We had wanted to do ax throwing since we found out it was a thing, so we were thrilled to discover Grizzly Axes while we were on vacation in Pensacola. There were four of us (two adults and two teenagers), although one of our teenagers didn't want to participate. We paid for the hour of ax throwing, but when we had to leave early in order to get to our escape game booking reservation, they changed our fees to a half hour instead. The guy showed us how to throw and hold the axes properly before we began. We had a great time!! **Tips** ~ The activities are cheaper for walk-ins than reservations. However, if you don't place a reservation, you take the chance of them being full when you go. We went around 2-3pm on a Thursday afternoon and we were the only ones there at that time. ~ Even with the cheaper prices of just walking-in, it is still expensive. It was roughly $80 for three people to throw for one hour. Although, ours was dropped down to $40 and a half hour when we had to leave early. ~ Only two people can throw axes at one time, but you can take turns if you have multiple people wanting to play. ~ We only used the axes for our game, but for different fees they have other things you can throw, such as a shovel and/or ninja stars. ~ They have other things to do besides ax throwing, including a rage room, splatter painting, and arcade games among others. All are either walk-in (when available) or available with reservation. ~ You can't park in front of the building, unless it's in one of the two spots by the entrance (facing the road) or you have a handicap tag. When we went there was a huge pothole that we narrowly missed when trying to get parked in one of the available non-handicap spaces. read more

There's so many fun things for you to do but the ax throwing was great... It had been a stressful few weeks and I took a day off of work and last minute decided that this was what I wanted to do. The staff was fantastic, the drink selections are great and who could go wrong with throwing an ax as hard as you can at a board??? We came here last week with some terrific Amigos that flew in from California to visit us for 6 days... it was the first time for all 4 of us to throw axes & shovels & ninja stars and it was a BLAST! Our terrific hostess/trainer & instructor was a very confident person by the name of Tia ~~to say she is an expert is an understatement because NOT only did she almost hit the bullseye every time she demonstrated the techniques, she was able to very constructively correct all 4 of us in rapidly improving our ability to almost hit the bullseye while having lots of fun! The staff quickly teaches you the basics and they are always happy to come back to you with more tips. The venue has other activities so everyone remains engaged and there are beverages as well. They gave us little tutorials on how to properly throw an axe and gave us tips on being safe. There is a cool bar there with a nice selection of beers. This place was soooo fun! Came here with my friend for my birthday. I enjoyed my time. All of the staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. If any of them saw us struggling with the technique they would jump in and offer assistance (axe throwing). They all seemed to really like their job and it showed. The pricing is in 30-1 hour increments but you can extend the time if you want to (we did) They also have a Rage Room for breaking things lol. It looked fun but we did not do that this time around. This is my favorite spot in Pensacola. We originally went to try out axe throwing (now our favorite sport) but turned out they have everything! When you first walk in you will see a game area. This has cornhole, giant connect four, giant jenga, some video games, and a a huge screen for a Nintendo switch behind the bar (yes, a bar!). There are over twenty lanes for axe throwing, rage rooms in the back, ( I recommend on days you are in a rut) and a paint room. The staff s incredibly friendly and knows a lot of tips if you are starting out. They also sell WATL approved axes that you can try out before you buy! We have gone there a couple times now, and I feel like we see something new to do each time. If you are thinking about it, just go here. You will not regret it! read more

Late review, but loved the service at this place. Even with COVID restrictions in place the staff here had set the bar by going above and beyond to ensure the comfort of ever party. Like that you could bring your own food in. The instructor that teaches you how to throw the axes were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Did I mention you can also throw shovels? Lol. The most fun I've had on a date in recent memory! Everyone working here clearly loves their job, they're happy, helpful, and always smiling. Almost everything is made with wood: benches, axe targets, giant jenga, shuffle board, corn hole, giant connect all 4, darts, and prob more. The axe throwing is clearly the highlight, it's satisfying, fun, and you don't need to be coordinated or strong to get good at it as my wife proved. There's also a rage room which I did not try, so if you want to destroy things, you can do that too. They have a coach teach you how to throw the axes first, and won't leave until you have stuck one or two on the target, then you have fun, you can throw one armed or two armed axes, you can throw two simultaneously, also there's a bar with reasonably priced beer, wine, and mixed drinks. It's not overly expensive to throw the axes, around $20 per hour per person. It's a blast tho, my wife and I threw axes until our arms hurt for about an hour, then spent another hour playing the other games (at no extra charge). Remember to bring closed toed shoes! I showed up in sandals and they did let me wear some loaners with panty hose socks haha. I don't think I saw one person that wasn't smiling, you just can't help but have a blast. read more

SO. MUCH. FUN! This spot is easy to find and they always have an open lane. The prices are reasonable and guess what...axe throwing is not the only thing they offer. This location has gotten creative with your bad days, there is a destruction room that you can lash your anger in and hit the items they provide or you can bring your own! Employees are very nice and are willing to help if you're just not getting it. There are a few other things to do for friends waiting or not interested in axe throwing, like brick jenga or cornhole.
