I used to think the best pastries in the world were in Paris, and if you compare city-wide pastry scenes that's probably still true. However, for the quantitatively best pastry, look no further than this unassuming storefront in Rochester. Your eye will be caught by an array of delectables displayed in the window. And they taste every bit as good as they look - maybe more.
We got three jam donuts, two jam pies (the lemon was best) and a few other items for under 5 pounds. Without a doubt the best pastries I've eaten in my life, and I've made it a point to eat quite a few. Eating jelly donuts at the top of Rochester Castle will always be one of my favorite memories. read more
