I've always been a fan of Greggs, there's just something about their Sausage Rolls and Cheese & Onion Pasties that's so damn addictive! Soft flaky pastries with soft warm gooey fillings. Yum!
I also used to have a terrible addiction with their Chicken Salad Sandwich which they don't seem to do the same thing anymore. The filling was just very standard delivered already made Chicken Mayo but with the bread.. O-M-G heaven! Soft, squishy, fresh out of the oven bread makes any basic sandwich a winner.
This location is alright. For some reason whenever I have visited they have never been busy, maybe the locals are too busy hanging around the local McD's spending their dole money instead of coming here.
Last visit here was when I was back in the country briefly (after relocating to California) and it hasn't changed one bit. The lady that served me didn't appear all that happy to be working at 10am on a Sunday morning (shock!) but she managed a weak smile and served me my fresh Cream filled Belgian Bun (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/RAR0i0l20RCQbwqNZeQOxw?select=dxA17UVEccJc2DKcwSz4yA#dxA17UVEccJc2DKcwSz4yA). Which to my surprise was actually cheaper than the standard Belgian Bun, kind of bizarre to me that more ingredients = cheaper but hey, I'm not complaining!
I saved for the bun for later that day and it was DELICIOUS. Soft, sweet and loaded with cream which undoubtably went straight to my ass.
Damn, I miss Greggs. When will you hurry up and open some places across the pond so I can get my fix?! read more
