On the appointed day the crew showed up, promptly at the agreed-upon time. They were very careful about not damaging my wife's plants--or our house. The had the tree down in a couple of hours, and then spent a lot of time cleaning up sawdust and detritus after the job was done, both on my property and on my neighbor's. While other contractors wanted to bring in excavators for 12x the cost, Marcell and his crew hand dug the trench in compacted clay soil. The benefit of doing this was they were able to get as close to the fence line without disturbing the fence. Marcell's price was economical, quality of work exceeding my expectations and overall a reliable contractor which is challenging to find today. I will hire Marcell again for future landscaping projects in DC.

I hired this person to cut my grass, but the finished result looked rushed and incomplete. As you can see from the photo, the grass was left uneven, several areas were barely cut, and there was little attention to detail around the sidewalk, fence, and edges. When you pay someone for lawn service, you expect the property to look noticeably better when they leave. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. The work did not meet a reasonable professional standard, and based on the quality of the job I received, I would not recommend this service.

He talked through any prior water retention issues I had, and came up with a plan to future proof our house from any flooding that could happen with big storms. The crew were back out within a few days and executed the plan as Cliff specified. The laborers placed one of the pop-ups a little too close to the house, and without any intervention, the day-of-supervisor spoke with me to let me know they would extend it according to plan, and corrected everything. They also replaced my sump pump, which was not the easiest thing due to a seized grate closure (see pics), and at a fraction of the price quoted by plumbers. I was really impressed with how quick everything was completed, and for a job like this (digging long trenches to run PVC), my yard looks nearly immaculate. They gave me instructions to heal the grass patches so my lawn would look as it did before in no time. After the work was done, Cliff reached out to make sure all was working well when it rained. I highly recommend reaching out to Nature's Friend for any of your needs -- you can tell they really care about their customers, and I will be reaching out to them for any future landscaping needs.

Saving money in the short run for a crappy job, you'll end up paying a lot more in the long run when you have someone else fix all of the mistakes. I've made that error before and paid dearly. It's the equivalent of buying cheap pants you have to replace every year, vs paying a bit more for quality pants that last a decade. Ok, sermon over. Did more awesome work! Lots of mulching and weeding. These are both jobs that are easy to do half-assed. Pull a few weeds and throw some mulch over them. Less thorough landscapers also use just a thin layer of mulch instead of a thicker layer like you are supposed to. Melvin Reyes and his crew did as good of a job as could be done. I was home and looked out every once in a while to see them painstakingly weeding and using a good thick layer of mulch throughout. Front and backyard are transformed, A plus!

We settled on them clearing a single 80-90 foot path from street, up three steps to door for $350. They didn't clear the sidewalk, just scraped a path through the lawn, removing some of the grass. We were desperate and feel overcharged. NOTE: Photos taken after someone else cleared most the driveway--for 88% less!
