One Sunday afternoon after a long line of beers in the pub we came to the following conversation...
What is the pikiest place in England? How could this be quantified?
We decided that the best measurement to estimate how pikey a town is would be the following equation.
Pikeyness Score = No. of Greggs / (Population of town in 100,000s)
You don't have to be a genius to know that Putney, with its rahrah rowing crowd, gets a low pikeyness score. Only 1 Greggs here. But I still love this Greggs. It's quick cheap and everything is dependably salty and fatty just like in every Greggs around the country. This was the first place I spent money in the UK last month when I got back from Thailand and I'm proud of that fact. So much better than buying a fake italian coffee somewhere poncey at the train station next door. Get a proper British cheapo coffee and a hot sausage roll. Wonderful welcome back home!
