Did a useful walk around where we pointed out what concerned us and they pointed out things for us to consider. Very happy with the job they did & very fair prices--- taking off some very large branches back to the right place and trimming out some dead branches; also pointed out to us that an old redbud with some dead parts was really dying--and took it out entirely. They did such a good job of stump grinding that the nursery that brought us a new tree had no trouble placing the new one very close to where the old one used to be. Frankly Coughlin did a better job cutting back to the "branch collar" than our neighbor's service (the sign is branches that die back from where they were cut and leaves those big open knotholes in the trunk).

On Friday, Nov 13, 2015, my neighbor hired this tree service…read more I don't know who these people think they are, but this was our encounter with McCloughlan Tree Service. 1. They were there to do work on our neighbors property. Without our permission, they jumped our enclosed backyard fence and attempted to do some work on the neighbors issue from our property, once again, without even asking permission to come on to our property. When my 82 year old mother confronted them, they acted like they owned the world and could go wherever they like to get their job done, and basically blew her off with attitude, when she asked what they were doing on her property. 2. They allowed MANY large pieces of the tree and quite a bit of tree debris to fall onto our property, rather than restricting it to the neighbors yard, as they should have. Once again, we confronted them and asked what their plans were regarding the large tree sections and debris they allowed to fall onto our property. Their response, "that's your problem." 3. They were so careless in the way they were working, I had to ask if they were a real tree service. He told me the name of his service and said, "been doing this for 25 years." They have their own personal website, and at the website, it states, "over 40 years experience". So, either the owner forgot about over 15 years of his business when he told me 25 years, or his personal website is lying to people when it says over 40 years experience. And, on the yellowpages page, it says in business 30 years. This owner can't seem to remember how many years he's been in business. 4. Whether it's 25 or 30 or over 40 years experience, they should well know about going onto someone else's property without permission, leaving tree waste on other person's property, and speaking to myself and an 82 year old woman they way they did. EVERYONE, do NOT hire these people. They go onto other property without the owners permission, and don't even care if they leave tree parts and debris on property that didn't have anything to do with the property they are working on. These people attempt to make themselves out to be a profession tree service. All we saw were two hillbillies, with attitudes, with a chainsaw.
