We have been searching for years for a high quality, reasonably priced framer. Much of our art was completed by a team in Colorado, but since their passing, we've not been able to find a suitable artist. That search is now over and our experience with Gregory James has been outstanding. His service was timely, and his pricing was substantially less than other shops. He was also creative and very easy to work with ranging from design to installation. We won't use anyone else! read more

Greg is a great listener, patient, and professional advice provider. He assisted me in choosing the right matting and framing to enhance my watercolor prints from our trip to Cinque Terre, Italy. They were 5 different sizes and I wanted them in a certain order. The finished matting & framing was fabulous. A beautiful remembrance of our trip. If you want professional, honest advice and craftsmanship, go see Greg. You would be disappointed. Thank you, Greg! read more

We began our search for a painting for our dining room, at Gregory James Gallery, approximately 18 months ago. We returned recently after having searched numerous galleries in CT. and N.Y. We had also been to numerous shows and numerous websites. The selection of artists and and the variety of work for each is impressive and quite appealing. But we returned, not just because of the wide spectrum displayed but also because of Mr. James. He is patient, knowledgable, and more interested in a client's satisfaction than making a sale. With Greg's assistance, we changed our paradigm and ended up purchasing 2 smaller paintings for different walls and are extremely pleased. read more

Greg is a craftsman! I had an old poster of New Milford from 1976, and took it to Greg to be framed as a gift for Christmas. Greg helped me by giving numerous suggestions for frames and matting colors, and when I picked up the results a few days later, WOW! Its nice to support a local business too, especially one who gives such personal attention, great service and with top quality results. Thank you Greg!!! read more

I get everything framed there. It's a family-run business and they put their heart into their products and service. They're very patient and helpful with suggestions while you're picking the frame and matting. If you don't want to spend too much, they'll gladly try to offer cheaper options for you. They add everything up for you but don't charge till you come pick up the art, and they're always ready when they say they'll be. If you don't live in New Milford, it's worth taking the trip over there to get your pictures framed, as I do. read more

I brought in two pieces to be framed. One was very inexpensive and for the other one I wanted something special. He owner helped me and also guided me towards a mat I would have never thought of. It was great service and all accomplished in 2 weeks. I thought about sending my art out to an internet company but so glad I didn't. The owner assured me that he could almost always compete with any conglomerate. Buy local! read more

I am a resident of New York City with a weekend home up here in Litchfield County. Greg James is as good as it gets. Better than anyone I've used in NYC. I have now had 5 artworks framed here. He has incredible taste and an amazing eye for detail. I defer to him for every framing decision, no matter how expensive the artwork. I'm so fortunate to have found him. Raves from me. read more

If you need anything -- artwork or otherwise - framed, I highly recommend the Gregory James Gallery. They have framed everything for us from Andy Warhol Campbell Soup Can posters for the kitchen and fancy highheel shoe posters for my daughter's bedroom to traditional prints to shadowbox framing of an antique Asian embellished robe and Tibetan collar piece. They were terrific in working with us to find just the right presentation for each -- which style of frame, whether to mat or not, what color if so etc etc. They have a great sense of what will look great, present you with various options and a recommendation, yet let you feel like you are making the ultimate decision -- and their prices are reasonable. read more
