Management is a joke and they refuse to give back deposits. This place is dirty and they don't care about their tenants during emergencies. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone! read more

these apartments are nice but management stinks!!!!!! Building B lower apartments have had MAJOR flooding problems with NO help from management. They do NOT care nor do they respond to concerns from tenants. This property does not have a mana team that cares about the property. read more

We've lived in a 2 bedroom here for about a year and a half now. The location is excellent -- walking distance to the Gresham Central Transit Center and many different stores and restaurants -- and management is very friendly. Rent is very reasonable and we are even on the month-to-month lease. Now for the bad: Security -- let me first clarify that I have only lived in secure-access apartments and a house until now. So it was incredibly terrifying to me when someone tried to get into our apartment. Our car was also broken into once. Apartment Design -- the light switches are all counter-intuitive and the windows are often difficult to open. For the first year we would step in random areas where the carpet staples stabbed our feet. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. But unfortunately I cannot, but just know I would have if I could. First, the area outside is disgusting. Looks like people who manage the place don't care about the appearance on the outside at all. (Or the people that rent from here either! But I'll get to that!) There are constant homeless people digging through the trash, no security guard on site to handle the issues either. The apartment manager, I believe her name is Theresa her name, is quite frankly, awful at her job and awful as a person. And I'm not going to throw anyone under the bus, but there are even people who work there that have terrible things to say about her. My friend had been renting at this "establishment" for a year and recently got approved for a new apartment. And BOY the conversation that was had when my friend went in to turn in her keys and let the "manager" know that she was moving out the following day.. was nothing less than unprofessional, disrespectful and unbelievable. She had informed her roommate that she was moving out and her roommate had agreed to figure out the living situation for her absence. The day before she was scheduled to moved into her new place, she made a courtesy visit to the office to let them know she was moving out the following day. And the first thing the "manager" said was, "well it doesn't work like that? And how did you get approved?" Uhhhh, in my personal experience what right do you have to question me on how I was approved? That was strike 1. She then proceeded to ask "So did you just not put this place down on your application?" implying that my friend wasn't a reliable tenant. Which is untrue, she hasn't ever paid rent late. Her rental history is in the green so I don't know why she would question that, nonetheless have the nerve to say that. Strike 2. She THEN told my friend that she couldn't move out unless her roommate was approved to be on the lease by their self. Moral of this long story is please please stay as far away from this place as you can!! read more

They are charging me and my wife $100 extra just to co-sign for our daughter. Claiming a credit check costs that much. It is a scam, we all know a credit check does not cost anywhere near that much. read more

My husband and I have lived here for 2 1/2 years and we're very happy with this complex. The grounds are very well kept and the parking lot is kept clean. We live in the two floor apartment with 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bath. The kitchen is very spacious as well as the living room. The bedrooms are both upstairs which I like because it keeps everything nice and separate. The bedrooms are average size, our queen size bed, tv and two side tables fit fine with extra space. The closet in the main room is a good size, the second bedroom closet is a little small for my taste. The main bedroom has a ceiling light but the second bedroom does not, so lamps will be needed. The washer/dryer, fridge and dishwasher are all very nice and newer. You get a covered parking spot and extra storage outside which comes in really handy. This complex is also dog friendly. We, along with many other tenants have a dog and Marsha (the manager) is very friendly and warm with them. Marsha is very nice and helpful and we've never had any problems with her. Ted is the maintenance man and he is very nice and always quick to help with a problem. He is also very nice with the dogs and doesn't seem put-off by them. The only negative for me is the man who helps Ted. He smells of cigarettes badly and always seems as if he just rolled out of bed and doesn't really want to help. Basically, he's pretty unfriendly and not very helpful. He lives in the complex and kind of acts like he owns the place as well. The complex is very quiet and I've never had any noise problems like parties or loud music. I'm sure if I did, Marsha would take care of it quickly. read more

A couple of rude and unprofessional men work in the leasing office of this site. I would not rent from this place if I were you. Based on their lack of professionalism and poor character, I am very grateful I will not be renting at this property. Here's the story: I called the office today to ask if any apartments were available and my call was answered unintentionally. I waited for a personal greeting, but what I overheard instead was a conversation between 2 or 3 men, one of which was talking very badly about some of the tenants. Swearing about and insulting them. The tone of his voice was condescending and that of disgust. He was truly apalling to listen to. A woman who needed help with her key was met with profanity, and outright hostility (behind her back). It was so bad, I thought I must have called a radio station and that it was a joke because I have never heard such a poor character in my life. After about 6 minutes or so, the offender answered the phone after he'd realized that someone was on the line. I told him that I'd overheard everything.. Because of this sort of attitude, I do not trust the integrity of this establishment at all. It seems to be flawed from the core ............... and you can't expect good fruit from a rotten tree. People with these types of personalities have no self-control, and are not self-empowered. They blame others instead of taking personal accountability for their own feelings, actions, and experiences. Whoever this man is, he still has A LOT to learn.... and I hope he does because he can't possibly be a happy person, or be creating very many positive or productive experiences with anyone or anything he comes into contact with... not with that attitude. He needs to get it together and start being a happy person. You have to create your own happiness and positive experiences. read more

I had applied to one of their managed properties and got denied. When I asked why, the on-site property manager (who told me she had only been working there less than a week) said that she didn't know, but everything would be laid out in a letter I would recieve from the screening department. They canceled my boyfriend's application because he had applied with me (first red flag). So I waited for the letter. Surprise! It laid out NOTHING. All it said was that I had been denied due to a negative rental history. I thought this was very strange because I had talked personally with my previous rental managers and they had nothing bad to say. The letter had no phone number or means of contact other than the address to this rental company (second red flag). I called the on-site property manager to see what I could do to fix this error and she said that I had to submit a claim in writing to have the screening department re-evalute. I googled Summit's phone number and first talked to a man who said he would forward me to the screening department. After being on hold for 1-2 minutes, there was a pause as if someone had picked up the phone and then I got a dial tone (red flag number three). So I called right back and got a lady who was rude and dismissive, who told me that she couldn't tell me who said or what was said that led to my denial and that she would not forward me to the screening department because they couldn't tell me that information either - I should just write a letter and they'd re-evaluate. So I asked her how I was supposed to make an effective claim that a mistake had been made if I didn't even know what I was refuting? That seemed to catch her off-guard and she ended up forwarding me to the regional manager of blah blah blah, which went straight to voicemail. I left a message in the early afternoon. Around the same time the next day I got a call back from this regional manager lady and she was just as rude and dismissive as the first lady! She told me what had been said, but not who said it (because I may retaliate against them?). I asked her how I could go about remediating the situation, and she told me flat out (I kid you not) that I would never be able to apply to any of their properties EVER, because even if I could prove it was a mistake, it would look too "suspcious" if the property that had given the negative rental reference recanted their statement (as if I had coereced them?). This was red flag frickin' four. At this point, I was so upset, thinking I'd never be approved for another apartment because of this mistake. I ended up calling the manager of the place I'm at now because I had deduced the reference came from her, and I wanted to see what had happened since she had told me nothing bad had been reported. Come to find out, she had checked three boxes: ONE noise complaint, and another for ONE car complaint (we were in an accident and parked our busted car in the property lot). And we paid rent late ONCE. For the whole year. Needless to say, these are not reasons why a person with an otherwise impecccable rental history would be denied. My current manager continued to tell me that Summit properties have a reputation for denying applications for certain reasons to hide their true intentions for denying tenants. She implied they intentionally make it difficult for applicants to go through the re-evaluate stage. Now, I don't know if a better-looking potential tenent came in behind us and applied for the same unit, or if maybe race was a factor (I'm black and my boyfriend is Mexican with a mexican-sounding last name), but whatever their true intentions were, it was the worst experience of my life and I will never EVER apply to any of their properties again, reccommend their properties to anyone I know, or ever have a kind word to speak on their behalf. read more
