New York Style Pizza or Brooklyn style pizza. If you've been to New York that you know what the spot is. If you're not been to New York or to Brooklyn, well, you're gonna have a good education. This restaurant started in Brooklyn. And now it's in Dallas. New York style pizza. Yes it is thin crust so worth. The pizza is really really good. Crust is amazing and tasty. Drink well that is off the chain. Price point if you are sharing then it's not expensive. So ignore the other people who says it expensive it is not.. and if they're saying it expensive, clearly they have not been to New York at all. Even if you get a whole pie it is not expensive. It is a typical price point of a pizza. The staff is absolutely amazing very kind, generous and always with amazing smile. It really depends on the date and the time most likely you can still get a reservation when you walk in. If you did not make a reservation, walk in are most welcome and they will get you in right away. Ambience, it really all depends on the date. It's still a good looking place with a classic Italian feel but it's lost its energy. The host stand, bartender, and servers care more for their phones, and cutting up with their coworker friends, than their customers. When they are present, they are really friendly, just poorly trained and self serving. They come before you. The food remains on point...if you can get it. The neighborhood is rooting for you but we will find a replacement. read more

I'll start by saying I love the pizza and that they have a good wine list. But I went to pick up my to go order last week and have a quick glass of wine. I was the only one at the bar but I wasn't greeted by the bartender and had to ask her if I could order something. I ordered a glass of wine and she just walked away into the kitchen. She was gone for a few minutes and then came back out walking without purpose. I have no clue what she went in the back for when the wine is at the bar. I had to ask if she was going to pour me my glass of wine. Then she tried to pour red wine when I ordered white. She was drinking her coffee she made right out of the shaker. There was personal food and AirPods out on the bar top. There was dirty dished all over the bar but no guests there and she never got around to cleaning it. She left the white bottle open and on the bar and wandered off to talk to other employees. It was just really sloppy and poor service. Great atmosphere! Very good and fun workers. Always wanted to try Grimaldi's! Finally a spontaneous Friday we decided to pick this place. We came at the right time because it suddenly became a storm! We ordered the Caesar's salad large and it was a big bowl and tasteful. Also we ordered the Don! The pizza took a while to come out, almost close to an hour. It was a very long time. Our pizza holder was a little slanted and once the pizza was placed down, we grabbed a slice.. the whole thing tipped over. Our awesome waiter Crystal was there at the rescue immediately and was able to request another one quickly! She was superb awesome! All in all, service was great! Pizza was only OK for me! I'm perplexed that Grimaldi's doesn't have 5 stars. My experience was nothing short of amazing from the pizza to the service. This location is also downright beautiful. You walk in and you forget you're in uptown Dallas because you feel like you're immediately transported to little Italy in New York. It's delightfully decorated to give you that nice Italian charm. The pizza itself was so good, it has that nice traditional New York style taste. For me the secret is in the sauce. It's has a tangy sweet sauce that delivers such a delicious taste. I don't recall it being very expensive either which is another plus as well. The final verdict I loved it and yes I will be coming back. read more

New York Pizza Heaven in Dallas! I haven't had the original Grimaldi's in years and have been so hesitant to try the chain here in Dallas. I had a walk in order at around 7pm and it took 45 + min for me to receive a 12 inch traditional pie. I don't know why it took so long when there weren't much to-go orders or people dining. My traditional pie was yummy. Perfect coal brick oven pie with a thin crust just like home. The tomato sauce was acidic and sweet. It had the perfect amount of cheese. Definitely make sure you ask for parmesan and red pepper flakes to take your slice up a notch. I was a bit disappointed the waitress didn't let me know about the rewards program and when I inquired she said well it's too late to get points once I purchased. But it's water under the bridge. Just pro top: download the app to receive points for your orders! Will I come again? Yes. But I wouldn't expect much from the service. read more

We came Sunday lunch. The restaurant was full. Ambiance is good. It was busy and lively without being too loud. Service by April was excellent. He was attentive and very courteous. He gave a good explanation on the menus. We ordered Margherita and The Don. I usually prefer thick crust pizzas, but they only serve thin crusts. It was all good. I liked their thin crusts. It was tasty. I was a bit disappointed with the Margherita. I was expecting tomatoes and herbs. It had tomato sauce only. It's my fault, I did not read the menu correctly. The Don was perfect. For the first time, I finally tried Grimaldis and I absolutely love it! I went on a weekday before 3pm (while they were cleaning the ovens), so it was quiet and less busy. I decided to wait and while waiting I ordered a salad (not in photos) and antipasto for my appetizers. My waitress was nice and attentive, she made sure me and my partner was taken care of the whole time we were there. When 3pm finally came, we ordered a Margherita Pizza with pepperoni for our main dish. My salad and antipasto was very refreshing, and my pizza was delicious. What I love about the pizza is how smokey it was due to it being cooked in a coal brick oven. I admire how you can see the cooks hand making the pizzas and I love how authentic every food item is. Besides food, I love the vibe here. It feels like you've traveled back in time to New York with all of the classic music they play, the brick walls, the pictures on the wall, and the warm dim lights. This place has the BEST pizza! The brisket pizza is my fav but it's seasonal. The white garlic pizza and cheesecake should not be skipped. The service is a bit slow but worth the wait. Not sure what's up at this location. Something has changed with the taste of crust and pizza overall the last two times I have dined here.. Pizza tastes bland , the crust tastes like dish water (I've never tasted dishwater, but that's what it reminds me of for some reason!). The great Grimaldi's taste/flavor is gone. Caesar salad appeared to have been just thrown together with no care of the appearance or quality of romaine leaves thrown in. I really prefer this location over park lane but will need to reconsider going to west village location next time I get hankering for some more Grimaldi's. One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. Hosts seem disengaged with walk-in's, one was wearing headphones and later eating pizza at the host stand. The other who sat us seemed completely out of it and it was incredibly hard to hear her speak.
