Dr. Hadi is highly educated and is the type of psychiatrist that actually wants to get to the root cause of the problems you are having. He sits and talks to you, never rushing you. Dr. Hadi is not like the other psychiatrists you will see who toss you a script and tell you to try it out. He goes over the options you have then explains the medications and side effects and sees what you feel comfortable with. I would strongly urge Yelp readers to consider seeing her. She is great but her old office wasn't the best (she was sub-letting from a computer company). Fortunately she recently moved into a new office which is much nicer. Her husband helps her with scheduling so it is a "family business." He is very friendly and they always return my phone calls within a day. They also respond very quickly to text messages. I missed an appointment once and they waived my cancellation fee because they knew I was having financial hardships. I have been seeing psychiatrists for 20 years and Dr. Reddy is probably the best one I've seen. I'm very happy with her. You have to understand the limits of a modern psychiatry practice (they aren't therapists!) but, within those limits, Dr. Reddy performs very very well. I don't live near her office actually (I used to live closer) but I continue to drive out of my way and see her (even though it is somewhat inconvenient) because a good psychiatrist is worth his or her weight in gold. Office switched portals. Office says they mailed a single statement out in October. 12/11 received a collections notice. Curiously, there's a notice from the collection agency but nothing from Sterling Behavioral. Contacted the billing office to see what is going on and to resubmit the claim to insurance as requested by the insurance company or pay the bill and file myself for reimbursement. Tera at Sterling Behavioral replied... "Unfortunately, with no communication from you, after 120 days bills get sent to collections. Once that is done, we can not accept payments and it needs to go through the collection agency." 09/20 to 12/11 is NOT 120 days!!!

There were a couple of times when I needed to ask her questions over the phone about possible interactions of her prescription with other medication and she has always been very prompt with returning calls and providing the required information. She has also been gentle and empathetic yet firm and encouraging in discussing issues during office visits. The practice has therapists as well, whom I have not used - Dr. Kader was able to suggest a therapist closer to my home and save me the long ride. The ladies at the office have always been nice, professional and good about scheduling follow up visits as per my convenience. When inclement weather caused them to cancel one of my visits they were pretty good about accommodating me in the schedule within a day - perhaps this is something all doctors do, nevertheless I thought it pretty efficient. At the first visit and one time at a follow up visit (which is scheduled for 15mins) I sensed she was glancing at the clock, which is a bit disconcerting given that a patient in a psychiatrists office is in an emotionally vulnerable place to start with and would like to have the time he/she needs to explain their situation - especially in the first visit. Having said that though I also have to say that Dr. Abdel-Kader is very polite and nice and does not really hurry you up. I have always found her to be pleasant, professional, respectful and supportive. In all I am really glad to have found Dr. Abdel-Kader and am thankful she is my doctor.
