If you think you need to make changes to your review and you posted your review within the past 30 days, you can use the edit function to revise it." No thank you. Everything I said is 100% true and I have messages from them that prove it. Also, their response claims that they have no record of the theft incident, but my pictures include their written response to the incident, and a picture of the thief (allentuck employee,) so they are either lying or totally incompetent. I have also been by their business on Travillah multiple times because I have a property on the very next street in Mount Prospect. It is also 100% true that their employee Maria tried to sell us her son's landscaping company to do our backyard. We are an international family and speak Spanish so this is not a case of language barrier. I am no longer even interested in being compensated for the stolen item, I only hope my neighbors don't fall victim to this company. I honestly can't believe they are dragging their name through the mud because they were too cheap pay for the theft (under $100.) There are also 2 witnesses of the theft, and video. It was one of those situations where we had the lights off inside and there were lights outside so the thief apparently couldn't see us standing in the window directly in front them. We even waited to see if they would get a conscience and return the item because we previously had a good relationship with the employees who share our heritage. I honestly hope legal action is perused so this can gain more publicity. What the employee didn't a crime, and the company response is unacceptable and makes them an accomplice.

The owner wasted my time and demonstrated a disappointing lack of professionalism and…read moreconsideration. He visited my property in October and assured me that he would provide an estimate for planting and ongoing maintenance. He specifically explained that I had a limited window to get the planting done; otherwise, I would have to wait until spring 2027. A week passed with no follow-up. When I contacted the office, an assistant acknowledged that it was unusual for the estimate to take this long and assured me that she would remind the owner to send it. Nearly three weeks have now passed, and I have yet to receive an estimate or even the courtesy of an update, despite that follow-up. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is the complete lack of communication and consideration after the owner personally visited my property and discussed the work. I cannot help but question whether the decision to disregard my inquiry and failure to follow through has anything to do with racial bias. While I cannot say that definitively, the lack of response and the way I have been treated have certainly left me questioning whether I was given the same level of consideration that other prospective customers would receive. Regardless of the reason, this behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. I would not recommend this business to anyone. Customers deserve respect, transparency, and basic courtesy, regardless of who they are.

After five business days, I reached out to Ashley, their coordinator. Despite multiple messages sent to both her direct number and the number they were actively using to communicate with me, I received absolutely no response. I was ignored and left hanging for nearly three weeks. Only after that did they finally respond, stating they were too busy with other projects to take mine on. This raises an obvious question: if they were never interested, why schedule the estimate at all? This behavior shows a complete lack of professionalism, communication, and basic respect for a customer's time. Consider this a warning: expect poor communication, broken commitments, and wasted time if you choose to engage with this company. It appears they prioritize only high-margin jobs and silently drop others without the courtesy of a timely or honest response. However, just over a year later, the swale began collecting water again and failing to drain properly. The pipe they installed also became clogged. I reached out to the company a few months after the contract's warranty period had expired (March 2025), hoping they would stand by their work given the relatively short time since completion and the nature of the problem. Unfortunately, Mario, the owner, came to inspect and told me he would not be doing anything. He simply referred me to the expired contract, despite the fact that the issue clearly related to the work his company had done. What was even more concerning is that, after our conversation, Mario informed me that he had recorded our discussion without telling me beforehand. While Virginia law may allow one-party consent, I found this behavior highly unprofessional and unsettling. I'm writing this review to share my experience and caution others. I expected a contractor that would stand behind their work, especially for a project as important as drainage -- but that was not my experience with Homeland Contractors VA.
