Unfortunately, my mother was not able…read moreto see him due to probably the most incompetent, indignant, lazy, highly rude and less than intelligent women at the front desk. In all my years within the medical field I have never experienced such. Were they my employee's, they would have been terminated immediately for the treatment these two 'ladies' gave my mother. I can best compare their behavior to 'mean girls'. Absolutely speechless after this interaction. Dr. Smith had been referred to us by a mutual friend and physician. My mother, new to the area, needed a follow up after a serious emergency hospital visit. She was refused services today because they were too lazy to pick up the phone and verify her insurance coverage. Immediately after, we called Medicare and they are assisting her with filing a complaint against this facility.

Although I must say, I agree that in SOME offices the front desk staff might be lacking quite a bit. It is definitely not across the board and not all the time, which for me has not been a real big issue ( I have most definitely had worse),otherwise they would have a five star rating from me. Dr. Blair is the best doctor I have ever encounter. LeDoux, and Baily, excellent service both office and the practitioners. I have also seen Price and Shapiro, everyone has been very professional, thorough with their examinations, and accurate with their diagnosis. Corridor has the best doctors and staff here. I can always get in same day, or next day worst case…read morescenario. Wait times are short, they always answer the phone, and the nurses really care about helping you. The two nurse practitioners are great to see if you can't get in with Dr. Moore too. She is all about the money and could care less about treating patients that are within network at the facilities she works at. Regardless if she says she accepts your insurance, she will discriminate against you at will!! Do yourself a favor and find someone else to care for your healthcare. I was scheduled with her 3 times and every time received a reason on why she couldn't see me or why I couldn't see her. Today when I arrived for my appointment with her she finally told the staff to reject seeing me all together to establish care, although we are a military family and I have collapsed lung from covid, I have bronchitis currently and need to be seen, have been with her Medical Center at Scott and white for many years, moved south and needed to establish care with a local doctor. In the decade that I have been with Scott and White I have never been refused care, until today, by Doctor Gladys Weng. She picks and chooses who she treats, so be careful when choosing such a Doctor who discriminates.

Even after moving to Austin, I continue to make the drive back and forth to San Marcos just so my son can remain in her care. That's how much she means to us. Her presence, her heart, and her dedication are irreplaceable. From the very beginning, Dr. Fischer has made it her mission to care not only for my son but for me as a mother. That kind of care is rare. I'll never forget one visit when my son was still a baby--I was sitting in the room, completely overwhelmed and silently crying. When Dr. Fischer walked in and saw me, she didn't hesitate--she came over, gave me the warmest hug, and comforted me like she had known exactly what I was feeling. It was a moment of kindness I will never forget. She listens--truly listens. She validates my concerns, never makes me feel inadequate, and gives reassurance in the most compassionate way. There's no condescending advice or rushed appointments--just warmth, gentleness, and care. My son gravitates to her, and it's no surprise. She's so loving, patient, and thoughtful. She remembers the little things, the big things--everything. To this day, if she's not available, I will reschedule or skip the appointment altogether. That's how much we value her. I came in for a routine physical, as I recently received health insurance for the first time in 10 years (God bless America). Mossburg discussed my health in an intelligent and friendly manner with laptop in hand, taking detailed notes. At first, I was caught off guard by her incessant typing while maintaining steady eye contact and asking thoughtful questions. I appreciated it afterwards, though, as she leaves you with a thorough report of your condition along with the steps taken and those recommended. If you get any lab work done, she also leaves a detailed recorded message on a coded phone system thing that you call in to hear your results. Very cool and convenient. The office isn't new or fancy but tries with the faux wood flooring and Pier 1 wall art. Forget the office--good doctors are hard to find, and Mossburg's a good one.

Not once did I ever take a family member to her and she not ask how we were doing and about our personal lives she would remember and bring things up we discussed about them to. Unfortunately, she took personal leave a couple of years ago and I never got my chance to be cared by her and I have medical concerns...it's hard finding a physician you trust and you like. I don't think we will find anyone better than her (she reminded me of my childhood doctor we had for many years) but I'm sure we will find someone up to par.
