But the result was much more, the variety of flowers, shrubs and trees, (some bearing berries for birds) is the envy of the entire neighborhood. The plants have matured into a planned "painting" of contrasting foliage. My experience is that money spent outside of the house goes further than remodel money spent inside...maybe it is the "alive" thing that plants have. Now that my husband and I, the owners, moved in, we wanted a space that felt "finished", cozy and a place where we would like to hang out. Diana, the owner of Trio Landscaping, was excellent to work with. She spent a lot of time getting a good understanding of our budget and what we wanted before she created a plan and sent it to us. We had several zoom calls discussing the plan and making minor revisions to ensure it met our needs. Her design is spot on for our space. We were out of town the week the construction took place and came back to a completely new backyard! It has transformed the way we spend time in the back yard - hanging out with friends, grilling and just reading and relaxing. I now have a backyard I am proud to show off. In any case, ~20 years ago my son and I terraced the slope & garden on the East side of my house and installed timber retaining walls. Despite the fact that I used treated lumber the once pristine barriers had begun to deteriorate. I also had started but never finished several other projects. The patio and backyard were getting shabby and overgrown. It was time for a change. Anyone who may have read some of my previous reviews knows about my somewhat recent physical challenges. I'm not exactly a Spring chicken either. A professional job was in order. In addition to choosing Inspired I selected bluestone rock to replace the rotting timbers. The resulting walls and edging look great and the old beams were hauled away. Finished work included river rock and mulch. Gustavo partners with his father and brother to schlep, prepare, install and clean up. Gus was personable and I found him easy to work with. Everything was completed on time and according to neighbors looks: "amazing." Bluestone is not inexpensive. At first I was hesitant to spend so much, especially since I had done much work myself. But I think that in the long run the landscaping/hardscaping will more than pay for itself in providing years of entertaining and peaceful contemplation. Not to mention that it will likely raise the value of my home. If I have any major landscaping additions, I won't hesitate to contact Gus and his crew. Together they are effective, efficient, courteous and meticulous.

He said "you are the first on our list next spring" spring comes around and he continues to push us back further and further. May 1st then end of may then end of June. I get an email at the start of June saying maybe Fall of 2021!!!! That is over a year and a half Gus! I understand being busy but this was just disrespectful to my time. Overall, completely unreliable and unresponsive.

If you ever need follow-on assistance - even when you intend to pay, they are too busy. They have no interest in supporting their clientele. They have time for you if they are trying to sell a project, otherwise you are own your own. There are plenty of contractors who can build a nice backyard, and probably most of them are better choices than Yardscapes.

The design and workmanship is 100% good…read more We had a bluestone patio installed, low voltage lighting, irrigation system, sod and all trees, shrubs and plants. Approximate cost $80K. Their crew is experienced and do excellent work. I would give them a five star review if they fix or attempt to correct the following issues as I see fit. We wanted a rabbit/deer free design and plantings. Along with primarily perennials that don't take a lot of personal maintenance. In the past three years we lost one Serbian weeping pine tree due to rabbits, 3 Dakota Pinnacle Birch trees (due to bronze birch borers) and numerous box woods. I think their shortcomings is the total lack of sitting down with you as a client and pointing out potential issues on insect pests and wild life. They've been in business over 45 years and this shouldn't be new to them. We never knew that we should be on the lookout for bronze birch borers or put a metal fence around our pine to prevent damage. I called them to see if they could install some new Dakota pinnacle birch to replace the three dead ones. Was told they can't get hold of size 20 containers for them this year. Which is true. I did find some in LaCrosse WI, was willing to drive and get them if they would take out the dead ones and replace with new ones I purchased. I was willing to pay them whatever they wanted to do the job. Was politely told they can't do it, don't have the time. Needless to say I was highly disappointed considering I recommended them to my two neighbors that were building new homes as well. Between us we spent close to $200K I then called Davey Tree Company and bought 3 Parkland Pillar birch and they will remove the dead Dakota birch plant new ones. And they didn't even get this work on my property to begin with in the beginning. Be prepared to be on your own down the road as Yardscapes is not prone or willing to help you down the road when your one year warranty expires on your plantings.

Craig was really professional and extremely knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time telling me about my yard and even walked through every little spot with me identifying plants and giving me ideas for DIY projects that I could tackle without much cost. I was literally at the point of tears (of joy) after the consultation because I was so grateful. Unfortunately, once things got into the planning stages, the experience went downhill pretty fast. It took almost a month before I received the initial quote on the project, although he said things might be delayed so I didn't think much about it at the time. But after that, all communication completely dropped off. I sent a follow-up message to the quote asking for a couple modifications, but never heard back. After a few weeks I sent another message asking if he received my last one. That's when he very quickly responded (quote): "I'm sorry, I'm not interested in small projects. If you decide to tackle a larger project I would be fine with entertaining that in the future." To say I was disappointed is an understatement. It was immediately clear to me that my project wasn't "valuable enough" for him, despite having long-term plans for multiple projects. What was especially frustrating is that his business is not only advertised as "small project-friendly" but Craig was clear in the consultation that he would work with me after I had given him the scope. It definitely felt like he was simply "being professional" to get the $100 consulting fee but had no actual interest in following through. I had also put other prospective landscapers on hold waiting for responses from Craig that I never received. So while the consultation went well, I really can't recommend this company if you're considering a project under $10k. Which is a shame because I was ready to be a customer for life based on the first meeting. So if you need an eco-friendly landscaper and you don't have a big budget, look elsewhere. But if you're looking to pay $100 for someone to tell you about the plants in your yard, the fee is worth it.
