People working there clearly loves dogs! Great experience and the groomers did a great job!

So I took my dogs there because they needed a little attention as far as haircuts... First thing I'll say ... BEWARE of the front entrance door. My poor baby got his paw stuck in the door after it closed on him too quickly because the owners of this place are too cheap to fix the door damper. I open the door thinking the door wouldn't close right away... WRONG! All though the staff seemed concerned, they didn't seem concerned enough to have the door fixed... I'll also say that they are over priced and they take way to long to do something simple like just a cut and wash... Be careful where you take your babies... mine will never got back... I'm luck my poor baby wasn't seriously hurt... I had to take him to vet but he's ok... Thank god. Stay away from this place. read more

I have been with Groomingdales for over a decade. When my Mr.Max a golden-lab was thrown out of every groomer all over Nassau county, Kim took him and managed him like nobody else. When Mr.Max got sick she helped him out many times. After Mr. Max passed, I got my Jake, and Groomingdales was one of the first places I took Jake to meet Kim and her staff. Jake is now 5 and I am always so happy when he comes back to me. Her cuts and fabulous and her prices are very fair. I would recommend them very highly. read more

I take my dog here to get his nails cut as it is close by and was recommended to me. The staff members are knowledgeable and very friendly, even gave a few tips to avoid the slipping on wood floors. I'm usually in and out with my dog, so it doesn't take long at all and I can squeeze it into my day! read more

I take my terrier mix who is a very difficult dog with high anxiety who isn't easy to handle here after being referred to this place by a friend. I have used Groomingdales for four and half years and I would not go anywhere else. My dog kisses Kim and Gina who grooms him, cuts his nails and my dog doesn't just kiss anyone. He always comes back smelling great with an adorable cut and a cute bandana The ladies at the front desk are very helpful and friendly. I have been coming to Groomingdales since 1999. I have always had a positive experience. Kim and the staff are great! They listen to what you want for your dog. I am on my 2nd mini schnauzer who has a skin condition. They have been very accommodating cutting her shorter than the normal Schnauzer cut since I have to bathe her every week and it's easier for me and my dog. I can't say enough. My sister has been bringing her dogs here even longer than me. I highly recommend Groomingdales. My dog loves coming here! That says it all! read more

I brought my Yorkie there for the first time today and I absolutely loved it!! My experience was extremely positive - the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The grooming of my dog was just as I had wanted and, considering she has ear sensitivity, they treated her very gently. My lovely Bella looks adorable with her new cut. Took my three for babies to Grooming dales had a terrible experience the owner was very rude and obnoxious I notice my Shih Tzu had a cut on his foot yes he had a rash under his arm but it was not on his foot they nipped him and when I told her about it she went to see and squeeze it of course the dog cried and she said oh you're nothing but a brat he's very bad and we muzzle him I got very upset and mad she said it's a rash it is A rash it's a cut she didn't want to take responsibility and she knows she was wrong then she said well it could be a cut we could've snapped him he doesn't like being groomed he's nothing but a brat he's very bad and we have to muzzle him well if you know my Joey boy he is so sweet never had a problem with him this lady is rough and scary and that's why the dog probably didn't like being groomed now his rash is worse than ever has a bad cut on his foot and he can't open his eyes all the way so they must've got something in his eyes Also my two other dogs who are sure to use his sons one of them has a cut on his foot in the back that I've never seen before and I will never ever go back there again they know they're wrong they even gave me medicine for free you can bet they will get the vet bill if my dog has an infection they better hope and pray that they did nothing wrong to him I'm very worried about his eyes and why he can't open them grooming dales is horrible and I will never go back there again shame on you to the owner she was very mean and nasty and didn't want to hear anything I had to say trust me I love my dog looks like they are my babies and this is not ended yet I just pray to God that my Joey is OK I'm really worried about his eyes and his foot and my other dog chubby also God knows what they do to them when Chubby got home he had a seizure grooming dales is horrible I would not give them one star I don't know why that one is yellow definitely not from me read more

Very poor and horrible service. Got my shitzu for the first time for his grooming here and they took almost 5 hours to groom him from 11.30 am to 4.30pm..Really very terrible service..When asked her why so much delay,, she said they have 35 dogs waiting there..who will believe that?? Their place also doesn't look neat and clean and don't even take your calls at times and you need to keep calling them again n again..Their cut is not professional, very uneven.. When we picked him up all his eyes were red and wetty.. Not a great place for your pets.. read more

My husband and I were looking for a groomer for our 2 four-month old Shih Tzu babies - and this site caught our eye as the website states they base their business on love and fun for their clients/doggies. Unfortunately, the woman who took my husband's call at 10:05 AM December 16th was so incredibly rude and annoyed by his calling that our babies will never know this place as there is no way on this planet we'd take our babies somewhere when a simple phone call cannot warrant genuine warmth and kindness. These two little guys are our BABIES - it should be a warm and pleasant phone call and should be willing to answer any questions we have but more importantly, just be KIND. Help 2 new parents to puppies feel that your business, Groomindale's, is the BEST possible choice to bring our boys to for their first grooming experience, and hopefully they will never have to look for another groomer. You should convey warmth and kindness and care and even interest on the phone when taking in what could have been brand-new customers. I hope it was just the person we spoke to, and that this business of love and fun for doggies and their parents is truly a good place to take their babies to. We also hope this is read by the owner/manager and the staff is re-examined for better customer service skills. We hoped for warmth and fun for our puppies' potential groomer but there's no way we'd take them to what sounded like Miss Hannigan from the movie Annie on the other end of the phone. read more

I have brought my senior dog here twice. The first time was terrific. She looked great and they shared that although she didn't love being brushed, that she stood at attention and was well behaved. This morning I brought her back. About an hour later they called for me to pick her up stating that they couldn't groom her because she had bitten the groomer. I was shocked as the only thing she's ever been accused of is kissing too much. When I got there, the groomer completely changed her story and told me that she was difficult last time too. I didn't know what to think but the rest of the day she wasn't herself. she's walking very stiffly and can't jump up on the couch. I'm now convinced that something happened to her. Maybe she did try to bite but it wasn't because she was getting groomed. I'm just hoping she didn't fall off of the table or was not dropped on the floor. Never again! read more

Very upset! I brought my dogs here and it took 6 hours for them to groom a golden retriever and a long haired chihuahua, which didn't really need much of a haircut, just the retriever. I was very surprised at how long they took compared to other places. When I got my dogs back my 11 year old chihuahua was wincing in pain and developed bloody diarrhea. I took her to the vet (which was another $370 bill) and they said that the groomers were most likely rough with her because her shoulders are in pain and the bloody diarrhea is stress induced. I'm so upset I brought my dogs here and won't be back. read more

Definitely not impressed. I was recommended by a family member and left a message to have my dog groomed and waited a week and still had no call back. I gave them the benefit of the doubt due to COVID and called again and made an appointment. The receptionist was extremely rude and short with me over the phone. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt since I was recommended by a trustful family member. Upon arrival for my dogs appointment, the receptionist was rolling her eyes at customers and staff. I requested that the owner groom my dog and she came out and spoke with me about my dogs cut. When I went to pick up my dog later in the day, the owner came back out and told me that my dog was so sweet and great. They charged me a $20 mat fee (my dog was very matted) in addition to the regular cost of the groom. I went on my way and later that night I found 4 buzzer cuts on my dogs ears!!!!! Two on each ear. There is NO WAY that the owner didn't realize because it looked like they used something to cauterize the cuts. She didn't even have the decency to let me know that she cut my dog- not once, but 4xs!!!! It's about a month later and her cuts are still not healed. I wish I took pictures. I definitely do not recommend!!!! read more

AWFUL!!! STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE THEY'RE A BUNCH OF HACKS! We bought our beautiful Australian Shepard to them and they seriously hacked off all his fur. After being told that they should only give him a trim, they hacked off ALL of his fur.. he looks like a short haired dog - maybe a wire terrier at best... and what's worse - it's not even an EVEN hack job. He has chunks of fur and matted hair in places. JUST THE WORST! And when we told them how upset we were they said "now we know for next time". There will be no next time. you people are the worst. If he was a show dog I'd sue them. Our poor boy doesn't look nearly as gorgeous as he used to. read more
