Dropped son off at 0630 for one way trip to Colorado Springs. No one to ask questions about where to wait. Made it to Wyoming where he was dropped off in Cheyenne Wyoming for transfer. Received notice bus was delayed over 24 hours. No place to wait as was dropped at truck stop and they wouldn't let passengers wait inside. He ended up getting an Uber to the Springs. About $600 for one way trip. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Help line was absolutely worthless. I got to the wrong station (my fault but the station i went to was the second next stop on my trip) I attempted to call the help line to see if I needed to buy a whole new ticket or if I could just get on at the station I was at with my current ticket. The number on the website is not for greyhound and after accidentally calling the disability help line, I realized it isn't even a proper phone number. First of all, it's not Greyhound anymore. It's Northwestern. At least that's wat the buses say. The emails come from Greyhound, the app says Greyhound and all other correspondence says Greyhound. wen u get to the address it shows on the app, the building has a big sign in it's window saying Greyhound moved to 2499 ---?----?. Wen u put that address in.....it says u arrived, while sitting in parking garage. Along with the fact that this closed office building or this location is also used by Pierce transit. This makes it nearly impossible to identify the greyhound buses you r looking for because they say Northwestern, not Greyhound. Evidentially they have CLOSED the office entirely and not moved it at all. The fact that they use two cross streets as their location simply means that the bus driver is the only customer service agent you will b talking to, if u r lucky enough to figure all of this out before your bus leaves. Lord knows you won't b able to figure it out using their "contact us" option, or the "help" or "customer service" choice on their app (it just takes you in circles, I bought a BUS ticket not a CIRCUS ticket). It only gets worse if you call, not only do they disconnect you consistently, the wait times are ridiculous. The options are limited without covering any of the things that people need help with. If you do happen to get a live person on the phone, their accent is usually so heavy, you can't understand anything they say, except maybe, hello. I still don't know if they knew wat I was saying or asking, cuz they certainly didn't solve any of my problems or concerns and we're more interested in making excuses for their extremely poor service. Even after talking to "Johanna", a supervisor, she was not receptive or possessed accurate information regarding any of the issues I had with locating the bus, {adamant about informing the ticket buyer on the ticket of the name change- all correspondence and headings say Greyhound except in one place where Northwestern was added to the ticket that says Greyhound.} Johanna refused to provide another ticket at no charge because I had not called 15 minutes before the scheduled trip. I had been on hold for 20 minutes before my trip, but the call took so long to b answered, I was well beyond the 15 min cut off time. Big surprise she could find no record of my earlier call. All in all, it was a horrible experience. I have a heart condition and was having a hard time breathing, trying to carry my luggage back and forth (was making me sick) trying to find my bus. All the while, the bus was sitting across the street, not with a Greyhound name, but Northwestern (nothing on door says Northwestern, only Greyhound). Pierce county transit sat next to them--never did find Greyhound, evidentially never will. read more

Where do I start? My fiancé took this company's bus from Tacoma WA all the way to LA California not only was the bus late but when he was in the bus it broke down for 6 hours until another one had to come and pick up the rest of the people who were on it. He's finally coming home after 8 days and again the bus broke down once again and now he made it to Sacramento CA but everyone one including him is STRANDED on the streets in a super shady ghetto area for 7 HOURS with the station closed and only 1 security guard who won't let anyone in to rest up until the next bus comes. Super inhumane, illegal as fuck and super not okay and unsafe. Mind you he asked another bus driver going that way if it was okay to let him and 1 other person in while there's 2 bus drivers in the same bus told him no. Again you all aren't professional at all and you will be shut down ASAP if you don't fix this issue. You shouldn't be running this shady company if you're going to not do your job right. read more

If you wanna take-home-a girl, come to Tacoma. I mean, I'd rather be in a Tacoma than in a coma am I right though. Right in front of the beautiful Tacoma downtown, you will find this station which serves for Greyhounds and local buses and trains and everything. It's also at the lovely Tacoma Dome and serves as the regional transit hub, and is pretty damn great. It's right in the heart of Tacoma, so it's perfect and it's pretty modern and large as well. Apparently in 2030 there will be a very fast train that will go from Tacoma to the airport to Federal Way and to Seattle's Downtown. That will be pretty awesome for everyone that lives around here. In any case I first came here when I was touring the West Coast on Greyhound buses when I was 18, and I've been back here on two occasions since and it has definitely been jazzed and cleaned up since then - and it's a pretty damn good station. read more

Note: this is about their Package Express service, but it seemed like no Greyhound reps were available: Hard to say whether their actual customer service experience is actually good or not because they weren't even open when I arrived to deliver a package to my parents. Their office was closed. I noticed the sign inside mentioned something about moving in the future but that didn't apply to me. I arrived within the proper business hours, no holiday, or anything else that might result in them being closed. I called the main customer service line, the representative also didn't know why they were closed. Since I was trying to ship a package on my way to Los Angeles, I had to change my drop-off point to Portland instead. What a waste of an hour. read more

I booked a trip from Tacoma WA to Seattle WA on July 23rd at 3am to return from a comedy show that ended around 11:30pm on July 22nd. There were two main issues with my trip: 1. The trips available were not very accommodating- the last trip back to Seattle for July 22nd was around 9:30pm. So I was forced to wait until the 3am trip- a wait of 3.5 hours for a drive of less than one hour. I was able to kill a couple hours until the original start time of the trip. However, about an hour before the bus was supposed arrive, I received a message that the bus was delayed 50 minutes to 3:50 am. I waited about 40 minutes and received another message that the bus was delayed an additional 30 minutes to 4:22 am. 2. I waited for over two hours until I decided, for safety purposes, to find another way to get home (I was a young woman sitting at an open bus stop for over 2.5 hours in the early hours of the morning). The bus finally arrived at about 4:30 am. I reached out to customer service to request a refund for the trip and was initially told "After further validation we could not find any delay or cancelation on your trip. Unfortunately, the ticket you submitted has no refund value." This was clearly not correct as I had proof of multiple delays to which I provided this evidence to customer service. At that point, I was told the following: "in accordance to our Terms & Conditions, no refund is possible. Unless one of the two cases below apply: 1. Cancellation on our side. 2. Delay of more than two hours and the passenger does not take the trip." Aside from the crappy policy that the delay has two be at least two hours to warrant a refund, it was extremely frustrating that no consideration was taken in regard to the timing of the trip and my general safety. read more

do not take greyhound or purchase a greyhound ticket online! i purchased a ticket from pullman wa stop to geg spokane airport and the bus never showed up! no warning, no update, no notification, just did not show! i had a flight to catch! do not rely on greyhound!! to make it worse, greyhound will not give me a refund for the ticket!!! they said i purchased a non refundable ticket, which their website did not give me options for non refundable or refundable!! they expect me to pay for a bus that did not show!!! if there was a zero star i would give a zero!! read more

On December 23rd, I rode Greyhound from Tacoma, WA to Los Angeles, CA. I initially changed my departure time to later than it had originally been. When the bus was late, I didn't mind. It was a nuisance, but I didn't mind because I expected some travel challenges. The ride was smooth, although the promised WiFi sucks and isn't worth relying on. On January 1st, I returned from Los Angeles, CA back to Tacoma, WA. I had once again changed my ticket to a later time. However, it turns out that even though I paid an extra $20 for the ticket change, there was actually no room for me on the bus. But by that time my checked suitcase had already been put on the bus and the bus was already leaving. I was promised by an employee that because my suitcase was labelled with its destination (Tacoma, WA) and my contact information (name & number), it would arrive around the same time as me. It's now been almost 3 weeks and I still don't have my suitcase. When I first started calling around, I got the run around. Different people were giving me different numbers for different departments and stations without giving me any significantly helpful information. I received a tracer #, a reference #, & another Greyhound employee promising solid results that I would never actually receive (that they'd keep me updated on the progress of their search attempts). Finally, I remembered that the last place I physically saw my suitcase was in Sacramento, CA while returning to Tacoma, WA. So I called their Greyhound station only to catch an employee as he was entering my suitcase information into the system. Once he verified that I was indeed the owner of the suitcase, he assured me that it would be on the next bus out and to be expecting it the following day at the Tacoma Greyhound station. Needless to say, it was another empty promise. I called the Tacoma Greyhound station around the time the bus my suitcase was supposedly on was supposed to arrive. No suitcase had been delivered and the employee encouraged me to call the Seattle Greyhound station because it might have been taken there. Once again, I was being given the runaround with no end in sight. I'm hurt. I'm tired. I'm frustrated. I'm sad. I had gifts from family and friends in that suitcase, souvenirs and other tokens of affection. I was promised that there would be problem. I was assured that I'd see my suitcase in no time. Yet, when things got bad, I got a lot of people who seemed to not so subtly blame me for their mistake. Now I'm being told that I'll be lucky if I get compensation and various employees seem bored of me asking for help even when we first get on the phone. The ride itself wasn't that bad. I could appreciate the view. But the aftermath of riding Greyhound has put me off utilizing those services for quite some time--if ever again. read more

Woman at the Greyhound Ticket Counter was so fantastic to me in helping me a) know the rules for a refund, b) helping me with my refund, c) going out of her way to suggest practical ways I could nurse myself back to health. I was in tears about having to cancel and spacey about when to reschedule. I was semi-poisoned from getting stung by bees several times (and all swollen) and couldn't think, but she was patient, calm and understanding. That really took the pressure off. It's hard to have planned a trip for weeks and then have to undo all the planning but her whole friendliness made it less traumatic than I was feeling. Thank you Lady! Shannon M. Tacoma to Butte, MT was the worst 17 hours of my life. They moved my leave time up by 2 hours, but of course there was not notification even though I bought my ticket online. Good thing I had to pick up my tickets early before the terminal closed or I would have missed it. The employees were rude and the buses were filthy. I had left my jacket on the bus and when I called several places to inquire about getting it back, I was finally referred to a rude broad in Billings. I will never see that coat again and didn't even receive a "yes we looked and didn't find it" call even though the rude person said she would. Yuck, I will never do this again. read more

Don't take Greyhound. They don't honor reservations, they give misleading statements on their website, they charge $18 "gift" fee if you are buying the ticket for someone else. They are terrible. I've taken buses in 3rd world countries that are better than this. I'm going back to the train and local buses. read more
