Worst and most dangerous experience of my life! They don't give credits or refunds for taking your money and herding you like cattle. Rude and yelling at 4am during a change. Bus broke down in the middle of nowhere, 6 HOURS off schedule, no body cares, bathroom like a port-a-potty, people coughing and sneezing without covering their mouths, bus freezing, no microwaves, rude attendants, drug users, no place for children, please be safe riding this death trap and don't expect to make it on schedule. Original departure time 9:15pm Sunday actual departure time 9:45pm Sunday Original arrival time was 8:40pm Monday, Actual arrival time 2am Monday And didn't go to my arrival city Newark NJ, it went to Manhattan NY at 2am ‍ Please just fly! Even if your layed overnight! Fly!

It's freezing in these buses!! May 2019

I took a trip from Richmond to Myrtle Beach to visit my daughter and then back home. The ride went well except for some the bus drivers were very rude to some of the passengers for no reason at all. They will snap at you for asking a simple question. Also the bus felt like it was 65° I know it was a warm day but thank God I packed a jacket and blanket on the bus. I felt sorry for a few people who had summer clothes on and that was it. They were all shivering and miserable. I'm going to visit my daughter again in a couple weeks but this time I will drive myself. --Richmond VA. Gal

Yikes! You guys had me prepared for the worst at this Greyhound Bus Station, but everything turned out OK. Bought a ticket from Richmond to DC for $14 online (+ $2.50 credit card fee, I think). Staff at the station was friendly enough, and the bus was only about 10 minutes late. My bus happened to be really empty, so it was a nice and peaceful ride up. The power outlets didn't work on the bus, but the wifi did. Overall very few complaints for the price.

Is there parking? What is the cost?

    Free parking.

Is this station safe at 4 or 5 am? I am planning a trip and have a 4 hour layover here.

Hi. I have been for even a 6 hour delay with Greyhound, and the Richmond station is super safe. There are red metal benches, lots of them, and so you do not have to stand. There are large bathroom areas and a lot of staff. The ladies who work at… Read more

Since Winn Transportation is representing a bus crash involving children as just a "bus stuck in…read morethe mud," I must share proof. The crash report was filed by state police with local case number DIV125041479 and lists driver's loss of control of the bus as the cause. My 12yo son was on a Winn Transportation bus for a school field trip when it crashed on April 23, 2025. The driver passed the exit ramp for 150 southbound onto Hull street. The bus hit the Exit sign on the other side of the ramp, rode along the guardrail on the wrong (grass) side, drove over an embankment, and bottomed out on mud and rocks at the bottom, which stopped the bus. Children sustained concussions, injured leg. A chaperoning teacher was at the front of the bus and was covered in glass when the sign bounced up and broke the windshield. Injuries are confirmed in the crash report. I spoke with Mark Winters of Winn Transportation on May 1st to learn what actions they were taking to prevent this from happening again. I'm concerned because they're an approved contractor for future school field trips and I now have concerns about the safety of their services. He was very unwilling to consider any fault of the driver or the bus and was rude and combative that I would even imply that there was any fault on their end. He said that if I was "so worried about it, I can just drive my kid myself instead of letting them ride the bus next time." When I asked why the driver told parent chaperones and police (confirmed in police report) that the "bus lost power" and that was what caused the accident, he became very angry and said that was a lie and that the driver never said that. He also confirmed that the same bus had been used in another trip only a few days after the accident. I found this concerning because the bus had definitely been damaged in the accident, including underneath when it was stopped on the rocks. A significant amount of oil was left behind after a tow truck was used to pull the bus out. I caution you against using Winn Transportation. They displayed their disregard for the safety of a bus full of children and did not demonstrate an interest in addressing the issue in a way that would keep future trips safe. UPDATE to reply to Mark's response. I'll add as a picture, in case he edits it later. - Either Winn Transportation is not aware of the official report being a crash report with injuries and cause listed that was filed at the end of May, or he's lying. - I spoke with Mark on May 1st for more than 2 hours on the phone when I called him to ask about the crash. I am not anonymous to him. - Injuries are noted in the crash report - The damage to the bus, sign, etc., are noted in the crash report. - The other parts of his story, including the portrayal of the driver as a hero and the wet conditions of the road, can all be confirmed in the crash report as false. - In addition to "washing the mud off of the tires" I hope they also replaced the windshield and repaired whatever caused that oil spillage (see pictures). This is information he can look up and confirm. He and I agree on one thing. I also hope my children never have to ride on one of their buses again.

Not only was he fun and energetic, but he drove and maneuvered that giant bus like a pro! If it wasn't for his skills, we'd still be stuck at Wintergreen! Great experience for our corporate trip - will definelty be booking and requesting Ivan for the future. Thanks Winn team!
