Grey Fox's philosophy is focused in having fun rather focus to be perfect. Painting pottery was a lot more fun than expected. So the place is located in Northeast really close to Brasa. So you can have a pretty cute date with earring at Brasa then paint some pottery. A plus for Grey Fox is that it is a local business. So the reason why I went to Grey Fox is for a team bonding activity for our retreat. There is so many awesome things that can could be painted. It was super hard to choice. Items ranged from 3 to 25+ dollar which is pretty reasonable with how much time spent. Our group took about 2 hours from start to finish. It was great that host of our event was engaging and took plenty of photos to capture our experience. This place is a great for many occasions having a date, team/friend bonding, and relaxing time. I would not recommend ordering large shipments of pottery from this company. And definitely not something that you need on time or done correctly. If you okay with 2/3 of your orders being late, done incorrectly and having no correspondence, then these are your guys. We have ordered mugs from this company three times, all in large quantities. The first time, (end of 2018) they completely forgot our order. WE had to contact THEM and ask where our mug were. Then and only then did they remembered that we'd paid the upfront cost of $800, for order and they'd forgotten it. They quickly remedied the situation and barely got our mugs to us for our grand opening. However, we decided to order a second batch of mugs (beginning of 2019), hoping it was a fluke and understanding that humans make mistakes. The second order arrived sooner than expected and it was a very pleasant experience. So we assumed all was well. We went back for a third time end of 2019. The third time, we were told we would get our mugs delivered by Jan 1, 2020. Two weeks into January, I had to email the man I'd been corresponding with (whom I now know is the OWNER) and he states that not only have they not shipped them yet, but they had yet TO MAKE THEM. My assumption now is that after I paid (yet again) an $800 upfront cost, they forgot about our order. We finally received our order on 1/18, but to my further disappointment it was only 3/4 of our order. They shipped 3 boxes one day and then for some odd reason, our last box on a separate day (but I only found this out because I emailed and asked. There was no communication). As of 1/20 I am still waiting for the last portion of our order. THEN to rub salt in the wound, they also painted them incorrectly. All of our mugs are a solid color with a black medallion. They forgot to paint the black medallion. When I asked why, I was told BY THE OWNER "sorry we forgot to do that, but we didn't charge you for it." In other words, HE forgot to add that to our order. read more

We stopped in at Grey Fox Pottery to kill a few minutes until our to go order was ready at Brasa down the street. I'm so glad we did! The ladies running the store were attentive and friendly, but not overly so. They made sure our questions were answered, but weren't pushy or salesy by any means. Grey Fox offers paint your own pottery, and they have lots of cute things available, like teapots, ceramic dinosaurs, and little treasure boxes. It would be a fun activity for a birthday party! There were plenty of finished objects, too. Renaissance festival-esque mugs, glass vases, and more. Definitely worth stopping in the next time you're in the area! read more

Yay more Valentines Day posts!! I decided to take my long distance lover here for Valentines day because it seemed to be like an activity that we would both enjoy and we could have an item to remember this day. (They flew up from Texas to be with me on my favorite holiday. Queue, "AWWWWHH") I decided to take them here to paint our own pottery. This place has a really neat set up. You pick the piece that you want to paint and you just pay that price for it. They have coffee there for you if you want to drink it; and all the brushes, painting technique examples and paint you could ever ask for. April helped us out; and was very kind. We probably spent about 4.5 hours in there painting 3 pieces. But that is just because we are both pretty anal about painting and per say; staying in the lines. Trust me it won't take you that long to paint stuff; it took them the most time.. -sigh- However; April is super helpful! She is very approachable and kind. The only thing that I would recommend is that if you are going their for a holiday or event of some sort that you plan ahead and accordingly. Towards about... noon o clock; (yes I call it noon o clock.) The place started to get pretty busy and tables were filling up quickly. By no means were we rushed; but there can be a wait time.. I think. (I have photos I am just waiting for my pieces to come back!!! I'll post a before, after and after the kiln photo.) Bottom Line: This place is really neat, and I would like to come back again and paint more pottery. read more

I love local businesses, I love art. Grey Fox Pottery paint-your-own studio hits the mark on both. It was a nice activity for our family (myself, husband and two boys) on a sweltering Saturday in July. Chloe at the shop was very helpful and patient. They boys finished painting their first piece of pottery and asked for more! Husband even had fun crafty his own chalice for his favorite beer - he didn't want to go in the first place. Also got a quick tour of the back area, which is used to hand make custom mugs for businesses, with a logo medallion imprint on the mugs. Cute gift shop up front featuring local artists crafts, very affordable. read more
