It can be difficult to find honest and reliable HVAC companies, but this experience stood out. I had several questions prepared about my refrigerant, capacitor, and overall system, but I found that I did not even need to ask them because Jerry naturally addressed those topics during our conversation and explained everything clearly. He also completed a detailed inspection of my HVAC closet and offered a helpful recommendation for a better filter. The service was straightforward, with a flat fee and no upselling or pressure, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely be using Cold Comfort again for my annual maintenance.

When I asked…read morewhat time the technician would arrive, I was told that the service window was from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. I had to take an entire day off from work and wait at home for the technician. Around 12:00 PM, I called to check on the status, and the AI representative told me that a note would be left regarding my call. I called again around 3:30 PM and received the same response. The service window has now passed, and no technician ever showed up. I wasted an entire day waiting at home, with no meaningful update or communication about when--or whether--the technician was coming. This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. If the company could not make the appointment, they should have notified me rather than leaving me waiting all day. I would not do business with this company again, and I would not recommend them to others.

They are professional, punctual, knowledgeable and do good quality work. I very much respect the…read moretechnician, but the problem appears to lie with the company's practices and fees. The main problem and downside is that they are very expensive and overcharge. Despite the Yelp page saying that the company provides a "free estimate", I was quoted $49 for the technician to travel. In addition, if I had not chosen to go ahead with the repair, the company would have charged me an additional $150 diagnostic fee. Essentially, despite the yelp profile stating a "free estimate", it will cost you closer to $200 to get a quote. I see this as false advertisement. In addition, when the technician concluded that the problem was the capacitor, I received a final quote of $600. When I googled the price of the same capacitor online, the price range was in between 75$ - 150$. Essentially, they are charging a premium of at least $450 per replacement for a single part (capacitor). Despite their professionalism and quality work, I do not recommend this company for the reasons stated above. If price is not a concern for you, and you would rather pay twice the market value for a job then you should definitely choose them. EDIT: I actually googled the price of a capacitor and offered to buy my own. I was told that by the technician that if I purchased my own capacitor that the company would not install it. In conclusion, they did not address any of my concerns. Unfortunately, after reading the other bad reviews, there seems to be a consistent pattern of discrepancies between what they tell customers and what they instruct technicians to say on site. Making an honest living is so much more rewarding than making it dishonest living.
