Exceptional Customer Service! We ordered a custom end grain countertop that is huge and cost many thousands. The company worked tirelessly to drill down on details of the project and get it right. Finally, it is shipped to us. We sign for it, unpack it, and open it. It was BROKEN in two! This was clearly the fault of shipping company, who would not reload it after we had signed for it. Huge bummer. Well, Grothouse dealt with shipper and insurance, who apparently denied their claim (and presumably Grothouse at the error that was not their fault). Even more stand-up for me is that they got right on top making us a brand new piece, at no charge whatsoever to us, and put the production at the head of the line. The new piece arrived promptly, no questions asked. This could have gone a number of ways, and Grothouse stood up and handled it with utmost integrity and responsibility. AAA+++ BTW: The piece itself is stunning. read more

Buyers Beware We bought a huge countertop. It arrived warped and for several months Paul Grothouse the owner blamed us and said it wasn't stored correctly or installed correctly . They never sent a rep to see the piece but wanted us to have it removed and put on the ground in our house for 2 months or more. Then they wanted us to send it back to be fixed. It weighs 500 lbs. Recently they confessed that because of the large overhang it should never have been made for our kitchen Island and that's why it warped and it will be fixed. What part of ARRIVED WARPED isn't Paul Grothouse getting. He's arrogant and self righteous. There is another review that is almost identical to mine . read more
