I have rarely encountered a doctor in any field that is so responsive and genuine in his care for his patients.

Getting test results often required repeated follow-ups, and appointment wait times were frequently excessive. My most recent visit was unacceptable. I came in for a follow-up after a serious hospital stay and was turned away because the office claimed they hadn't received a fax, despite it being sent the prior week. No real effort was made to locate it, and I was even refused when I offered to email the records myself. Dr. Dyer never spoke to me directly and instead made dismissive, disrespectful comments to staff within earshot. Given the length of time I was a patient and the circumstances, this was deeply unprofessional. I will not be returning and do not recommend this practice.

She gave me an endoscopy told me that there was a flap inside of my stomach that is supposed to keep the acid out, but mine is not working properly. She never gave me a resolution. I've been calling her office for months, leaving messages. No return phone calls whatsoever. Then she refused to fill my medication again, even though in her own very words, this was the only medication that was left on the market, with the exception of Famotidine. She only works two days out the week Monday and Wednesday and I called leaving several message, begging and pleading for someone to call me back. Never received a return phone call for months. A horrific horrible experience. She did absolutely nothing to help me. If I could give her zero stars, I would. She should be ashamed.

My physician referred me to a doctor who had an extremely long wait list, (December) to me, it was way too long to live with a 'what if I have..?' So the scheduler suggested Dr Kulik. I live in the suburbs and the Northwestern hospital downtown location was a last resort. I arrived an hour early and Dr Kulik's nurse brought me back just moments after checking in. That was a nice surprise. Dr Kulik showed me the results of my blood tests, asked a lot of questions and was simply the best doctor to be on the other side of a scared, nervous and worried patient. She ordered a few more tests to include an MRI. Dr Kulik and I kept in touch via my chart as I'm a tech geek so I want to be on top of things..what were the results, What does this mean, blah blah blah. And she was always responsive as was my primary physician. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr Kulik. She's compassionate, funny (I was scared but she had me smiling) and her expertise put me at ease. I highly recommend Dr Kulik and want her to know , I'm grateful for the care she provided. She's an example of what a health provider should be.

Northwestern has very good MDs and excellent facilities ... if the off event happens with scheduling or the like - no worries. You are seeing the best hands in the business, and that is what you are paying for. We had a colonoscopy/endoscopy scheduled and were in and out in a jiffy. Yes scheduling is a hassle, and understanding what the MD found is difficult when you are all drugged up, but the hospital and the practitioners are top-notch. While it is a hassle driving downtown every other year or so, it is totally worth it to have access to these professionals. In sum, quit complaining and appreciate the wonderful medicine we have available here in the States - and especially here in Chicago.

I had put off this procedure for 5 years because of all the horror stories I had heard from others. The team was very understanding, proactive and the instructions were very clear. I appreciated all the text reminders too - that was extremely helpful!! I am so happy I followed Dr. Lotsu's instructions rather than the ones that were on the prep box or the various "tips" I read when googling this procedure. Dr. Lotsu and his team have made what is usually described as one of the most unpleasant screening procedures as professional and as "good" as it could possibly be. The procedure itself is definitely not pleasant - but I'm certain that developing and/or fighting cancer would be 1000x worse.... The most discomfort I felt was from having to go a day without eating and I was so freakin' hungry. The prep wasn't even bad - the taste was fine. The exorcism of the demons wasn't that bad either - I was expecting an intestinal terrorist attack, but it really wasn't horrible and it was over in an hour. Dr. Lotsu personally called me with the results later in the day and explained everything to me. He is very professional but also very personable. If I have anything un-positive to say or any suggestions for improvement, it would be that I expected to be 5 pounds lighter this morning, and the weight loss was only 1.4.... and that pillow was super comfortable - I could have slept for another hour or two. Maybe next time - ?

So I made an appointment and did as she advised. Drs Osipova and Adajar were just as fantastic during that consult. I determined I was not going to go forward with surgery right now, but would work on some lifestyle issues to see if that would help. I had blood drawn and Dr Adajar let me know numbers and his recommendations based on my numbers. And then it went downhill. I talked with Dr. Adajar's assistant Michelle, and felt like I was being sold a used car. She wouldn't let me talk, and was just throwing out price tags for consultations that needed to take place, weight loss medicine and vitamins and hormones I needed to buy, etc. When I would try to talk, she wouldn't hear me and I finally just asked her to have Dr. Adajar call me so I could understand what this Xsculpt work was that he does, and talk through what would be the best course of action for me to take next. That request to talk to him was made over a month ago, and I haven't heard from him. I even texted him on his cell, since he used that form of communication with me after my blood test results were in. I got no response. The experience started out great, but then turned into something I didn't understand. And I am left with a bill to pay for the bloodwork and no course of action to take that you usually work out with a medical professional. I wanted to let others know about my experience here so they could take it into account if they decided to visit this office.

He did not meet with me before or after the procedure to explain what he planned to do or to discuss the results. After I woke up from anesthesia, I waited for a very long time while nurses repeatedly reminded him that I was waiting. When he finally came in, he only spoke briefly and said he would let me know the results. I never received any follow-up from him or his office. Even when my other specialists later requested the endoscopy report, they received nothing. Recently, another gastroenterologist confirmed that no procedure notes or findings were ever documented from him! This experience shows a serious lack of professionalism, communication, and patient respect. It's unacceptable that a physician could act with such disregard for care and responsibility!
