Passing through Belen and decided to stop to eat lunch. What a happy accident! We usually prefer good old Texas style bbq. But this was a wonderful meal and the flavors were great. Hi I ordered the samptler Mackenzie was our server, She got our BBQ sauce order wrong,I asked her if she could take it back and bring the right sauce, She answered yes , but she was still charging us for the sauce she was still holding in her hand, and for the other sauce, I replied it ok just leave it we didn't use it. The samptler plate and meats were cold as the cole slaw was and the few fries we got were cold and greasy, didn't eat them.I asked to speak to the manager to let her know the the food was cold, the managers reply was that the way it's served.she didn't offer to heat the meat up or try to make things right, her attitude was not a good one almost as she could care less . Didn't eat our meal just paid for it put in a to go box a feed it to the dog's when we got home. I did a Google search on BBQ serving temperature it said it should well heated when served other wise bacteria can start to take over. The manager asked for my name and number. Hopefully The owner Greg will call. Felt very un appreciated by the staff as a customer and feel bad for the owners business as this affects it. read more

Really really great food. Had the nachos and potatoe both loaded with brisquet. This was an absolute accident find that we will be back too. Awesome food. The owner and the story are great. I used to eat at Greg's a few years back when he was just a truck and trailer parking around Belén, and I was sad when I couldn't find him around town anymore. Recently I found out he was at the sale barn in los Chavez and I was blown away by how amazing the food was. I guess over time I forgot how great it was, everything is fresh and made from scratch including his incredible Mac and cheese. I had to go back the next day to try a burger once he told me that he grinds his own meat and it did not disappoint! I can't wait to go back! read more

Horrible! If I could give zero stars, I would. Husband stopped here on the way home from work for take out. He waited for 56 minutes to get 3 brisket meals (brisket, cole slaw, potato salad) to go. The quality of the meat was very substandard and had a ton of fat on it. (Some is expected on brisket, but not 1/2 the slice of meat!) He ordered 2 meals with 2 meats and both were supposed to be brisket--so 2 servings of brisket per plate, and a 1-meat plate, also brisket. The "2-meat plate" was literally 2 thin slices of brisket with a very thick layer of fat on them. The 1-meat plate was one very thin, small slice of brisket with a thick layer of fat. I only took a picture of one of them -- the 2-meat plate. The servings of potato salad were very small as was the serving of cole slaw. Unfortunately, had to throw out one serving of cole slaw due to the nasty hair in it. He ordered sweet bbq sauce on 2 meals and spicy on the 3rd. There was no bbq sauce on the meat and it was very dry--other than the liquid from the cole slaw it was drenched in. (They don't put the cole a slaw in a separate small container and don't use divided containers so everything was sitting in a puddle of cole slaw liquid which made the potato salad and mac 'n cheese all watery. Finally, this was not a cheap meal. With the tip, it was over $50.00. He could have gone to Ribs bbq in Los Lunas and been home in less than half the time or even driven into Albuquerque, got Rudy's bbq to go, and almost been back home in the same amount of time as it took to pick up this meal locally. And it would've tasted a whole lot better and would've been decent-sized servings for the price. And probably sans hair!! So much for trying to support the local economy. read more

The worst BBQ I've ever had. We should have never even sat down - neither waitress we saw was wearing a mask. (It was just before they were required.) I ordered the brisket and it was inedible, all fat and grizzle. If the waitress had asked if everything was OK, I would have told her and maybe they would have tried to make it right. But, even though there were only 6 other people in the place, apparently she didn't notice that I barely touched my food. No reason to ever go back. read more

Our first experience at Greg's BBQ was short lived. We arrived at 7:15pm on a Friday night. We were greeted by the Chef himself, Greg, and were told the restaurant was closed. Hours are 11-7. I said on a Friday night? He replied, "Yes". We found that odd for a Friday night. So we returned Saturday evening being certain to arrive before 7 pm. We ordered drinks which is nice to have a beer with BBQ. The menu was slim pickin's! We started with the nachos with brisket! The cheese was globed on and the meat was cold. We thought that was odd! I ordered the baked potato with brisket. The potato was nice and big. The meat was piled on. I took my first bite and the potato was cold. A baked potato cold? The meat was also cold. I was greeted by the chef and he took the potato and brought out another. Very disappointing! No improvement. In my opinion this place needs to be reported to the health department!
