Bought ticket for bus from Fresno to San Fernando. Bus broke down in Bakersfield. After waiting over two hours, bus driver could not advise when replacement bus would arrive or repair would be completed. Bus driver assured me I would receive refund if I did not continue with the bus. Called customer service requesting refund. Was assured I would receive a refund. Made alternative transportation arrangements. Customer service refused refund because I had boarded the bus, despite the fact that the replacement bus ultimately did not arrive until 3.5 hours after the breakdown and all passengers were left stranded for that time baking in the sun at a location where the nearest services (including water) were over a mile away and over a highway overpass. In short, Greyhound failed to deliver services paid for, refused to issue even a partial refund for their failure, and lied about the availability of the refund. Bad value under all circumstances; will never use their services again. read more

I like cold weather sometimes. Do I like for it to Freeze? No. At 2660 Tulare Street you will find the Greyhound bus station for Fresno. It's a good station, and it's large and underrated, in a massive and somewhat dangerous and rough City. It's hard to get around the city without a car and it's hard to get to this Greyhound station without a car, which was just one of the problems I had here, even though it's not too far from Highways and downtown and whatnot. I was robbed in Fresno. When I played a show here they stole my tip jar. I was accosted sleeping at truck stops here. I was offered drugs here. They started a viral campaign against me filled with lies and malice and violent threats through the internet, and I'm fairly sure that the people who robbed me were connected to that. The person that started it all works for the Fresno Bee and they'll be getting a nice review from me accordingly. So it's one of my least fave towns in America, and easily the most dangerous in Cali in my opinion. There's lots of palm trees here, and don't let that fool you. I'm not a huge big fan of this Fresno passenger Depot which is also known as Fresno station, but the station itself is beautiful and old and historic. The trains and Greyhound and regional transit services including Fresno area bus is all stop here and it looks like an old Spanish fort or something, so it's really pretty. It's known as the Santa Fe passenger Depot which can be a little bit confusing and looks like an old Spanish Mill or something. Pretty nice. The correct address is 2660 Tulare St, Google maps still thinks it's on H street. My teen son boarded his bus about 10 min before it was scheduled to leave. We did arrive an hour earlier but probably would have been ok arriving 30 min early. The counter staff was friendly and the inside waiting area was decent. The bathroom seemed pretty busy the entire time we waited so perhaps use the bathroom before coming to the station. I would send my son by bus again here. read more

WORST WORST EXPERIENCES EVER! I have never written reviews on Yelp because I am just lazy. But this time I am obliged to help people who really need a bus driver to be on time. Please don't waste your time and money with Greyhound. This is not the first time I take Greyhound bus. The first time it delayed 4 hours in Fresno and I almost missed my flight in LA. I thought I would give another chance and thought it was just a one time thing. So i booked my ticket the second time taking Greyhound bus to LA for an interview at 2pm. The 7.45am ticket got canceled because it was LATE. And the receptionist told me to take the bus at 9.05a.m. And it was LATE again. The bus started at 9.35 a.m. And I missed my interview!!! The drivers do not care about being on time at all! Worst service ever!!!!! I would have chosen Amtrak if they have given me the right time. read more

Not too bad. Actually pretty good compared to all the bad reviews. Took the 2:25 am Fresno to LA arrive 7:15 am with three quick stops. The interior of Fresno Greyhound had sticky floors but clean though. Employees were not too cherry but it was expected from all the reviews. Security guard on duty. Not too many people as we all had our bags in line and ready to go. Maybe 20 total? The bus was on time and we departed on time. The driver was a "take charge" driver so he had everyone behaving pretty good. The bus had electrical plugs and wifi and was clean. No strange odors or smells. (fyi the fowl smell between Kingsburg-Tulare is from the milk diaries not the bus.) I had a whole row all to myself till the one stop after Bakersfield so I had a nice nap. Plus I sat right behind the driver as I was traveling alone and wanted to be extra safe. At one time he even asked if I was too cold. Los Angeles Greyhound had very pleasant employees. Gave me good instructions on how to catch my shuttle to LAX. Bathrooms were clean. Overall if I can guarantee that all trips are like this one I would not mind traveling on Greyhound more often. This GreyHound bus stop is really dirty and overcrowded. The seats are metal lattice and very uncomfortable to sit in. There is no clear pick-up/drop-off area for multiple cars, which makes the parking lot get congested. The staff always seems to be in a bad mood. UPDATE: They got new automated ticket counters, which makes the long lines move a little faster. read more

I am currently on the 9:10am bus to LA from Fresno. It's an express bus. I paid $20 but it would have been $16 has I bought my ticket earlier. They have free WiFi on the bus, faux leather seats and lots of legroom. I'm impressed. This is not the bus ride I remember from 10 years ago. I would have had my own row too but there lady next to me didn't want to sit with a man. Oh well. At least she doesn't smell like cigarettes unlike the men in the back of the bus. Overall, a nice gentle ride where I can sleep and play on my phone. There is only one stop in Bakersfield and then straight on to Union Station. About 5hours, which is about how long it would've taken me had I driven myself and taken a lunch between Bakersfield and LA. read more

It is a bus station in the downtown area of Fresno. The men behind the counter were helpful to me and my daughter, but the bathrooms were yukky and you will get "pan handled" the whole time. My daughter actually gave someone her own apple when he said he needed money for food. As my daughter is going off to college, we will be either using this bus station or the train station so will just be careful and pee elsewhere. read more

If I could possibly give this experience a zero, I would. They wait until an hour after your boarding time to inform you that you bus is cancelled. Then they refuse to do anything to assist you. This is apparently a "franchise" and not part of the whole Greyhound company so they can't help you. They stranded several people and the one refund they did give shows half the amount. They changed locations and is now next to Amtrak. The station itself inside is smaller & cleaner because it's new but the outdoor waiting area is horrid. The cement is covered in grossness. There's people smoking everywhere. Back then you were able to wait for your bus inside away from bums but now if you don't wait outside where the busses are then you will miss your bus. The pro is that there is a 7-11 across the street now so you can buy a snack while you're waiting. read more

The bus ran over two hours late thus ruining my entire schedule. Then customer service was not even phased when I called them and I had to end the extremely rude phone call. Very rude people that work here. My first bus got rear ended so we had to switch busses and we stopped in Fresno and I was getting different answers and the people working here seemed annoyed that I asked them where I was supposed to go and weren't giving me a straight answer. During a trip towards northern California, my bus was prematurely terminated at the Fresno station. The staff told passengers they "did not care why" we had been stopped and to stop asking questions. The Fresno staff would not give information on upcoming bus times or rescheduling. Abandoned passengers asking for rebooking information were told to just sit and wait without information on alternative arrangements or potential departure times. Over three hours passed before, without warning, some of the passengers were told to board a bus without being told where that bus was going. Overall, the greyhound employees made an already frustrating experience very upsetting. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Bus was "delayed" more than 2 hours today. When it finally came into Fresno, one of the customers in line asked why it was delayed 2 hours in Stockton. The driver told him it was because there were NO BUSES AVAILABLE! Why would they book tickets, take money, and cause families to drive their members to the next city to catch a bus there? UNACCEPTABLE. Not because the bus broke down, but because they DIDN't HAVE ONE!! Also, I have the app and alerts, and I NEVER GET ALERTS WHEN THERE ARE DELAYS. The driver left the original stop over 45 minutes late for NO apparent reason. He proceeded to be behind & when asked if the staff in Bakersfield could assist & start lagging the bus, as the 10 minute break was becoming longer, the staff said "gotta wait for the driver, don't know where he's at." They weren't interested in helping, avoided eye contact, and now the bus is over an hour late to the next stop, connections have been missed, & the driver just says, "not my problem". Would be nice if there times were accurate. Have had my daughter and cousin use. Both times extreme delays minimum of an hour past the expected arrival time. Now I get rush hour and traffic delays but seriously Middle if the night being late 2 hours. No apology or "sorry we were delayed". Terrible service. Highly do not recommend. Don't even deserve a one star. As I got cheated out of my money. I showed up 30min early talked to the ticket counter asking where I need to go for the boarding process. I was instructed to go wait in line A where I waited in line for about 20 minutes when they started taking people directing him toward the their buses the director or the guy checking the tickets or boarding passes saw that I was going from Fresno to Visalia and told me andtwo others " no, go wait over there" pointing to the benches along the building, I asked what do you mean and he said "your not boarding yet wait over there." I waited for the line to die down and got back in line at 4:25pm two bus left leaving two more. At 4:35pm the remaining two buses left. And the man that told me to wait never came back over and climbed on to a bus that was leaving. I went back in side and asked what was going on and the guy in there said a other guy was supposed to direct me to the buses. But there was no other guy out there. He then told me that the next bus would be at 11 PM which was not going to work for several reasons but the main reason should've been is that I paid for the 4:35 PM and expected to be have that service offered to me. I have trying contacting greyhound and they tell me there is nothing they can do because the bus was on time and left on time and it would be up to the upper management to make the decision... really I was told they were not loading my bus yet and to wait on the side. On top of this I had to call 4 times because they keeper hanging up on me. I also agreed to take a Survey after the call I just needed to wait on the line after I got done talking to the worker. Well it didn't work that late the lady told me that I needed to hang up and I said I was gonna take the survey and then she said oh OK well they're going to contact me and she said are they will contacting me or send me an email and she said yes to everything and then she said OK you just need to wait on the line just you just need to give me permission to transfer you over there they said yes and then I heard the phone ring once and then it picked up and hung up. Not only do I have to pay for my ticket, that I was instructed to wait on the side but I had pay an additional $50 to take an alternate transportation so that I could still meet my planned appointments that evening. You send me to your out-of-service station, that you didn't even bother to put on your ticket-nor do you put AN address for ANY location at all on the ticket itself-, you don't update your new location on google maps, you don't even update your new location on Yelp. I am the greyhound master! Okay so I probably have ridden on the greyhound 100 times. I was commuting from Fresno to LA two times a week to get to school. Crazy I know but super cheap. Well the bus stop is in shady downtown Fresno. However I used to ride the 11:30pm to LA schedule and it wasn't bad. They have security inside and if there are strange people outside or inside they tell them to leave. Some of the workers are cool. I know a lot of them by name and they always tell me hi since I used to ride it so much. Anyways, Some general greyhound tips: All I will say is try to get on an express bus trip. The seats are leather, have wifi, outlets, and it is also faster. Express doesn't go everywhere there though so sometimes you can't avoid the regular buses. However the wifi and outlets don't work sometimes. The none express buses are cheaper material and not very nice. Some smell like water damage. It is very rare but it has happened to me. If you don't ride express make sure you put your bag in line to reserve your spot. Watch out on holidays or when big events are happening and people are commuting to other cities by bus. It gets crazy packed. The other tips I will say are to print your tickets out at home. You don't have to wait in line to get your tickets. Will call is also nice if you get there in time to wait in line to have them printed out. Also order tickets online since they are cheaper than in person. If you buy your tickets in advance they are also cheaper. Greyhound can be unpredictable. I have heard people complain about getting screwed over. I have been screwed over by greyhound a couple of times. However if you ride the same schedule it can be very predictable. One was last summer. I bought my ticket to vegas three months in advance because I was going to EDC. I got there an hour early and waited in line. When the bus got there it was full and could only take like two more people. Needless to say I didn't get on the bus and had to come back in the morning. I finally got on the bus and then it dropped me off somewhere strange in the dessert and I had to wait for another bus. When it finally got there that bus was packed. So me and a couple other EDC concert goers had to stand up on the bus if we wanted a ride. Otherwise we were going to be left in the desert all night and not get to go to the $100 concert we paid to go to. So we stood for hours all the way to Vegas. Needles to say the air broke down shortly after we got on the bus. It was pure hell. It was smelly and hot and I had to stand for like four hours when I bought my ticket way in advance. One time from Fresno to LA the bus broke down after the Grapevine. So we had to wait for someone to come and fix it. Another time going from Fresno to LA the air broke on the bus during the Grapevine. It was hot and there was no air circulating. I couldn't really breathe that good and realized I got a headache from lack of oxygen. Other people were complaining and some were saying it smelt like piss and doughnuts which it did. Then you get those assholes that play their music without headphones (I hate you!). Just don't be that person. Some bus drivers take more control than others. Some don't say anything while others explain everything. I like the bus drivers that take control because they tell the assholes to shut their music off or to talk quietly on the phone. Greyhound just sells tickets. It doesn't matter how soon in advance you bought yours. If they can't accommodate you they revise your schedule for free. Which works as long as you don't have to be somewhere on a specific time limit. If you need to be somewhere at a specific date make sure you buy express tickets because you board the bus by the number on your ticket. Which will guarantee your spot on the bus. read more

opn july 19th I departed from fresno Ca, destination spokane Wa. This was not my first trip along the lovely greyhound but it was only my second ride and it will be my last. when i boarded the buss immieadiatly the smell of fecal matter and urine hit me like a tun of briks. in medford our bus driver got off tue bus and did not return. a nother man boarded the bus all suited up and ready to drive us. the line for the bathroom at the medford station was locked and as our new buss driver stated our restroom was on that buss!! Okay, well i thought shift change or what ever.. i was extreamly tired so i figured i was over reactioning. Well it did not stop there, actually he stopped at sever buss stops sone that were not on the departure or arrival list. He did not allow us to get off at any of these spots! He kept saying oh breakfast in 15 guys then once we arrived he wouldnt allow us to get off instead he got offthe buss and boarded more passangers that the buss could hold. He kept. Repeating himself! You bathroom in on the bus.. over the intercom. The restoom was filthy, as expected but some of us waited hours and i mean hours like 8-12 hrs before he finally lett a select few off the bus in bend too eat i believe. Some of those people were never allowed off that buss the entire time! My phone was stollen. Another womens purse was gone through while she slept. I couldnt believe it... it didnt stop there but i could wright a short story about this trip! i will say that the employees in portland were amazing, in sacremento they were on it! :) and in seatle they were terribly understaffed..... read more

Okay normally I have nothing good to say about Greyhound...at all. but they have definitely redeemed themselves a little. The shiny new blue buses have fuggin wifi it was soooooooo nice to be able to waste time on my iPad watching YouTube or playing games and being able to check in. They definitely need to work on at least telling people what's going on if a bus is an hour or more late...especially if it's 1:45 AM and your bus is and hour late. At least come tell us what the new ETA is since in my case I had to inform my ride what time I was going to arrive now as opposed what I originally thought.The stations are still crap, they smell like pee and b.o. always and way overpriced station food, if the area is safe where you stop look for a Mcdonalds or something. If you want to travel cheap and don't mind a long ride go Amtrak instead. In this case I just did't have time to take a 13 hour train ride, and I just hate flying. If all the buses are eventually the shiny new blue ones ohhhhh boy they have my business every now and then. This is my second time going to Fresno using Greyhound. The first time while waiting at their Lobby I observed the female Manager yelling at an elderly disabled woman while they had a confrontation and called the elderly customer stupid. This second time I was departing for Los Angeles and purchased a 2 AM ticket going to Los Angeles. I was waiting in the lobby around 4 pm with 2 other people and this Manager asked me what time my bus left which I told her. She told me I could not wait in the Lobby and had to go elsewhere. I told her I had no where to go and she was like I don't know but she have to leave. I am not a vagrant or homeless, I was a paying customer!. I waited outside until 11 p.m. and went back into the Lobby and to add insult to injury my bus was late 1.5 hours. It was 3 hours late on the first trip getting to Fresno to pick me up to go to Los Angeles with the bus reeking of urine. Once in L.A. all the riders missed their connecting transfers and I was diverted to a Dallas bus when my destination was Austin. Then the Greyhound driver in L.A. just did not show up and they had to get a San Diego bus driver come to pick us up in L.A. This is how bad the service is ...I have never had an "on time" experience with them. The people who are hired as Managers/Supervisors lack common sense and treat their customers like their Nazi's.
