And when buses do arrive, they're filled to capacity. The only good thing about NICE is that it's fairly cheap. You can travel from Jamaica, Queens to the Nassau-Suffolk border for $2.90 (you'll spend all day doing so). MetroCards are accepted on NICE. And with that said, if it's possible, avoid using NICE bus.

For explanation read on: I usually walk from work to LIRR station, but with the unusually cold temperatures I decided to take a cab. To avoid any glitches I tried to plan ahead. I found this place and called them during lunch to ask about getting a taxi in the evening. I was told to call half an hr ahead and was given a very reasonable price quote. I called 40 minutes ahead, and just in case asked them to come earlier than I actually needed. After they were a few minutes late I decided to call and find out where my cab was. No one picked up! I started getting anxious because I was late for my train. For about TEN minutes NO ONE was picking up, sometimes I would even get a busy signal! So I went back to my desk and called from my work number. Immediately someone picked up. I demanded to know where my taxi was and the dispatcher told me it would be there in two minutes and for me to go and wait outside. That is what I did, as I was late for my train. Luckily my coworker offered me a lift to the train station. Since the dispatcher never called me back, I am pretty sure the cab never even showed up. The fact that the dispatcher told me to go and wait outside for a cab that never showed in about 8 degree wintery weather makes me wish yelp didn't offer even one star. Bottom line never again!
