I spent a lot of money for this camp and stopped sending her because she was clearly scared of the people, Ms. Maureen and her assistant. I watched from my car the second day after I dropped her off and neither one of the teachers tried to help my daughter find a friend. She walked around sadly and I never saw her play. They said she "bounced back"after I brought her blanket and stuffed animal but it shouldnt take that to get a child to feel safe in a school. I was hesitant to put her in this camp because friends said when management changed the school lost the heart of what a kids school should be and now its all about money and I totally agree. This was the most disappointing experience.

I walk my toddler to class everyday and we're always greeted with a warm hello from every staff member we see. It truly feels like a wonderful village of people caring for my toddler as they all know his name. I appreciate the communication via the app keeping me informed of daily activity including adorable photos. Each month the teacher sends out a newsletter discussing what they learned, as well as what they have planned for the upcoming month. We also receive a calendar of the snack and lunch menu which is greatly appreciated. I believe they are invested in cultivating a rich environment for the children grow and learn. I am beyond grateful to be apart of this school!

We attended two other preschools in the area prior to moving to Great Falls and ending up at Creche. I can say without hesitation that Creche offers the perfect balance of hand's on learning combined with an emphasis on learning through play. The teachers are warm, nurturing and collaborative. My daughter struggles sometimes with emotional regulation. I speak with her teacher regularly about her progress. We share strategies and observations and have teamed together to collaborate on her success. In addition to the positive overall learning environment, Creche offers a strong sense of community for the parents, which is unique. The school sponsors social activities throughout the year and the parents have many opportunities to get to know each other, which is beneficial to the kids. My older daughter left well prepared for kindergarten and I have no doubt that my younger daughter will be as well.

There is a great community at the school and parents and kids do things outside of classroom. Children learn in a classroom setting as well as have fun, we especially love the attention to time outdoors and nature based projects. We feel our children were very well prepared to go into Kindergarten after attending Kings Kids, they were even reading. The teachers are patient and pay attention the children and help their individual needs, for instance the year before kindergarten my son was struggling with his pencil grip and his teacher took time to help him correct it and she helped me with ideas to implement at home. This is our last year and we are going to miss the cute projects that come home and the sweet friendships that have been fostered over our time there. The school is diverse and inclusive no matter your faith or background.

We're finishing up our fourth year at PGDS, and my son is going to start soon (my nephew is there…read moretoo). I can't say enough good things about this place (and I even waited four years to write a review just to be sure). For starters, though, there is a good chance you need to know this: the preschools in this area are fantastic. Your child will be fine, and you're doing a good job. I looked at 12 schools before choosing this place for my daughter who has a September birthday and misses the MCPS cut off (little did I realize how big a deal this is). I almost didn't consider this school because it has a Christian affiliation and my family is half Muslim and also not religious. Surprisingly, I found this school to be just the right amount of religious (do charity, be a good person, take pics with Santa) and non of the crazy things I thought it would be (like the documentary Jesus Camp). I was also surprised to find that the student body was very ethnically and even a little religiously diverse. When I was looking at schools, I really wanted a preschool as opposed to a daycare, and that is what this school is. My daughter would start class in September and stay there and have the same teacher all year. (Camp was more flexible, but we also loved that experience too!) The teacher retention at this school is incredible. Another thing, they are not strict about potty training by a young age in order for your child to move up a grade. (This is an important thing, but I didn't realize it would be when I was looking at schools.) So, back to my point about the September birthday, this school has a fabulous transitional kindergarten for kiddos born too late to go to MCPS, but too old to be in pre-K again. It was the perfect thing for my kiddo, and I'm grateful that her teachers (in all the grades) focused on not just learning but fun, kindness, understanding emotions and being a good community member. The families that attend here are fun too, and an added bonus to my daughter making friends is that I did too.

The most important factor to me is that I feel comfortable leaving my kids here and I know that they are in good trusted hands. All the teachers they have had so far are amazing. Our favorites are Miss Gina, Leslie, Indira and Megan. The office staff (Bekah, Jackie and Angela) are very accommodating to our needs. Miss Karen who runs the aftercare is a gem. My children come home with a good balance of learning and playtime. There is a good mixture of History, Geography, Math, Science, and Reading in the curriculum. Their facility is clean. Their tuition rate is competitive as well. My daughter gets extremely excited when she knows she is going to school. The only con is that their Spring and Winter breaks do not align with MCPS.

We were looking for a place that could offer structure, smaller class sizes, and an individualized approach to learning for his Pre-K and Kindergarten years. We could not be happier with making the switch and only wish we had done it sooner. The teachers and leadership at the school are wonderful and you can tell there is genuine care in the teaching and nurturing of each child in their care. Not only has the school and its teachers helped my son grow academically he has also learned so many practical life skills such as teaching others, sharing, celebrating differences, patience, and focus. The tuition includes so many additional benefits such as regularly scheduled fun events for the kids and their families during and outside of school hours (Fall Festival, Foam Party, Splash Days, Petting Zoo, Easter Egg hunt, breakfasts to celebrate holidays, etc..). There are opportunities to get to know the classroom and what your child learns each day as well as monthly coffee chats with the Director Nicole and chances to get to know other parents. The school also does a great job of bringing in other extra optional activities you can sign your child up for like a Lego Robotics Class, Dance Class, Basketball, Art Class, Soccer, Yoga and more)- these cost extra but are a nice way to introduce your child to new experiences throughout the year. All of this to say that Guidepost at Reston is a wonderful school, great community, and top notch value for helping your child grow academically and as a person. I would highly recommend this school!
