    Rueben....
    Michael M.

Having just transferred to Colorado Springs.... I'm always looking for local grub. It was recommended i try Grinder Sandwhich. The first time i went I had their Italian Grinder. It was good. It had great flavor and well presented very well. However, I was wanting to try their Rueben sandwich. I was told they make their own meat. Luckily I stopped by last week, and they were well stocked with their homemade meat. I was properly greeted right away with the one of the most friendliest staff I've encountered so far in COS. I ordered the Rueben with potato salad and tea. After sitting down, Michael began a great conversation with the history of the establishment and was very welcoming and introducing several great selections they had on the menu. My sandwich was brought out and didn't disappoint. It was stacked with ingredients, hot and had great depth of flavor. Truly the best Rueben I've had in COS and I will definitely be returning... Thank you Michael and team for a great experience and OUTSTANDING lunch!

The best sandwiches I've had in the Springs. The meat is superb, bread freshly sliced, but the staff is phenomenal. This place has better service than that chicken sandwich franchise that's closed on sundays. You know what I mean. I'd give more stars if possible! Don't delay, pull up and eat here today!

a beef sandwich and a side of pickles

If I could give this place 20 stars I would. Best customer service I've had in my life. They were extremely busy, employees had nothing but great attitudes. Food was 10/10 as well. I don't remember the name of those sandwich it was like a Philly cheesesteak. So good definitely recommend this place!!!

This place is very slow in cranking out the sandwiches - expect a wait for your order. I got there 2 minutes past 11am and was the 6th person in line. I ordered a corned beef sandwich and a pastrami with swiss to go. I tried to order a side of coleslaw, but they didn't have any. I also tried to order the soup of the day and same thing they didn't have that either. After a 30 minute wait, I was informed by the lady who took my order that they were out of corned beef. Really? I changed the order to a roast beef sandwich. She came back a second time and asked if pepper jack cheese for the pastrami was OK, they were out of swiss. Really? I walked out the door with my order at 11:54 almost an hour after getting there. That's too long for a deli sandwich. To be fair - one of the owners, I guess that's who he was, was very apologetic about the delay but honestly, even after getting my order straight at the 30 minute mark - why were customers who came in after me getting their orders? It takes another 30 minutes to get my order? As to the food, the pastrami was sliced thin and apparently re-heated on the griddle - it had crispy pieces to it and was very dry. I didn't taste the smoke or the coriander. Their website says house smoked but it didn't taste it. The meat to bread ratio was lacking and the pickle was a poor excuse for a pickle. The roast beef was better but lacked flavor. Don't fall for all the great reviews like I did.

    The smell is divine

As soon as you walk in you are slapped in the face with the most delicious of smells! They have several sandwiches to choose from, but I decided to go with their new Steak Philly. It was soooo good! It came with Aus jus which was a nice added extra. I feel bad for the people sitting near me because my audible yummmms happen frequently. I didn't realize that they closed at 2, so I told them to wrap it to go. They guy making the sandwiches told me it was totally fine that I stay to eat, but thanked me for offering. They had ran out of turkey for the day so they offered the customers that had turkey in their sandwich a substitute meat and gave them a free bag of chips! They were very friendly and definitely make a killer sandwich. All other sandwich shops can suck it, cuz Grinders shows all the others up! I will definitely be back again and again

    Hot Italian grinder!

The sandwiches are amazing! The owners are super freaking awesome! And the vibe is perfect and chill af!!

Homemade chicken noodle soup - very hearty!

It is in a strip center, and not on a main road, but it is well worth taking the time to find it. We were welcome immediately by a friendly staff member at the register, who turned out to be the owner, Jin! The restaurant was very clean and neat and brightly lit. Most of the menu is listed up on two screens above the counter, but there was also a photo board of specials. I ordered for my husband and myself, getting miso soup, Jin's Japchae, Mandu, and Chicken Ssam Bop (Korean lettuce wraps). There were a few fountain drinks available as well as some bottled sodas and other drinks. The owner, Jin, came out very soon after we were seated, bringing some complementary hot green tea. She soon returned with the miso soup, which was delicious. Next came the Mandu, then the Japchae - a huge portion - followed by an even larger plate holding the Ssam Bop. Every single dish was delicious! And Jin checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our food. She even offered more miso soup and hot tea. When we both expressed how much we enjoyed our meal, Jin gave me a big hug! It is not often that a restaurant makes you feel so completely at home and welcome!

The spam in the Gimbap caught me by surprise, but everything paired well. Our meal also came with a side of soup.

Clearly also busy getting other orders ready and such. The next one to come to the counter wouldn't let my mother finish her sentences when trying to ask a question and wasted her own time repeating what the first one had told us. She then called the next person in line (who had just arrived - like 30 seconds ago) while we were standing there ready to order. She came off with even more of an attitude when we took exception. I walked out so I wouldn't get overly nasty to her. I might come back some time and give it another go. Hopefully the rude lady slows down and shows some grace for folks like my mom in the future. I'm almost sure that she was just amped up for the lunch hour but unfortunately struck out.

To be honest I thought the Mac n Cheese was the best part of the meal. The sandwich was hastily thrown together and all messed up. One big chunk of chicken salad was mashed into my croissant. I had to rebuild the sandwich just to take a few pics and eat the sandwich . Meh! Won't return.

Instead of talking to a person.. it's Kiosk or online only.  Ok.. I'll do the kiosk since I was in the lobby already... I want chicken as a protein.  Nope.. never shows up.  I asked an employee " how can I order chicken?"  A sweet young lady comes out and tells me " You have to push this button that says 'Signa...'. I figured Signa ... was supposed to be Signature Chicken but the button icon was too small.  Does anybody proof read or use focus groups anymore? I go through the sauces and get down to the pita bread.  I was required to make a choice of "no pita bread" and... nothing else.  I want pita bread, but it was not a choice.  So I didn't click no pita bread.. and tried to checkout.  Nope!  Incomplete order!  I need to select a choice of pita bread, of which there was only one... no pita bread.  Sweet lady comes back and says "we ran out of pita bread a few days ago and took that option off the kiosk.  But, we have it now!  I'll give some if you want it."  So.. they can take it off the menu but never put it back on??  Weird.... By now I was frustrated with the kiosk.  I can point to what I want behind the window that requests I stand at least a foot away from. I said.."I'll try ordering online".  That took things from bad to worse. Online was ordering with zero description of what the item was along with a BB size picture.  I'll be honest.. I don't know the difference between a tabuleh (sp?) salad and a road apple horse salad.  And no matter what protein you choose, the picture never changes.  I believe the picture was falafel, which I'm sure would not be considered a protein.  That's the first step.. not a great introduction to what I should expect further down the page. Oh... due to a medical condition, I can't eat onions.  Tough to order when I have no freaking idea what the hell tabuleh salad (or everything else on the menu is because NOTHING has any description to it!) No descriptions, or even useful pictures of food, and absolutely no way of indicating I wanted the sauces on the side and not dumped on top of my food which made my lunch.. unknown lumps of something swimming in sauces I never even had the chance to taste separately and determine what I liked the best. Bottom line.. "we begin eating with our eyes".  We see something we want to eat and go from there.  Blindfold us.. and ask "what do you want" will never work at Garbanzos. And then I heard from a staff member that this store will soon be having the kitchen in the back, and only interact with customers when their food gets dropped off at the counter.  Garbo zoos is NOT McDonald's!  If I order McDonalds, I know exactly what to expect. Garbo zoos (yes, that's spelled the way I intended it) is not a burger place.  Good luck!  I'm certain you will achieve all the low expectations I have for your future. Garbanzos redefined what POS means in the service industry.  They took away any personal interaction and replaced it with 2 POS systems.

There's n o "big" signage on the façade, but the owner said they will have some soon. The place is clean and bright, and the owner, Mike, and his son Mikey were friendly and welcoming. There is quite a bit of Air Force and patriotic decor on the walls. There's plenty of seating with 12 low 2-person tables & 3 high-top 2 person tables. You order at the counter, and be sure to know that they are willing to work with you so that you can get exactly what you want. Note: there are only canned and bottled drinks available. And my husband was happy to see a Recycle bin to reduce waste. My husband ordered the Veggie Grinder (with the avocado on the side for me). It had amazing amount & variety of vegetables on it and he was very happy. I decided to try The Bobby, which sounded like a grilled chicken Asian salad on a bun. And that's pretty much what it was - so delicious!! But also so huge that I had to give half of my bun to my husband so that I could finish the chicken and vegetables. While talking to Mike, the owner, I learned that I could order that sandwich as a bowl, without the bun. While the bun is delicious, I do try to eat low carb so I will try that next time. This is a wonderful family owned restaurant that I hope we get lots of business. I look forward to returning soon. Local community involvement as seen by Falcon football "thank you" framed art
