I contracted with the former owner Miguel Mora in early October 2025 for some removal of a few trees, pruning of shrubs, in our backyard and the laying of a weed- blocking plastic sheet in flower/shrub beds in the backyard, west side of our house, and front yard, with all areas to be covered with bark dust 3 to 4 inches thick, and paid $11,436 for the job. The job was "completed" by the end of October. Rainfall made it almost impossible to inspect the "completed" work. Eventually, my wife and I inspected the bark dust covered areas and noted extensive parts were not covered with bark dust revealing the black weed-blocking plastic sheet in all of the areas - back yard, side and front yard. In addition, two sprinklers were covered with the weed-blocker sheet and bark dust. I emailed Miguel in late early March, and received a telephone call from Miguel's nephew Alex Aldape, Operations Manager of Sierra Lakes who told me that his Uncle MIguel had passed away. In this conversation and many subsequent emails, and including a visit, Alex committed to adding bark dust to increase the depth to 3 - 4 inches and uncover the sprinklers. Despite several commitments (at least 4), including one this past week, he has failed to show up. His Uncle Miguel, an honorable man, would not be pleased I strongly recommend NOT using Sierra Lake Landscaping (aka Sierra Lake Maintenance)! Thomas L. A very friendly workman did show up at about 10:00 am, and removed weeds (Weed Whacker - Alex told me in person that he (Alex) would apply weed killer - none was applied), and the workman laid down a considerable amount of mulch, which looks very good.
