I just hired Greens Tree Service to remove two sassafras trees from my property which were hanging over my garage roof. The one tree actually touched the roof when it snowed or during an ice storm. They had to go, especially since sassafras is such a brittle tree. Limbs were breaking off frequently and falling on the roof. Greens owner, Randy, came in and surveyed the situation and gave me a price we agreed on a we scheduled the date. Monday came and went and I called Randy. He said there was a scheduling issue with the crane and he had to change the date to Wednesday. So Wednesday the crew of 4 men showed at 0815am, including the crane operator. They went to work and Randy explained to the crane operator what the plan was. The first tree was taken in two separate parts. Randy is hoisted to the trees and he installs the harness on the tree, cuts off that section and the crane hoists the tree over the house and lowers it unto the driveway. The crew pf two men proceed to cut up the tree and feed the branches into the shredder. The logs are loaded into the truck bay The same happens with the second part of the tree. The second tree was the one leaning almost on the garage roof and the plan was to take it in one chunk. Randy installed the harness and then he came down to cut the tree at the bottom. The other two men had tied the tree bottom to another nearby tree so it wouldn't hit the garage as it was cut. Randy cut the bottom and the crane man lifted the tree up and backward away from the garage. The restraining rope was removed and the tree was hoisted over the garage and lowered tot he driveway. Cut up and chipped, etc. All the twigs and debris was cleaned up, raked, and blown spotless. Two trees gone with no mess or problems in just under 3 hours They did an outstanding job on my property, I highly recommend Greens Tree Service.. read more
