Let's face it. The holiday season is upon us and unless you're really ill, who wants to spend even…read morean hour in your doc's office? A trip there often promotes anxiety and fear. I'm different! I always have a good time with my docs but then again, I've tons of medical issues. My secret is I have a sure fire way of bonding with my docs! My heart was due for an annual check and Dr. Patrick Kevlin, a renowned cardiologist in Santa Rosa, was a superb choice although I'm not saying he's the world's best! If you suspect your heart is 'mal- ticking' or if you feel any discomforts or pains, go see him in a heartbeat (or dial 911 or pop into the nearest ER in an emergency)! Dr. Devlin's front office was decked, like in my fireplace, with Santa's stockings one for each staff. The front receptionists were warm and welcoming. 3 pm appointment meant 3 pm. No wait time wasted unlike some restaurants! Olga, the Medical Assistant, did the routine pre-checking: Weight....oops!; Temperature....checked; Oximeter reading....perfect; Pulse......acceptable; BP....like a 21 year old! Then walked in Dr. Devlin and he went straight down to biz. The tick-tocks of my heart were unmistakable and audible albeit irregular. (Atrial fibrillation is the doc's mumbo jumbo for this condition, so high sounding and intimidating!). This condition shouldn't be ignored as it can lead to a fatal blood clot in your lungs or brain. I have a list of my current meds and he went through the contraindications of each one with a fine toothcomb almost like Sherlock Holmes in his magnifying glass. It almost seemed like he was rewarded for his efforts when he stumbled into 2 different pills that I take simultaneously. "These 2 meds are essentially the same and you shouldn't be taking both at the same time!" "Back off on one!" Yessiree Doc! He didn't see a problem with the results of my last EKG (Electrocardiogram) presented in sheets of graph paper. This would help the doc detect and predict future heart problems. Reading between the lines, I think he meant something else might kill me first before my heart. Dr Devlin is a soft-spoken man who was intense when he needed. Then he relaxed and exhibited great bedside manners. He took his time to speak slowly and lucidly but best of all, he allowed me time to ask my questions. I love his relaxed demeanor and I was impressed by his unassuming professionalism, infectious optimism and his genuine concern for his patients. Going out to celebrate to my heart's content tonight in spite of my dismal results last week on my other illness! In the meantime, my ticker ticks well as certified by Dr. Devlin!

I never thought I'd find someone to help me with the removal of my facial hair. It was out of…read morecontrol and more than I could deal with. It all started when I used one of those stupid Finishing Touch Hair removal wands that essentially shaves or buzzes off your hair. I didn't really have any facial hair other than a few white/clear hairs under my chin, and they were hardly noticeable. I only used the damn thing to try it out because a friend had just bought one...little did I know that would turn into a daily battle for over 10 years. The more I plucked, shaved and trimmed, the more dark hairs came in. And as the shaving and plucking traveled down my neck and up over my cheeks just below my eyes, I knew I had to find a way to get rid of this hair, or I'd forever be holding tweezers and a razor. If I didn't keep up on it, I'd have a full on beard in about a week. The amount of time and energy I had to spend on keeping my face hair free was too much...and after a while, I just couldn't take it anymore. I went online and looked for local hair removal places that may be able to help. I found North Bay Laser and decided to give a call. Rebecca was very patient, helpful and understanding. The pricing for facial and neck hair removal was a bit steep for me, but it was nothing compared to the incredible insecurity I felt on a daily basis from my embarrassing facial hair. I decided to go for it and see if she could help me. Best decision I've ever made! I've had about 12 treatments with Rebecca, the last one being 6 months ago and I'm just about hair free! It took a good year of going in every 6-9 weeks, but it was worth every penny because I have nearly no hair on my face. The laser does not work for white or clear hairs, they have to have some pigment to them. I am Italian, so my hair was dark and easy to see, yet easy to remove as well. The process takes a little getting used to. It's quick but it's slightly painful...I mostly felt like it was an overload to my senses since she had to point the laser in areas on my face that were close to my ears and eyes. It took some getting used to but by the 3rd session, I was fine and knew what to expect. Now my face and neck are smooth and I'm not breaking out anymore from plucking or shaving. I never used to let people touch my face, now I welcome it. No more spending time in front of the bathroom mirror every morning. No more worrying about going out and being stared at or having people comment about my hairy face. I can't thank Rebecca enough for helping me. Her laser hair removal truly works, and believe me, I was skeptical. If what I described sounds like a battle you're dealing with, call Rebecca and make an appointment. Don't wait and continue to go through life feeling embarrassed like I did. I lost so many years feeling self conscious about my facial hair, and now it's not even a thought anymore because it's all GONE! I love North Bay Laser.

I have waited a very long time to schedule my next laser session after calling in to ask about how red things were looking (this concern came not from me originally, but from another Dr who commented that things looked too red and wanted to know what setting was used....). Yesterday, Dr Erickson finally left a voicemail stating he would not schedule my next treatment. 10/1 Looking back on the situation, I know that his failure to be present during the actual treatment is very illegal, and am not sure prided I ran into so many issues with my healing timeline (being told for two months that things are "supposed to look worse before they look better," and that my misshapen breast implant "don't look too bad.") The right implant is now mishapen after having too strong a laser used by Hannah, who is not licensed to be using these devices. I originally stated I did not even want to do the breast region, and only wanted to continue treatments in the hope that the one initial area I had asked for (my shin), could actually be addressed.

Her dad, who I have referred to as my baby daddy here on yelp, was laying on the floor after a long day at work out there flipping meat on the BBQ at Fircrest. He's really old, so he's a whiner. He creaks and cracks with every movement. So needless to say when our very large three-year-old did the cannon ball on his chest he was hurt. And many woman out there, Y'all know what I'm talking about. Men are winners when they are sick or hurt. ***That being said I just spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone no exaggeration trying to find a primary care doctor. He went to the ER a couple weeks ago but he is still walking around holding his abdomen like a wuss. Big surprise. No joke I spent 2 1/2 hours on this phone trying to find a primary care doctor. And yes we have insurance - we have excellent insurance. I had conversations with some of the rudest effing people I've ever talked to in my life. And I know I can be abrasive but i usually try and keep it light. Everybody hates their job these days I guess. Rude after another rude. All right I'm trying not to swear so I hope you get my point. ***I was just about to give up. When suddenly this ANGEL answered the phone. I shit you not she was a freaking angel. Not only did I not have to repeat myself 20 times. I gave her the same two minute run down I gave every other person of the details. Not only did I not have to repeat myself, which I despise doing, she did not ask me to re-spell our last name seven times. I couldn't believe how smart she was I offered her a job. She of course just laughed at me. And I was I ok with that. ***She booked my baby daddy an appointment for a week and a half out and she put us on the cancellation list. I was willing to let my baby daddy suffer for the next week and a half to get a decent doctor. Within 10 minutes of hanging up with this young lady - I was literally in the middle of writing this review. She calls me back to tell me that there's an opening for tomorrow at 10. COULD IT GET ANY BETTER!! ***Megan. If every business had one of you. The world would be a better place. I hope your doctor appreciates you. If it wasn't for you I would probably have no hair because I would be pulling it all out by now. Thank you. You are definitely an angel in disguise *******As always thank you for reading and have a peachy day*******
