This historic bus station has been beautifully transformed into a café that honors its past while feeling fresh and inviting. The moment you walk in, you notice the mix of old architecture and modern touches. The menu is also impressive: rich Yemeni coffee and smooth Turkish brews pair perfectly with the fresh pastries, which are made daily and with care. Sandwiches come with meat sliced in-house; the quality is in the taste! Service was outstanding, warm and attentive without being rushed. It's the kind of place where you want to linger, sip your coffee slowly, and soak in the atmosphere. We also enjoyed the live music on Saturday midday.

I went to Griffin Lounge where the old bus station was in Petersburg, let's review. Interior: I don't have much to say but the inside looked pretty nice and soothing as well as the little lounge they have. 8/10 Service: The staff were pretty nice and friendly and they took their sweet time serving me. 8/10 Food: The coffee I ordered was pretty good, the dubai chocolate (which is the first time I've had it) was refrigerated and savory and the breakfast sandwich was so delicious it was worth every bite of it. 9.5/10 Overall this is a pretty nice looking and tasty coffee shop if you're looking for breakfast or dessert. 8.5/10

Griffin's Burger, fries, garlic aioli with a Hibiscus tea and Griffin's lemonade!

The Griffin Burger is yummy, some of the best fries I've had and I'm dipping in the garlic aioli. Hibiscus Tea and Griffin's Lemonade tastes as good as it looks! Place is really cool as well. Highly recommend!

The historic greyhound station is now Griffin lounge, serving coffee, sandwiches, pastries, etc. I love that they kept a lot of the original character of the station. I ordered the chicken, egg and cheese breakfast croissant and a caramel latte.....both amazing....the staff were so welcoming and accommodating! I can't wait to return on my next trip home.

Pastries in the display look oh so tempting!

I've passed by Griffin Lounge several times walking to or from work and today I let my curiosity win out as I hadn't had my morning coffee. I ordered a cappuccino to start which definitely was needed, and then the Coffee Husk to-go that definitively didn't disappoint!! Tess provided excellent service with a smile, other staff including Tracy and fellow customers were personable and the atmosphere is relaxing yet refreshing and nostalgic all at the same time. I highly recommend and will be returning, ideally to become a recognized regular.

This is the cutest cafe and coffee shop! I stopped here to get a bite to eat and work for a couple of hours on my way to northern Virginia, and I'm so glad that I did. The breakfast sandwich was warm and delicious, the Turkish coffee was fabulous, and the service was very friendly and attentive. Also, the pastry case was trouble, I took several things to try later, and none of them disappointed. Would definitely make a point of stopping by here again!

We stopped by here because we go by every single day and when I checked out their social media, it said they had the viral Dubai chocolate bar. They did have a version of it but I wasn't a fan. It was a very thin layer of the pistachio cream. You could hardly taste it. Since I was there, I also grabbed this very fancy cake. After the staff asking each other what it was, I was told it was a vanilla cake with a strawberry cream layers. It was not. It was very purple on the inside. Looked and tasted as if it was an Ube flavor. It was a vanilla cream on the inside. I thought the outside was a candy shell and surprisingly, it was some type of gel. It was delicious but I'm glad I wasn't allergic because they did not know what they sold me. The staff were very nice and sweet. We will be back to try something else.

I don't even know where to start about how amazing this place is. Can I add more than 5 stars? Hubs and I went in around 11 on a Friday morning and were greeted by the friendliest young man. He welcomed us and asked if we had questions and we started to look over the menu where EVERYTHING looks delicious. Hubs asked about the Moroccan tea since he has fond memories of friends making *the best* tea ever. The young man gave him a sample of it and it was delicious. Not quite as good as the nostalgia of the one his friends always made, but definitely the second best one he has ever had. Having never had it before myself, I thought it was delicious. We eventually settle on a latte with cardamom for me, a Turkish coffee for him, as well as Moroccan tea. We also narrowed down our choices for pastries we wanted from the case, and were able to narrow it down to four different options. We were going to take all the coffees to go, but the guy suggested we might want to try the Turkish coffee there so we could get more of that fresh brewed flavor. He knows what he is talking about because holy wow, it was so good. I don't think I have ever drank coffee that didn't require a ton of sugar and cream, but this was amazing. It was so smooth and rich and flavorful and I don't even have the words to describe it. I can name the words it wasn't: Not bitter. Not acidic. Not stale. It was incredible. My cardamom latte was delicious too, and I have probably only ever found cardamom at one other coffee shop, which is a crying shame because it is one of my favorite things ever. It was sooooooooo good. The Moroccan tea was so good, with a rich delicious tea flavor coming in, and a delicate fresh mint flavor when you exhale. He told my husband how they import the tea from Morocco and grow their mint in the back. It was sooooooooo good. You can definitely tell that they aren't just popping in a bag of Lipton and calling it a day. I am trying to restrain myself from inhaling all of the desserts, but so far I have tried the fluffiest, creamiest, most delicious piece of pistachio cake in existence, and this lovely little cinnamon cake thing, I believe called a shkar. It has this really unique texture, sort of like when you let honey soak all up in your cornbread... it is soaked in this sugar syrup. It is so hard to explain, but it was delicious. The pistachio cake though... I would dive head first into that thing if I could. It is fluffy, it is the perfect texture, it is flavorful. I am drooling just writing about it and trying not to go downstairs and eat the half I am saving for my kiddos. This place is really cool too. It is on a one way street, so be in the left lane preparing to turn into their designated parking lot. Recently paved, it is in great condition and there is tons of parking, which is actually pretty rare in the historic downtown section of Petersburg. Great for the character of the town, not great for your car tires... The inside is open and airy, but still has those gorgeous old world vibes: gold accents, rich color, gorgeous comfy seating. The young man said they even have a cigar lounge in the back that Hubs would have loved to go explore, but we got completely distracted by the gentleman singing live. He has the voice of an angel and at first we thought we were listening to a radio, but were floored when we realized it was an actual person sitting 10 feet from us. I hope they post online when he is going to be there because I would listen to him sing the menu. I cannot wait to go back, try all the rest of the drinks, demolish the brunch menu, and work my way through the dessert case while listening to that gentleman croon.

I visited Griffin Lounge and unexpectedly discovered a hidden gem in Petersburg, VA. What started as a quick breakfast turned into a three-hour experience I truly enjoyed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile by AJ, who immediately made us feel welcome. I asked how long they had been open and about the history of the building, and AJ explained everything with impressive detail and passion. I learned that the building was formerly the Petersburg bus station, a segregated facility during the Jim Crow era. The space that now serves as the cigar lounge was once designated for white passengers only. In 1960, the station became the site of a series of sit-ins led by Petersburg pastors and civil rights leaders, including Wyatt Tee Walker, former Chief of Staff to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The historical significance of this landmark is still very present and officially registered. Remarkably, you can still see dark spots on the floor from fires that were burned to keep warm during the sit-ins. This bus station ultimately became one of the first integrated bus stations in Virginia. After taking in the history, I explored the menu and ordered the shakshuka, an Arabic dish featuring eggs simmered in a spiced tomato sauce with sautéed peppers and caramelized onions. I paired it with a sand-brewed coffee experience, which was both unique and fascinating to watch. I also ordered the croissant steak and cheese, made with caramelized onions, melted white American cheese, and a freshly baked in-house croissant. To complement it, I enjoyed golden tea, steeped with evaporated milk, clove, cinnamon, and cardamom. All of their pastries are made fresh in-house daily. For dessert, I tried the peanut butter Reese's cookie, and it did not disappoint. After breakfast, I discovered their cigar lounge, which is spacious and well-designed with a wide selection of cigars and plenty of seating for everyone. After spending some time in the cigar lounge and enjoying a game of chess, we returned to the restaurant to relax with a couple of beverages. We ordered the Turkish lemonade and hibiscus tea, both refreshing and well crafted. To top it off, there was a gentleman performing live music on a Friday morning no less which added an unexpected and delightful touch to the experience. A special thank you to AJ for taking the time to elevate our experience at Griffin Lounge. Your attention to detail, menu knowledge, coffee experience, and exceptional customer service along with the entire staff made our first visit unforgettable. I highly recommend Griffin Lounge for brunch. You will not be disappointed.

What a gem!! Griffin Cigar Lounge and Cafe is truly special. Blending in great Turkish coffee, sandwiches and freshly baked pastries/cakes while keeping the historic charm and history. They also roast, ground and make their own coffee and bake their pastries fresh daily. The steak, egg, cheese croissant was delicious....also their Turkish lemonade (made of orange zest, lemon and lime juice). My favorite part of the restaurant is the nice lady Teresa that works there that was not only helpful and kind but had the best experience warming smile that made us felt so welcome! Thank you Teresa!

The customers were grown, sexy and engaging. A place where the boys can hang out together or when they feel like bringing a woman they can do that too or us girls. Just as long as you are grown no foolishness here. It's a great vibe, that kind of place! My cousin had the chicken and waffles. I didn't taste that chicken, but it smelled absolutely delicious and she loved it. And baby, those dry rub wings are the thing to get! My waffle was one of the best that I've had, a little firmness with flavor, the bacon was crisp without being burnt. I loved the pineapple mimosa. Kierra(sp) our server was excellent. This was a cool place!…read more Packed with everything, all you need for a vape and smoke shop. Even nice pocket knives ! I Came looking for rolling papers for my British colleague who still rolls his cigs with high quality tobacco- does it in less than a minute. Damnit So was just going to buy either 1.5 or smaller standard but there was hemp, cones, 20 cigars ,Phillies, swisher sweets, any blunt wraps you want. Really do have soooo many choices. A lot of vapes, coils, juices , mods. Prices were a bit higher than in GA but Savannah cut me a break and really knew her products. And as I picked things, she made sure I got the best pairings to keep cost down. Picked up a small Vape with -0- Nic juice to mix with CBD I use for stress and arthritis. I get my cbd somewhere else, but they had many. Just having her baby sit me, help me around the entire counter helps. I picked out quite a few fun things too- cheap!! They had a lot of the really new "vintage " ashtrays - heavy glass with Bob Marley or just a 5 leaf stem. Glass pipes, even cold cokes and snacks. Just a fun place to go. After I checked out, I found another isle ,went back and browsed , and bought 1 more thing!! She laughed at me . Great place. Should have all you need . Highly recommend .
