The doctor is nice, and if you need an appointment soon, you can usually find one here. But…read moreseveral times I have called requesting an appointment for something specific, and when I go in for that appointment, the doctor doesn't even do what I came for. Examples: I requested a checkup more than once, went in, and the doctor didn't give me a checkup. He just checked my blood pressure and a couple other things, then showed me to the door. I reminded him that I came for a checkup. He said, "Oh, you should have told me sooner that you wanted that." And he wouldn't give me a checkup at that moment because our appointment was now over. So I had to schedule yet another appointment just to get a checkup. On another occasion, I set up an appointment for him to refer me to a specialist for a specific procedure. I went to the appointment, he gave me a referral. But when I called that referral for my procedure, the person said I couldn't get one without my primary doctor's referral, which I THOUGHT I got, but apparently not! Instead, he referred me for some other procedure which I didn't even want!

He has helped me overcome hypertension, swelling in my legs, he takes my ECGs. He has ordered tests for blood work, and cholesterol screening. He has in-clinic capabilities for most of this. He has treated and cured me of gout. He proactively changed my triglyceride prescription to a new one that has been FDA cleared for proven longevity. Only once he momentarily paused to formulate an answer to my existential question, "How will I know if I will live longer on this new med?" I withdrew the question - It dawned on me that I would know because thanks to his expertise, I would still be here next year and for years after to ask these eclectic questions. He is deeply knowledgeable of general medicine and answers all my questions in detail. I am so grateful for him and his medicine.

One day when I was venting my frustration, a friend recommended that I see Dr. Samantha. I am SO glad I did. She has developed a plan that successfully addresses each of my issues in a way that isn't at the expense of another. I had never experienced that before. She is exactly what I think a doctor should be: intelligent, extremely detail oriented, open minded about treatment methods, and focused on how all of my issues interact. I only wish I found her sooner! Miranda (acupuncturist) is one of the sweetest people ever. She is very attentive, and knows what she is doing. If I ever need acupuncture again, I am definitely going to her. I also LOVE the design/decor of the whole office. It is professional without being sterile feeling. I love their style. It is relaxing and just nice to be there soaking up the ambiance.

It was the most horrific pain I have ever had in my life and people say it is worse then child birth, kidney stones, etc, and I believe it. The doctors didn't know what was wrong (it would be almost 5 months before a doctor correctly read the July MRI and confirmed the herniated disc). Miranda Frear used acupuncture to both help me control the pain a restore my ability to walk and function. Daily acupuncture for the first couple of weeks was the only treatment I had. I saw several different acupuncturists but the treatments that Miranda administered were noticeably more effective and the results more profound. She simply knew where to place the needles each time to address my problem better then anyone else I tried. Acupuncture proved to be very effective for controlling the leg nerve pain related to my herniated disc. I stopped using the narcotics that the doctor had given me after 4 days and never took them again. After each treatment I got both great temporary relief (like 80%) increased mobility and reduced pain for a few hours and also got some progressively permanent improvement each time (like 2-10%). It would take several weeks of treatments to get fully functional again, then months of gradual physical activity including yoga to finally stop having pain and tingling and regain my muscle strength in my leg. By the time an excellent Neurosurgeon confirmed my herniated disc in November, and told me that I probably wouldn't need surgery, I was well on the way to recovery. I cannot thank Miranda enough for getting me through this very tough time! Update: Miranda has moved on and can now be found at the Cherry Blossom clinic at the Oriental school of medicine.
