They are currently located in the Zeidler hall in the Citadel Theatre and this venue is pretty much a perfect size for their shows. They sell drinks (including alcohol) and twizzlers/nibs which can be purchased either before the show or at intermission (depending on the type of show, this may vary). As they're located in the Citadel, you can get here easily via transit and there are many parking garages available within easy walking distances (including the attached library parkade).

I had no previous theatre experience, but the volunteers (they have one paid administrator, the rest is entirely volunteer run) scooped me up, fostered any talent I had in me and let me run with it. I am continually amazed at the professionalism in this amateur community theatre. Their most recent production, Nine, was phenomenal. The stage was incredible. The musicians were outstanding, the cast and crew were amazing. From upside down singing on a stripper pole, to dance numbers with a huge cast - this little theatre transported the audience out of their seats and into the Italian spa. The art in the lobby is indeed from local artists and is coordinated before each show to reflect the themes in the show. All are available for purchase and is a great way to integrate local artists into our community. The theatre is cozy and very intimate, but not too small that you feel claustrophobic. Ticket prices range from $12-$20, the first Thursday of every run is 2 for 1. Also the Monday before the show opens is Student night - students get in free with a valid Student ID. Amazing deal! Located next to the Strathcona Farmer's Market, the building is a converted fire hall - the first in Strathcona - and the building is a designated heritage spot at over 100 years old.

L'UniTheatre is a gorgeous theatre in Edmonton that is sometime forgotten by the general public…read more Tucked away in the french quarters of Edmonton L'UniTheatre produces its own french theatrical programming as well as is a popular rental venue for companies such as Good Women Dance Collective and Workshop West Theatre. It is also programmed heavily during the Fringe Festival. Built in the late 1990's the theatre is a beautiful space with 3 levels of seating stacked in a manner that allows everyone to be near to the stage and with great sight lines. There really aren't any bad seats in the house. The theatre remains well kept, easy to access and a great spot in a beautiful neighbourhood.

The audio seemed fine but they were only playing recorded music so I don't know what it would be like for a live performance. Two pet peeves: - The seats aren't staggered at all so the person in front of you is right in front of you. Moving their head at the same time as you are moving your head, etc. If you get stuck behind someone taller than you, it's pretty much tough luck, suck it up. Also, not a lot of leg room, rows very close together. - I don't know if it's just because it was -30 outside, but it was boiling hot in the theatre. I got a little dizzy! A few of my friends commented on it as well.

Because of the smaller stage, the performers had to be a little creative with the special effects but overall the story was well told! The singing was also pretty awesome as well. A perk is that there's free parking available in the uncovered parking next to the building. There aren't too many people to compete with for spots, not unlike a larger space such as the Jubilee Auditorium. When you walk towards the front of the building, you'll pass La Cafe Bicyclette - nice place to grab a quick bite since it's right in front. The grounds are open and actually quite pretty. My friend and I were talking about how it would be a great venue for outdoor performances or even a wedding! Inside there's generally a lot of opportunity for natural light, during the day, as there's so many windows. For the couple of times I've been here, there's been incredible artwork to oooh and ahhh about. Generally they're local artists that are featured so that's also a great thing in supporting a community feeling. When it comes to watching the shows, it's usually general seating. This may conjure up feelings of panic or anxiety, in anticipating getting a great view. The best part of this theatre is that there isn't a bad seat in the house! There's a first and second floor balconies that wrap around U-shaped in front of the stage. In addition the seating on the main level is at an incline. Honestly the place is so intimate that no matter where you sit, you're really not too far from the stage. If you have a chance to come here for a show, I'd definitely recommend it. It's a refreshing change compared to the hectic stress of the bigger productions at the larger venues.

The building is constructed in a round shape and when you walk in, there is a huge lobby area where events are sometimes held, along with benches and seats to just hang out. It is located near the French campus of the U of A, and in the Bonnie Doon area where the majority of French-speaking Edmontonians live. The theatre has a variety of cultural events such as concerts and plays (the community's own French language theatre group is also located here). The restaurant serves a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and main dishes - I had a really good butter chicken here.

We sat right up in front like we were at a town hall for a old school highschool play. We didnt order any drinks or food, in fact you coulnt order food.
