From the first time we met with him I loved his positive energy, passion for what he does, and not to mention, his WORK! He very professional and although extremely busy he is always quick to respond to emails and calls so he has been super easy to do business with. He was very flexible and allowed us to shoot or pictures at two different locations, brought a second photographer, and great lighting equipment which was perfect for our evening shoot. Recently, a last minute audition came up that required a professional headshot, so I searched for…read moreheadshot photographers in the area and I found Paul Pruitt Photography. I called Paul, and he told me he could fit me in the next day at 5:30/6PM. Unfortunately, when the time of the appointment came, all contact was lost with him. I tried calling, texting, e-mail, he simply would not reply to any of them. Then, I went to his studio in Wilmington, and there was nobody there. It wouldn't be until two days later, only after I tracked down his personal Facebook and messaged him there, that I managed to get in contact with him. His reply was a simple, "I am having family issues, please find someone else." And that was it. Family issue or no, it was highly unprofessional of him to not give me the courtesy of at least letting me know that he would be unavailable so that I could find another headshot photographer in time. My only option became to submit a homemade headshot, which will most likely significantly decrease my chances of getting noticed by the casting directors. And the worst part is that he didn't even apologize. He might as well have said "f*** off." This man is unreliable, untrustworthy, inconsiderate, and clearly does not care about his customers. He had the audacity to set an appointment and completely shrug me off until it was too late. I can't even tell if his "family issues" story is real, as his Facebook wall suggested he was happily watching the Super Bowl while I was desperately trying to contact him. Regardless, the simple fact of the matter is that I relied on him, and he screwed me over. My audition might as well be ruined. This is simply not good business practice. If you want a trustworthy photographer who cares about his customers and who will keep his appointments, I highly recommend you find someone else.

During…read moreour engagement session at Winterthur, I told Kristen just how awkward I am with photos (my husband is a total ham!), and Kristen was so great about helping me relax and actually enjoy the session. Then when she sent us the photos shortly after, I was stunned. Kristen captured who we are as a couple AND they were, no exaggeration, the best pictures ever taken of me (the husband, as usual, looked great). Needless to say, I was not the least bit nervous about photos for our wedding after the engagement shoot. Kristen and Nic arrived right on time and blended in with the wedding party. Nic captured the guys watching soccer and goofing around (totally jealous of their morning). Kristen took some great getting ready shots. Then they continued to capture awesome shots at the church and reception. Several days after returning from our honeymoon, and much to my surprise, Kristen emailed to say our photos were ready! For me, at my before and during wedding, I found myself speaking to her about nerves or laughing or whatever just as I did with my guests. Being able to be calm and look natural (which isn't the easiest for me) was something she can bring out and captures beautifully. My wedding rained sheets of water, but I was still able to have beautiful moments to look at for years to come. While many would find it sufficient to work with me, he really wanted to get to know her - he even invited her brother to come so he gets to know our family! All of our interactions leading up to the event were so pleasant and professional - he is simply a wonderful person. However, where I was really blown away was at the event itself. Todd was on hand at every turn to capture every person, every moment - yet somehow managed to do so unobtrusively. Not only was he there for candid photos but he captured photos of each group of friends and family coming in. In our own posed photo session, he brought out each and every one of our family members' personalities. He was a tremendous part of our celebration. Where his gift of seeing people and his keen eye truly emerged was when we saw the photos that he took of the event. I could not believe what he captured. It wasn't just that he was there, in moments I didn't even see: what really captivated us was how he SAW us. If you did not know our family at all, you would learn who we are, who our daughter is, and our spirit, all from these photos.
