They wanted to charge me an extra $70 for me to be in there when they put her down, I was told they would sedate her then put her down but today when I went to pick her up I was told when the owner is not present they do what they call masking and sometimes it can cause pain to the animal, but when I checked around other vets told me they don't charge extra and the encourage the owner to be present, because not only does it make the pet more comfortable it also helps the owners with the final goodbyes. On top of that, she came home with a bloody paw from a cut between her toe pads. For a first-time visit, there should have been more communication before starting. On top of that, the price was crazy for the quality of work. Something we could have done ourselves at home. She was also great about working with the whole family, kids included, to make sure we were all learning to communicate with Max effectively. Our 4 dogs are our babies and we have never boarded them before. We were extremely nervous at the…read moreidea and have put off traveling without the dogs for years. All of our dogs are rescues and 2 of them are very sensitive. We knew that there was NO WAY that they would be comfortable in a traditional kennel environment. And we couldn't stand the thought of leaving them in a concrete kennel with very little time outside or with too little human interaction. Our dogs are very human oriented and are extremely spoiled in every way. Once we met Helen and Brian, we quickly realized that they possessed a rare combination of genuine love for animals, professionalism, and reliability that sets them apart from the rest. We knew that PPP was going to be the best place to board them, BUT they far exceeded our expectations - which were already very high! We were sent dozens of pictures of our besties having a good time, multiple times per day! Helen and Brian spent the mornings and evenings cuddling with our pack and giving them tons of one on one time. They were also treated to special kibble toppers to keep meal time interesting. They treated them just like their own family, which made a huge difference in us being able to enjoy our family vacation with zero worry. Our dogs have a few quirks that require a very experienced dog handler, and of course, they were more than equipped to handle this as well. They really take the time to understand each pet's unique personality, preferences, and needs, ensuring that they feel safe, comfortable, and cozy in their care. My beloved Watson passed away this week and for me this was the only option. I was able to attend an in person cremation of my guy and say goodbye to him one last time. This offered me peace of mind that I was getting him back, which is what I needed. Theresa and Brenda are incredible people and completely empathetic to your situation.
