The whole experience was incredibly smooth. Terry reached out a week beforehand for a virtual consult to walk me through the procedure and pricing. He was super transparent with the cost breakdown and made sure I was getting the best value. He even arranged for me to pick up my pre-op instructions and eye drops early so I'd be 100% ready for the big day. I ended up going to the Daly City location to fit their surgery schedule, so I just had to make sure I planned out my ride accordingly. On the day of, the consultation was very thorough. Honestly, the vision tests felt even more rigorous than my regular optometrist appointments (they had me reading very tiny letters and I had a hard time- but I guess that's good they were being as precise as possible). I was cleared for surgery soon after and they were even able to move my procedure time up, which was a nice bonus. Dr. Barrion was awesome. You can tell she has a ton of experience, and she walked me through exactly what to expect right before we started. Eye surgery can definitely feel a bit scary, but her reassuring tone kept me feeling pretty calm and safe throughout. It was not painful at all. The whole thing was done in about 10 minutes! As for the recovery, I was required to close my eyes for at least 4 hours immediately after getting home. It was a bit uncomfortable but overall tolerable, and the eye drops really helped. The turnaround was so quick that I was actually back at work the next day. My vision fluctuated a little during the first week, but it was still way better than my original eyesight. At my 5-day post-op visit, I was already seeing 20/15 in one eye and the other is nearly 20/20! I haven't had any dry eye symptoms, and while there's still some slight haziness around bright lights, the team assured me that should fully stabilize in a few months. It's already been such a massive improvement in my daily life. My only wish is that I did it sooner. Totally worth it!

Long discussion about pros and cons of different solutions, what I could expect from the surgery and next steps. I asked why she wanted to do surgery on each eye on different dates. Basic answer - it's rare that something goes wrong but if it does we don't want you to have two eyes possibly damaged. Made a lot of sense to me. I was back in the office a few days later to have my eyes measured with different machines to identify the best lens for my eyes. I was a bit apprehensive about the first surgery but it wasn't scary at all. Second eye done two weeks later. Follow up next day after each surgery and then again 1 week later. The results have been amazing. Everything is so much clearer, brighter and less yellow. So glad I had this done. Dr. Shih's skill and professionalism - along with her support team, were important to that success.

Dec. 2025 - I had my annual eye check up from Bella x Specs Optometry and I asked for facility recommendations and suggested Furlong Vision Correction. I had a pamphlet, looked them up and scheduled my complimentary consultation on 1/6/2025. 1/6/2025 consultation day - Jennifer was assigned to me and she was very helpful! I felt at ease that they werr giving a lot of information about my options and if I'm a candidate for Lasik surgery. Dr. Michael Furlong also checked in on my consultation day. Good news: I'm a good candidate to proceed with Lasik. I asked for potential payment options so I can prepare with the surgery cost. I applied for CareCredit financing and got approved. I then scheduled my surgery appointment on 1/30/2025. There were multiple pre-operative measurements I took to make sure I'm all set. The whole process was easy! I got nervous a few days before my surgery. It wasn't a good idea that I checked videos about Lasik. Anyway, I checked in with Jennifer and expressed my concerns and she addressed it very kindly. Day of surgery (1/30/2025): I followed the instructions I have and made sure I had a good rest. I took the sedative pill they offered so I can be more calm during the process. The actual procedure was fast and easy, thank goodness! Every step -- the doctors where there and they were informing me of what's happening. Dr. Furlong was present and checked my eyes after the procedure. I think it took less than 15 minutes. My vision was very hazy at first and that day, he suggested to sleep/rest as much as I can. Next day (1/31/2025): My initial post-operative appointment. I did have a very irritating itchiness in my right eye that subsided the next day. Again, following as much as I can with the post op activities really helped! Now, it's been almost 2 months. My vision is almost 20/20 though my left eye has -0.50 grade. I've been wearing corrective eyeglasses for 15+ years. My last check up before my lasik surgery was OD: -5.00 DS, OS: -4.00 -1.25 x 180. A huge change and I have way better vision now! I've verified this with my doctors office. Upon receiving the referral, PAMF called me to say they saw the referral and would have me meet with a doctor here. I discovered upon check-in (several weeks later) that the doctor I'm waiting to see (it's already half an hour past my appointment start time and no one has even brought me into the appointment room) is an optometrist. The receptionist told me that PAMF doesn't let patients meet with ophthalmologists unless they're having surgery. I'm incredibly frustrated at the misleading appointment booking practices and the long wait as well. I took the afternoon off of work to come here and it's clear that not only do appointments not start anywhere near on time, but that the entire 1.5 hours I'm supposed to spend here once I'm seen is going to be a waste of both a lot of my time, and some unknown amount of money. I don't like getting my eyes poked and dilated for no reason and losing valuable vacation time to boot. It's incredibly dishonest for PAMF to book revenue for a visit that is literally not what the doctor ordered. The bait and switch attempt should require patient approval. If you've also been referred here for specialty care, beware and keep looking.

But you can request one type in both eyes, if you wish. The problem is that he isn't nice to Women, from reading the online reviews....and talking to two female friends who had Cataract Surgery from him...but both had Lasik surgery a few years beforehand, which made the Cataract Surgery much more complicated and less successful. Her macular specialist recommended cataract surgery; however, her regular eye doctor refused to perform it, believing she was too old and that the risks were too high. We were very discouraged and began seeking a second opinion. I found Dr. Liu on Yelp. After examining my mom's left eye, he was confident that he could perform the surgery safely. The surgery went very smoothly, and my mom didn't feel much pain or discomfort afterward. It turned out that my left wye was infected with a virus. I was glad to be seen with the upmost professional services during this vulnerable time. I was seen just before Thanksgiving so again, I was very thankful Dr. Ray and his team took the time to see me. Dr. Ray performed a thorough examination and took the time to find out what my symptoms were. After examining my eyes, Dr. Ray discovered that my eye was infected with a virus and provided my with the medication to be able to preform normal duties for my Thanksgiving weekend. I regularly see very elderly patients with complex eye issues here. The very bad part. They're pretty bad at the total turnaround time. While they have improved significantly in making sure that patients get seen quickly by the staff, it's often the doctor who seems to be the bottleneck here. Perhaps, if they're seeing so many patients they need to increase the number of doctors available. Been waiting here for the doctor for over 30 mins. And was just told by the attendant that there are additionally two more patients ahead of me. I cannot be wasting over an hour waiting on a doctor. At this point, I've given up on this practice, and have walked out without being seen by the doctor. I'm taking my business elsewhere.
