I'd give this store zero stars if I could!! I grew up in Uvalde and loved this store. Sadly, when…read moremy 86 year old grandmother in law took her diamond ring into be cleaned they sent it "out". When she returned to get it, the diamonds totally 3 carats had been replaced by moissanites. They were grey and lack luster indicative of the fake man made diamonds. Her ring was custom made in 1923 and had been on her finger for over 60 years when they stole them from her. Her eyes were damaged by macular degeneration and nearly blind but it was easy to see that the diamonds were fake. They must've thought she couldn't see and who would know. Paula Neimeyer and H.O. Niemeyer were humble but notable members of this community. H.O. served as the 11th District Representative under JFK in the 60s. They didn't care and didn't listen to either of them when Paula protested. There was very little they could do. I remember the sad look in her vacant eyes the day she came home with what was left of her beautiful ring on her hand. This place didn't have the decency to even try to investigate or offer any further explanation. They made it clear that H.O. and Paula had no proof of the theft and that they should leave. I don't know what ever became of the police investigation. I will never give this place business.
