I started seeing Dr. Parker about a year or so ago, transferring to him from another practice/doc…read morethat I just couldn't stomach anymore. A friend referred me to him & I'm thankful for this. We're still kind of in the "getting to know you" phase of our relationship since, luckily, I haven't had to see him THAT often, but so far I'm a fan. He isn't your average doc, especially when it comes to freely dispensing with prescriptions - he actually shy's away from pills whenever possible, and I appreciate that (unheard of this "here just take this & go" era). That's also important to know if you're transferring to him thinking he'll just put you on any sort of drug...he won't! Dr. Parker is one of the very few doctors that will take the time to actually sit with you and EXPLAIN what's going on. This includes inside you, with the medications you are or will be on, tests that are taking place (and the results), and so on. I feel like Dr. Parker (and Parker IM in general) genuinely CARES about his/their patients and sincerely want the best for them. This is evident in articles such as "The Cost Conundrum" that they post on their website regarding docs that test excessively and/or perform unnecessary procedures for the sole purpose of generating addt'l revenue - what other doctor's gonna post THAT kind of article on their website these days?! I also appreciate that I've never had to sit and wait more than 5 or so minutes beyond my scheduled appt time, and if Dr. Parker IS late seeing me, I know it's because he's taking TIME with another patient, so I don't mind...and I know he'll provide me with the same courtesy. Oh, I almost forgot. At first I thought it was strange, if not annoying, that it takes SO long for a bill to arrive from them - but then I learned that they make d*** sure they've settled up with your insurance provider and that all i's are dotted and t's are crossed before billing you. I appreciate that, as there are other docs I work with that don't and bill too soon, only to discover they billed too much up front! Dr. Parker & Parker IM - a rare & much appreciated gem in the medical world.

I'm very disappointed with my experience at Randolph Internal Medicine in Charlotte, NC. I had an…read moreappointment today at 1:40 PM with Dr. Kevin Williams, PA. Unfortunately, due to rain and an accident on I-77, I realized I'd be a few minutes late, so I called ahead at 1:31 PM to let the office know I was en route. I arrived at 1:51 and checked in by 1:54. After checking in, I waited about 15 minutes before a nurse came out to review my paperwork. She said she'd check with the doctor, but I ended up waiting until 2:40 before she returned--only to tell me that I would not be seen until after all other patients had been seen. I understand running late can affect the schedule, but most offices allow a brief grace period, typically about 15 minutes--especially when a patient calls ahead. It's frustrating that flexibility doesn't seem to work both ways. Patients are expected to wait when doctors run behind, but if a patient is slightly late, they risk being dismissed altogether. I came prepared to address several important health concerns, but this experience left me feeling disregarded. I'll be taking my care elsewhere--and at least I'll never have to worry about being "late" for this office again.

This is the worst medical practice I have ever gone to. During Covid, I was frogmarched out of…read moretheir office because I had told the nurse that I'd had a visit with two neighbors, when I was masked, sitting on their back porch. The doctor hid in his office and refused to see me because he assumed I had Covid. I did not! Later he called me on the phone to apologize and misdiagnosed my skin condition (the reason I was there) saying I had shingles, and recommending an antibiotic that I am allergic to (as it stated in my records). Instead I went to an Urgent Care Clinic, where they accurately diagnosed my skin condition and warned me that my medical records indicated that I had an allergy and should NOT take the prescribed antibiotic -- which I actually didn't need anyway. When I told the doctor about my experience at Randolph, she joked and said, "Unlike your doctor, we actually see patients here." I later returned to the practice, thinking the problem was only that particular doctor. But that was not the case. Since returning, I have often had to wait hours for an appointment, sitting in their waiting room because the doctor was running late. In one case, my lab results were lost and never recovered, so the doctor ignored them. As in any practice, there are a few good practitioners. The people who work in their lab drawing blood are efficient and very kind! I did have two good doctors there (which is why I kept going for so long), but one has retired, and the other left the practice. I talked to a PA there, who told me that they routinely overschedule (to make more money), which may explain the long waits that many patients have complained about in other reviews. I also agree with the other reviewers that the general attitude of the doctors and nurse at Randolph is dismissive and uncaring. When I call to get a refill of a needed medication, they always say they will get back to me that day, and then I don't hear from them until two days later. Getting an appointment with any of the doctors there, even if you are seriously ill, can be difficult because they are understaffed. In one case, they told me to go to the Emergency Room because they were just too busy. I tend to admire doctors and cut them a lot of slack, so writing a negative review like this is very unusual for me. I am writing it now because I spent too many years making excuses for Randolph Internal Medicine, and I want to alert prospective patients to their neglectful, and even potentially harmful, treatments.

I've used Mecklenburg Medical Group since moving to Charlotte 4.5 years ago. I originally selected…read moreMecklenburg Medical Group because of their proximity to Uptown. Last year, my primary care physician (Dr. Knight, who is top notch) moved to the Mecklenburg Medical Group's Museum location on Randolph Road. At first, I was bummed that they were going to be further from Uptown... but then I realized her new location is just a hop, skip, and a jump from my house in Cotswold... so her move was a win for the home team! I've always received exemplary service from the office staff, lab technicians, doctors, and nurses at Mecklenburg Medical Group. I've had two instances where I needed appointments quickly and Dr. Knight had a conflict, so I was seen by another doctor. Both of those instances have been 100% positive experiences and I was totally comfortable with the doctors. The best thing about the doctors that I've seen is they're not big on pushing antibiotics or unecessary medications... which is hugely important for me and my family, I only want to pop a pill if it is absolutely necessary! I'll be honest, I don't like being sick, the sight of blood makes me faint, and I don't like needles... so no doctor's office is ever getting 5 stars from me, but Mecklenburg Medical Group is as good as it gets!

He is very polite very attentive knowledgeable and has a good listening ear. I would highly recommend going to this office. He has gained a new patient. My over all visits is an A+. The office was very clean. Everyone was professional and truly cared about my needs.

I looked into IORA (now One Medical Seniors) because they were not like that and my MD was the best Primary Care Physician I've ever had. Eventually One Medical was purchased by Amazon. If you want your medical care managed by an MBA at Amazon, go for it. A few months ago I left NC and I have yet to find an MD who even approaches the quality of care my One Medical PCP (Danielle Newman MD) offers. Were I to return to Charlotte, I'd definitely seek her out to be my physician again...I'm not sure I want Amazon intruding into my life any more than it already does as I believe their major concern is financial, even when it means that patients don't receive optimal care.
