The school incorporates some of the best features of Reggio Emillia and Montessori approach to learning. There is such a strong culture of social education - kids learning how to interact kindly and pro-socially with one another. The teachers (Ms Maria and Ms Allison) are wonderful and warm. You can tell that they really do care about the kids. The student-teacher ratio is fabulous so there's always an adult to lead a project, help, encourage when needed. They really view each child as special and give them the attention that they need. The head of school, Ms Heather is excellent and professional. She truly prioritizes the school-family partnership, and is always working with families. They were all so helpful and gracious about our request regarding our child's snack. We would highly recommend this school to families looking for excellent teachers and a close-knit school community.

Since they trusted LCP with all of their kids, we figured it was worth checking out at least. We went in for a tour and met the directors and teachers and immediately fell in love with LCP. The teachers are devoted to their craft. They are attentive, patient, and really cared for and got to know our daughter. In the beginning, she wouldn't take to nap time after school, and Mrs. Tootle (who wasn't even her primary teacher) was wonderful enough to spend time with her and to "snuggle her" until she felt comfortable and safe to nap during after care! We still talk about those sweet snuggles 5 years later. During her time at LCP, she learned all the basics she'd need to be ready for K, along with some invaluable Bible stories, too. We would highly recommend LCP!

My older son is now thriving at a local kindergarten. But just the other day, he confided in me, "Mommy, you know, Good Shepherd was more fun."

The teachers at TBANS are so caring and dedicated, and they bent over backwards to make our child…read morefeel welcome. The school uses an "emergent" curriculum in early childhood where the subjects come from a children themselves; this approach has encouraged curiosity and interest in learning new things which, though not exactly "preparing a child for kindergarten" (as a previous reviewer stated), certainly prepares a child for life in the world. The focus on socialization and developmentally-appropriate interaction is meaningful for many of the students and families who attend. Preschools in this county struggle to toe the line between curricular rigor and age-appropriate programming, but TBANS errs on the side of age-appropriateness. The program has some drawbacks, primarily a marked lack of clear structure and routines which are of particular importance for a child with special needs and non-academic benchmarks which make assessing school readiness challenging; however, we have found the school to be willing to solicit and open to receiving feedback from a variety of partners. Though it has been a tumultuous year all around, we cannot fault TBANS for trying. Its faculty's dedication, professionalism, and care will stay with us and with our child long after he and we have moved on from preschool. Families will be in good hands at TBANS.

Outside of the classroom, students engage in weekly specials: music, movement, STEAM lab, and Hebrew. The school also has the most amazing playground I have ever seen, a replica of Jerusalem that looks like a castle. I am always impressed by the creativity of the staff. My favorite annual event is Israel's Independence Day. The children board a pretend plane and take a trip to Israel with the director (Pilot Jen). Once in "Israel," the kids can get their passport stamped, shop at an Israeli market, taste Israeli foods, and put notes in the Western Wall. I would recommend this school without hesitation. Both my boys thrived from the teaching at this school, who understood that "boys need to get their wiggles out." The large playground and emphasis on nature is so good for them and feeds their curious nature. They grow ducklings from eggs every year at the kindergarten class! There are two recesses a day if you are there the full day, and a third one during aftercare if you are a working parent who wants to pick your child up later. My boys seldom returned "utterly exhausted" as one may expect from a long day at school (which was the case with my older son when I tried public school for a year), but tired and content. My boys took Art, Soccer, Chinese, Green Thumbs classes that were conveniently offered without a separate pickup/drop off. Most teachers knew my boys names by mid year, and are all so kind. My only wish is that it goes through fifth grade!

I was impressed by the brochure and website. But, when I asked my child if you did this...or did you do that?....based on the brochure. Answer was no, no...nothing, none of those! So, they are very good at marketing with fancy flyers and brochures but sadly nothing is going on. If your child is underdeveloped....can i assure you it is likely due to this school. We had made this mistake before when we thought oh...we are paying solid $$$, so probably kid will have solid fun and development. We paid solid $$$, but we got just minimum daycare from Geneva. We have seen some really good programs....so we have very good perspective on when schools are just for minting money and when school really put 100% or 200% effort to help with child development. Cmon guys....it is not hard. At least, do what you say in your brochure. How hard is it to give some bubbles, playdoh, slime or bug catching kit to kids? They cost pennies. If you will just leave the kids in the playground for free play all day....that does not help with their development. My child just reported me that some kids were CRYING ALL DAY!!!! Seriously? Where is the money going?
