(I feel like this should mean a LOT coming from me, because a series of unfortunate dental experiences has traumatized me to the point that I have enormous amount of dental anxiety AND also an enormous amount of dental fixing to be accomplished -- even 15 years later.) I would follow either of these doctors to the ends of the earth, and I would never allow another dentist to care for me (which will be very problematic if either one should retire while I still have teeth!!!). I have been seen on a routine basis, on an emergency basis after hours, squeezed in before work, after work (for me), on the weekend. Both dentists have called me to check in after a procedure, or have called if I've had a concern after hours. If specialized advice is needed, they have many exceptional contacts in the area, and on the occasion that I have required referral for advanced work, I have known that I would be able to trust their referral partner as much as I do them. Dr. Dunn and Dr. Montgomery care so much about their clients' well-being and comfort, and they also love what they do, and they are masters in their field. They treat their staff with respect, and their staff is kind, gentle, and well-skilled across the board. Their facility is brand new, immaculately clean, and offers multiple state of the art treatments that are rare to find in a primary care center. I recommend these doctors to everyone I know who is looking because I know how much they have helped me and care for me, and I know that my experience is the rule there (and not the exception to it).

The quick appt time was where things ended. I completed the 7 pages of online registration and recv the confirmation email. When we arrived they didn't have it and the paper registration was 9 pages, fun times but not that big of a deal. After my child went back I just stayed in the small waiting area. Over the next 30 minutes the waiting room filled up. I was working on my laptop as the dental hygienist suddenly showed up and then in a relatively loud voice announced my child's diagnosis, prognosis, and asked several questions of personal medical history. This was all with 5 to 6 other patients and family members could plainly hear. I'm no HIPAA maniac, but this really put my hackles up. I felt deeply disturbed and embarrassed to have to share such private information with strangers. Then to make another appt I was led into a semi private consultation booth to speak to the receptionist behind the waiting room door. Why is that area not used for consultation? They seriously need to either expand their office space or move to a larger office to afford patients and their caregivers privacy. Then of course I was shocked to find out the follow-up appt would be 6 months out and that was the soonest they have. What are you doing that you have to book that far out? Again bring in a practice partner to share the load or reduce your patient load. Overall the end of what was a standard dental appt was deeply problematic. We will be trying the Thorndale office since the appt is the same time away at this point. Or perhaps we will head back to the Main Line where the staff was far more professional and perfectly versed in healthcare privacy.

I came in and met with his awesome office administrators, Noemi and Dawn, and after a brief discussion on my condition, I was scheduled me see Dr Sykora that same afternoon. I was shocked! After a brief introduction and X-ray, my worst fears were confirmed, my front tooth was cracked. Dr Sykora walked me through the potential actions we could take. He took his time to ensure I understood my options and the advantages/disadvantages of each. We jointly decided that an implant would be the best course of action for me. And then, for the second time in a few short hours I was shocked, when Dr Sykora said he could perform the implant surgery in his office right then. After extracting the tooth, a procedure that was complicated by the nature of the crack, Dr Sykora took the time to ensure my jawbone was sufficient for the implant and that the angle, depth, and size of the implant was perfect. And it was. I can't express enough how pleased I am. It stinks losing the tooth, but that's what ultimately led me to Dr Sykora, and for that, I'm thankful. Also, a shout out to Dr Jacob Favino who assisted with the extraction. If you are either new to West Chester or simply not pleased with your current provider, Dr Sykora and his team is your answer!! You won't be disappointed. And Dr Sykora called me about an hour after the procedure check-in and provide additional guidance on pain management. That is the first time in my adult life, and I'm 65, that a dentist has ever called to check in on me. Shock #3.

During my visit on October 17, 2024, for a routine cleaning, the office billed my insurance, which covered the entire cost. However, I have recently received a balance bill for $100 that they assess without having submitted it to my insurance. This practice raises concerns about their billing practices and transparency. Additionally, I was informed that I had ten cavities and would require extensive dental work, amounting to over $1,500 out of pocket. Doubting the necessity of these procedures, I sought a second opinion, during which I was informed that I had no cavities at all. I also saw a dentist prior in April 2024 and they also say no cavities. Attached the EOb for both dental practice that saw no issued. This disparity suggests misconduct, as it appears Boot Way Dental is attempting to encourage patients to undergo unnecessary treatments. How can a 24 year old who brushes every day and has been going to dentist since 3 year old need 10 cavities and crowns at the same time. I went to a dentist 4/2024 and another 11/2024 and none of them saw what these fraudsters saw. Then they charged for a missed appointment on April 17, 2025, despite having called to cancel in advance. This charge seems unjust, especially considering the conflicting information regarding my dental needs. I believe Boot Way Dental is engaged in unscrupulous behavior, including billing insurance for services that are not medically necessary. This practice seems particularly concerning as it may prey on vulnerable populations, such as college students. I should have read reviews that had 1 stars. There seems to a pattern of deceptive behavior and suggesting unnecessary service. This place needs to be shut down! Please if you are reading this and they are stating you need work done and you feel something is off. Get a second opinion and they need to be reported for fraud and abuse. Please contact Office of Attorney General - Insurance Fraud Complaint and the Dental board at RA-ST-Complaints@pa.gov. This company messed with the wrong person! I will shut this place down!!!!

I pay out of pocket ($226.75) to be evaluated and X-rayed and told that deep cleanings will solve my problem. January 28th: I start this program, all out of pocket ($612.56) and I get the first of two deep cleanings. There are mistakes in my notes (I am not on 3 medications, nor do I have life threatening conditions--this is a HIPAA violation). The notes mention that I have periodontal disease. I am given Arestin but am not prescribed any antibiotics nor spoken to by a doctor. The notes say a dentist I never met saw me. February 13th (Bootway): Go back for the other side to be deep cleaned. Pay out of pocket again ($698.91). Notes appear to be mostly copied from the last set, but now there is another doctor I have NEVER met listed on it. Note show that I have low levels of pocketing. I am given some Arestin but not administered antibiotics. April 3rd (Bootway): I come back in for a maintenance cleaning and check, also out of pocket ($309.00). I am told that I have some deeper pockets than I was originally told, and the hygienist says that I may need osseus surgery but I am NOT referred to one and the dentist does not even come out; no dentist is listed on my notes. There is also a discrepancy in the pattern of the notes, with only one short paragraph instead of the standard of three pages so far. I requested the missing pages as of 12/3. July 11th (Bootway): I come back for a maintenance cleaning and check, also out of pocket ($146.26). I am now CONGRATULATED by the team that my teeth are coming along, and we are looking good. I am offered a night guard, and I decline due to cost ($550) and lack of explanation why this is so important. The dentist (Matthew) does come in, but she's dismissive and seemed annoyed to be there, so I figure they just want money. I request laser to both the hygienist and dentist, but I am denied due to the person being out. The file notes I received are FOR ANOTHER PATIENT as I am not malnourished, do not have a piercing and am not missing 8 teeth. This is a HIPAA violation/potential dental board violation (we shall see). I had moved in April and did not want to drive back out to Bootway again, so I decide to try their Media location: https://www.media.dental/ October 15th (Media): I come in for another maintenance cleaning and am again brushed off about the laser. As my cleaning is almost done, the hygienist asks if he can probe (they did not do this) because his experience in my mouth does not match what he saw on the charts from the last probe of my mouth (note that these are all inconsistent). He recalls them and it gets really serious suddenly. I am then accosted by Dr. Tran who tells me both my molars need to be pulled out. As I am full on crying, the Dr. Tran LAUGHS at me then goes away and never comes back. The Office Manager then comes in with a $6k quote to pull both the molars and asks if I want it done today. I am now hysterical at this point. To calm me down, they offer me a free periodontist consultation before then end of the week. There is a discrepancy in the pattern of the notes here again; I requested the missing pages as of 12/3. October 17th (Media): I meet the rudest periodontist ever who tries to explain to me why this is my fault and that the teeth must come out and there is no other option. All he does is lambaste me and tell me I'm basically too dumb to understand why my teeth must be pulled and that that's just all there is. October 27th: After pushing, I am connected to practice manager, Jennifer Maher who promises that I will AT A MINIMUM, be reimbursed everything I have paid for the experience. She states that I will have to sign something in the office, and I say I have my mom visiting, so can I do it next week. I am ghosted until December 3rd, when I ask for the missing files AGAIN to be ignored AGAIN. Before this time, I tried emailing and requested the owner's contact information to just continue being ignored. It took me over 20 days initially to get my files, and some of my files are being withheld despite being asked for. This is ANOTHER HIPPA violation. There are multiple HIPAA violations through my experience and a potential board violation. The amazingly skilled and congenial Dr. Fort plus his team of talented professionals (like gum specialist Stephanie or hygienist Shannon) can do it all -- pleasantly and expertly. You can readily tell that the entire WCDA team like each other and their work as they smile and display gentle senses of humor which make even anxious patients smile. Moreover, you won't be sent to other dental offices for complex procedures like I've experienced with other dentists. As a senior citizen with various dental problems over the years, I've had decades of experiences. These experiences have varied widely at dental offices literally around the U.S. and even a few outside the U.S. plus one on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier where I served for a couple of years. Some dentists were good but their support team had weaknesses like an unpleasant receptionist or untalented hygienist; other times, the weak point of the practice was actually the dentist who didn't have much ability so he or she had to re-direct you to other dental offices for any procedure that was complex. It's a whole new dental world at West Chester Dental Arts where I've found everyone to be friendly, gracious and talented expert professionals in all their team roles. Recently I needed a dental implant to replace a missing tooth and was apprehensive about the process as I had heard some concerning stories from friends about the process based on their experiences with other dentists. But, everything went totally smoothly for me with highly skillful Dr. Fort and his support team. I experienced virtually no pain at any time from start to finish during the several month process and the implant fits so perfectly that it feels and looks just like another one of my natural teeth that has been in my mouth for years. The superior talents and pleasant attitudes of Dr. Fort and his talented team have given me great comfort about any dental work I may need in the future. BTY, Dr. Fort is the first dentist I've ever overheard say that he truly enjoys his work and appreciates his patients. That comment alone was enough to make me know that I had finally found my dentist for the rest of my life!
