I recently visited this clinic for what should have been a simple appointment. My dog was shaking…read moreher head, and I suspected an ear infection. From the moment we went in the back, the nurses and doctor seemed very unfriendly, and the doctor spoke to me in a condescending tone that made me feel talked down to rather than helped. My dog has severe anxiety, and I clearly explained that to them. Instead of showing patience or compassion, they handled her extremely roughly. She was squirmy because she was scared, but they reacted by holding her down aggressively. At one point, she even urinated out of fear, and instead of easing up or giving her a moment, the staff continued to hold her down like it was some kind of wrestling match. It was disgusting because they were all rolling around in it, too. It was honestly shocking to watch. Then, the doctor tried to push anesthesia for a basic ear cleaning, turning a simple issue into a minimum of $235 procedure, with me expecting it to be way more; that was just the starting price. When I said I wanted a second opinion and preferred to take her to my regular vet if anesthesia was truly needed, he immediately lost interest in helping us. He didn't treat her, didn't offer any medication, and basically dismissed us once he realized I wasn't agreeing to the expensive route. I normally go to Southern Vet Clinic in Lucedale, MS, and have never had an issue there. They're gentle, compassionate, and reasonably priced. This clinic, on the other hand, felt money-driven and lacking empathy -- not just for my dog, but for pet owners as well. This is the first review I have ever written in general, but I felt it was necessary. If you care about your animal's well-being or your bank account, I would not recommend this place at all. It's a waste of time.

My bill was $204. Once I get there, I am told she has yeast in her ears and to give her children's claritin for breathing due to trachea. Last night, Boots was breathing was labored, she whined all night and did not want to sleep. I contacted ER med vet and was advised to give her claritin and follow up with my Vet. Today, I call at 11a and stated the obvious. Do you want to bring her back for an exam (additional charge). No, i am calling for further recommendation as i was there Friday and the claritin is not working. I am told I would receive a call back. Around 345p, I receive no call and contact them again. First, Noone remembered me calling, hence I was told about the call back without alerting anyone. After calling for the second time, holding for 15 minutes, I am told that there is no record from the visit on Friday and I would need to come in and recharge for another exam.... Needless to say, its a hard NO! I don't not recommend due to no records, additional charges, lack of care and customer service.

Do not, under any circumstances, use this clinic…read more Brought my new puppy here for an exam and round of shots a couple of weeks ago. Was barely greeted by the staff, and the vet tech informed me that the doctor wouldn't be able to see my puppy because she was going into surgery. Instead, they took him back to her for under 2 minutes and I left with a $200 bill and no opportunity to see/talk to the doctor. A couple of days ago, my puppy started drinking water excessively, acting lethargic, dribbling on the floor and ignoring his food. So I scheduled an appointment for today to have him checked out, thinking my experience might be different. Though the techs are nice, I do not pay $200+ per visit to never see or talk to the Veterinarian. They took us to an exam room, but every time my puppy needed to be examined, have an ultrasound, have blood drawn, etc, they took him to the back for the vet to see him, then the tech came out and relayed whatever the vet said. They took him back three times. When the tech came back with antibiotics (for what, we don't know - they never gave any sort of diagnosis), she let us know that they had taken it upon themselves to give him a shot for pain. He was not in any type of pain....and I said that multiple times when we arrived. When I looked up the type of shot after we left, it is not even supposed to be given to puppies under 6 months old - he is 11 weeks. I am mad at myself for letting this happen, but I paid and left without a word. Do not use this clinic if you'd like to actually meet/see at licensed Veterinarian and give consent for any medical treatments before they happen.

I have taken my cats to multiple vet clinics due to worms that the vets just can't seem to get rid…read moreof. This problem has been ongoing for about a year. We have tried multiple types of dewormer, prevention, etc. We went to Overton in hopes of some help. Dewormed all of my cats twice and kept them separated then went back for a fecal which they told us was negative. A few weeks later they continued to vomit live worms. Since this was a continuous issue we already knew they still had worms. Overton gave us a few more rounds of dewormer and told us they were fine. It's been a couple months and my cats still have worms. Aside from all of this, we have had two separate emergencies in which case overton would not take us in, check up on us, or even give us a follow up appointment. We have poured out hundreds of dollars with no help at all.

My former neighbors surprised me one day when they brought their dog in, and they agree. One of these cats died due to a tumor growing in her lower GI, and Dr. Lisa took great care of her. She passed away at home with her humans at her side. The other two are tomcats, a year apart, and Dr. Lisa was very informative on how to introduce them. Highly recommend!
