It is pretty easy to get to, even though it isn't central to anything really with a tram stop "East Didsbury" across the way and a Tesco close by. Unlike most similar centres, I was surprised there weren't many big-name quick-fast food restaurants including the likes of Subway, McDonald's and KFC which would have been handy, but the construction of this place isn't that great anyway as it is quite a good walk from the car park to the complex where the cinema and eateries are. Parrs Wood is summed up by "Meh, I've experienced better", it isn't new anymore as it was built as I recall in around 2011/2012 and is now so generic, lacking innovation and anything which makes this stand out from the crowd. 2*

They also have a tuesday offer which you get in all day for a couple of pounds cheaper than the normal cost. inside there are around 10 screen showing various diffrent films also 3d films and seats are fairly comfortable! you can buy your usually icecream and popcorn or even bettar go to pizza hut which is vitually next door. other places to eat include chiquito's. bella italia and fankie and benny's . parrs wood entertainment centre is a great alrounder for me and will be for alongtime.

A lot of money has been raised by 'Friends of the Grand' to help it stay open and keep the facilities up to date. It shows a wide range of plays and groups, from Shakespeare to the every popular Rocky Horror Show. Usually offers a pantomime at Christmas and a summer season during the summer months. There is a large car park opposite, above BHS and discounts are offered. If you want a pre-theatre supper, there are lots of restaurants close by that are used to diners being in a hurry.

A mass has been found on the left side of my brain and is spreading. I have had treatment, but at this point I have been told its a life limiting condition. I contacted to cancel my tickets, because well, and I can use that money now to help with home costs. They replied to me that I needed to get them proof that I was 'not going to be here'. They then said that they can swap my tickets for another performance so I don't get to miss it. I am in Derby. They want me to go to London to get a sick note from my surgeon, or to download a form from ATG and then send it to my busy surgeon, get him to fill it out and send it back to me to prove it. As a last ditch attempt, the Palace Theatre Box Office was approached, and they turned around and said that if I am unwilling to follow the process with ATG, there is nothing they can do. Or alternatively I could sell my tickets on Twickets, because I am obviously well enough for that! I.am absolutely flabbergasted. Sickened. Disgusting service. This is the first review, but my family are going to leave a review on every review site, all media sites. They have the transcripts of the conversation. The main concert suite offers seating for around 500 so is great for large celebrations. The other rooms are smaller but still can cater for small functions such as business meetings and luncheons. Check the website for what else they have to offer. It changes every month so make sure you check because something might come along you like! Many things happen here, from production shows to fitness classes, weight watchers and the list goes on. It is a great civic hall for the community to get involved in!

Buxton Museum & Art Gallery is a smallish venue in the town centre, with modest exhibits of…read morehistorical objects and paintings (on the upper floor) which also offers a glimpse into the history of Buxton. There are some genuine artefacts on display, most obviously the "Buxton Mermaid" (see photo) - in the 19th century, people like the infamous P.T. Barnum displayed such objects as genuine "mummified mermaids"! Unfortunately, it's all downhill from there: the mostly modern paintings on the upper floor are insignificant, made by local artists - but they do add to the "community feel" of the place, and as suggested by the many posters and leaflets lying around, the museum plays an important part in the communal activities of the town. The entry is free, and you're allowed to take photos. So if you're close by, why not drop in for a half hour on a rainy day.

They've changed to Baskin Robbins ice-cream range now which is a shame as Ben and Jerry's was much nicer. You can get a cineworld card for £16.40 a month which if you go twice a month on weeknights or a weekend would be worth it. Costs nearly a tenner for an adult ticket otherwise. Comfy cinema seats and clean toilets. Parking is free but hard to find at busier times. It's also easy to get here by bus or tram with the stops a couple of minutes away. There's also a tesco close by which could be handy. Plus the usual Nandos, Bella Italia etc chain restaurants and a bowling alley with lots of video games. Also a casino where you can get a 2 course meal and a cinema ticket for £12.95 on a Sunday or Thursday night. I done this and it was pretty good, although you have to bring a passport to join up with the casino.
