    I have used this office for all my dental needs since I moved here in 2007. Both dentists (father…read moreand son) are exceptional, well trained professionals, and I trust them totally. However, I must rate the office at 3 stars vice 5 for what I believe is a change in attitude of the support staff (dental hygenists.) I went to my July 2019 appointment for my yearly checkup, which starts with the hygenist cleaning my teeth, followed by the doctor's examination. My initial appointment time was changed due to a 'change in the work scheduling of the hygenists' - OK, I understood. The hygenist was the same one I had seen for the past 3 years. My new appointment was for 10:30 am, and I was early, as I always am. Never before had I been kept waiting (and candidly I never expect to be kept waiting, as who has ever heard of a hygenist emergency that would shift appointment times?) At 10:40 the hygenist calls to me from behind the front desk and asks if I am ready? I replied that I was ready 10 minutes ago - her response was to turn away and start walking to the treatment room, and, without looking at me, state "I'm sorry I kept you waiting." This is an unacceptable, unprofessional reply. If there was a legitimate reason for the delay, I expect to be told the reason. Not giving a reason implies there was no legitimate reason. Finally, and candidly, there are few legitimate reasons to not meet a cleaning appointment on time - this includes if another patient is late for their appointment. I expect them to reschedule that appointment, and not presume I am OK with waiting.

She never pressures you into any treatment and listens to your concerns. I had several cosmetic issues I wanted corrected and a number of dentists throughout the years rolled their eyes at me like I was being so superficial. After getting my braces off over 10 years ago, I had number of yellow stains on my teeth that were very bothersome to me. Two previous dentists told me there was nothing I could do and I should have flossed better as a young teenager. The damage was done and I was stuck with these stains. Dr. Hayden was the first dentist who was willing to help, and not only that but she explained how simple it was to correct the problem (honestly, it took her 30 minutes). I've also had a problem with Novocaine wearing off on my upper row of teeth. Other dentists acted like I was faking the pain I was feeling. Dr. Hayden explained that it's not uncommon for some patients to metabolize the Novocaine faster than others. Whenever I'm in a procedure with her, she always checks on my comfort level and administers more Novocaine before the pain sets in. I liked her so much that I brought my four year old in to see her and he actually likes the dentist! Can you believe it? Also, when you refer a new patient, you get a set of professional grade teeth bleach for free! They are awesome! All of her bleaching procedures are done at cost and are shockingly inexpensive. Thanks to Dr. Hayden, I'm no longer afraid of the dentist and I'll be a patient with her until she retires!

No Luck ! and I have a special dinner with family on Saturday and I wanted to cancel . You see, I am in from Florida (short visit) to be with my 94 year old mother and be with family. Dr. Hayden was so kind and caring to help me get my Crown back in so I would be able to attend the special dinner. Thank you Dr. Hayden Dr. Hayden is the Dentist to go to when needing dental care. I appreciated that there were pictures on his website which allowed me to see that the entrance is very handicapped friendly, as this is a must for me. The doctor himself seemed very competent and friendly. After my cleaning I was not asked for money upfront. That might be because the person who usually takes payments was not there. I was shocked when I got the bill and discovered that it was over $300 AFTER Humana had paid their portion. For just a cleaning and bite wing x-rays?! But, OK, I don't generally have a lot of problems with my teeth, so I was just planning on asking to go in less often - every nine months instead of six for cleanings. Recently I was having some pain (not sure if it's sinusitis or tooth problem) so I called the office to attempt to get an appointment. I called three times a day for two days straight and only to discover that apparently they are not answering the phone anymore. I'd get a recording asking me to leave a message and they would call me back. I did that. Never got a call back. This doesn't seem like a very efficient or caring way to run a business. When I started searching for another dentist I discovered that I cannot use my Humana Insurance there anymore. Altogether not a great experience!

The front office staff, can be a bit argumentative - especially when told something seemed off (like the billing). Like many people, I have dental insurance. Incredibly good dental insurance. In 2021, when I started seeing Dr. Franz, he was in-network as verified by my insurance and his office, and was to be paid at 100% for preventative care. This office insists on billing medical insurance first, then my dental insurance after that which is odd, but okay. Come to find out nearly 3 years later, they've had billing problems BACK TO 2021 and never said anything. They weren't paid at 100% in 2021 as they should have been. But instead of calling me to inquire, they just let it sit. And sit. And sit. FOR YEARS. Then, after my cleaning today I was presented with a $600+ bill and told they would "only charge me $28 today." Then, the receptionist (Taryn) tried to charge my credit card for the full $600+ amount. Seriously?! I informed her that when I bought the dental insurance policy (in July 2021), I was told all preventative care is paid at 100% for in-network providers. Taryn said that Dr. Franz is still in-network but my insurance doesn't pay 100%. I got in the car and called the insurance company - guess what? In-network is paid at 100%, as I'd told the office. The thing is, without any notice, Dr. Franz's office dropped my dental insurer and became "out of network" in January 2022. When I called back and talked to Taryn about what the insurance said, her response was "well, I'm sure we sent you an email." No, they didn't. Needless to say I had her cancel my next 6mo appointment there and then. Like any profession, dentists and doctors have a duty to uphold a reasonable standard of business - and that's not it. If you choose this office, I'd double check that he's still in-network no less than 2 weeks right before your appointment.
