Turns out the old pipe was a 3" pipe, and should've been a 4", it also had a couple of 45° angles in it, and someone years back had tried to snake it with a 1/2" piece of pvc which had snapped off inside and was creating a terrible clog. We helped dig it out and chatted. He's very mellow and personable and humorous! He was pretty booked, too, but managed to squeeze us in after another job, which was great, especially considering it was right before a major week-long snow storm. There wasn't many plumbing companies that had any reviews, which is honestly why I went with Alford…read morePlumbing - since they had a few. Not only were they able to come out same day, but two employees came out to handle a simple clog that I couldn't seem to locate. The biggest thing that stood out to me about them is that they took a picture of the problem, and it seems all the prices are 'standard' via the tablet they carried. There was no prices that he had to think up off the top of his head or that he had to call into the office to see how much he should charge. Their software/tablet seemed to have the 'standard prices' already configured in. Their truck also had numerous accessories - which was convenient when I wanted to replace a few cosmetic things without them having to run and go get it at a store. Professional, clean, even had those little throwaway shoe covers - will definitely use again.
