Instead of…read moreclarifying things through the lawyer being used for the estate, he proceeded to do things they way he thought they should be done and was incorrect on 2 things. 1. Money had to be given to the estate to pay remaining bills before any of the heirs should receive their checks. I had to go up to the estate lawyers office to be sure it was done correctly. Once fixed, checks were ready the next day. 2nd incorrect thing was the way he divided the checks. I went up and tried to explain to David of where the issue was and how I did not see it was adding up correctly. He had given 2 heirs too much and 1 heir nothing. I asked him to work through the numbers with me so I could fully explain how it didn't seem right. I also asked him to call the estate lawyer for clarification. He would not work through the numbers or call the lawyer or realtor for clarification. He asked me to leave his office. As I left, the realtor was in the waiting room. She also agreed with me it was done wrong. Instead I had to go again to the estate lawyers office without an appointment, which she was already mad about. David still will not allow me back to pick up checks or sign paperwork even though the estate lawyer also showed that he was wrong. Now he wants me to contact the heir that has already cashed their checks to tell them they have to return some of it. He is also sending the paperwork to the estate lawyer, which is not getting paid for this - David did, to finish things out. I would not recommend this law office!!

Worst experience I could have conceivably had closing on a house as sellers with Knipp Law. We were…read morescheduled to close on the house we were purchasing at the same time and day as the closing of the selling of our home, so we had our own attorneys prepare the paperwork sent to them by Knipp and overnight the paperwork to them after we signed all the documents, along with emailing Knipp a copy of our closing attorneys wire transfer instructions. After signing all the paperwork for the closing of the home we were purchasing, we waited for Knipp to file the sale with the register of deeds so they could wire the proceeds from our sale to our closing attorneys. 2 hours after closing, we received an email from our attorneys stating that Knipp had just sent them a document for us to sign that they had forgotten to include in the original package. We signed electronically and our attorneys sent the document back to Knipp. An hour later, still no word that the wire transfer had gone through. We decided to call Knipp ourselves to see what the filing status was on the sale of our house. The paralegal handling our case told us that it had been filed with the register of deeds and they were awaiting confirmation that the deed had been recorded. Knipp also informed us that they were awaiting the wiring instructions for the proceed of our sale. When I reminded the paralegal that we had sent the wiring instructions several days ago, she told me that wiring instructions sent through email were not accepted, and needed to be sent through a secure messaging platform. Neither my wife and I, nor our attorneys had been informed of this; for some reason Knipp did not seem to think it was important to let us know that a specific method of communicating wiring instructions was necessary after we had sent them those instructions over email. After sending the wiring instructions, we waited for about 15-30 more minutes before my wife thought to call the Register of Deeds to see if Knipp had filed everything correctly, as we didn't have much faith in them at this point. Upon speaking with someone in the Register of Deeds, my wife discovered that not only had the sale not been recorded, it was not even showing up in their system. The sale thankfully popped up as my wife was on the phone with the Register of Deeds. Not sure why Knipp seemingly chose to lie to us about the state of our filing, nor keep us waiting around for THREE HOURS after our closing. Comically poor communication and clear indifference as to whether my wife and I were inconvenienced. Wish I could give 0 stars. Avoid Knipp Law like the plague.

For me, lawyers have been condescending, cold, not empathetic, pompous, pilfering, etc. An attorney is supposed to make you feel better. You should feel like someone has your back. That your confident that the attorney will do their job. If your being bullied, etc. The attorney is suppose to stop the bullying. When the attorney does nothing it makes you feel worse (you already feel horrible, scared, etc). Normally you pay upfront for their service. Now, you feel like your money was stolen from the attorney. It usually is a large amount of money. doesn't matter how much money is paid. i'm a poverty person. an attorney stole my money. no problem stealing from the poor. The job wasn't done and it made u feel worse. An attorney not returning your calls. you could do a call every other day. the attorney doesn't return your call. that makes you feel, worse, worried (is the attorney going to do the job correctly and communicate with me), you may be ripped off, distressed, etc. An attorney has the label "counselor". Just like going to a social worker for "counseling".
