I did not hesitate to buy it. I am thrilled with my rifle purchase, the expertice, professional skill and customer care I received. A round trip to Mac's is an 80 mile trip for me (Hawkins, to the North). I passed several gun shops on the way. It was well worth the effort for me. Mac's is now MY gun store. My only gun store. Do yourself a big favor and do business there. At least visit and meet the guys. Stop by several times. I guarantee you'll be impressed.

I travel for work and make a point to stop in firearm stores wherever I go, so I have a good basis for comparison. Unfortunately, the customer service wasn't very welcoming the day I stopped in. It almost felt like I was interrupting their non-busy day. There were no other paying customers in the store at the time, and I was ready to make a deal--but that didn't happen here. They did have a nice selection, which I'll give them credit for. However, between the higher prices, sales tax, and an added credit card fee, it just didn't make sense for me.

These are great for guys with big heads (like me) or women with tiny waists. This is also my go-to place for cast iron pots, pans, and dutch ovens. I almost bought a blow dart gun the last time I was there! Even of you don't buy anything (good luck with that), just shopping here is an adventure!

My only real complaint that keeps it from being 5 stars is the rifle range. It was not designed for medium range/combat rifles like AR-15s/etc (the most popular rifle in America). There's a very restrictive 'cone' you have to shoot through and it seems designed for long range, 5-round max hunting rifles were in mind rather than things like AR-15s. Would recommend setting up at least a couple 'open' booths like the pistol range has. So I can't really shoot my standard 30 round mag kinda rifles here, only come for the pistol range which is sad. Note, not sure why it says I'm in the shitty city of SF ... I live near Tyler.
