Very friendly and professional staff at Greenlight. I would highly recommend going there for a driving test. We took our daughter there and they were very nice and explained the entire process. She then went on the driving test with the instructor. Again very friendly and explained along the drive what she should be looking out for. He provided feedback on defensive driving and parallel parking. She returned happy that she had passed the test and could go to the Office of Public Safety the next day to get her license. read more

This is one of the worse experiences I had with this school. My kid took the training from the same driving school and attended the test from the same school, after multiple attempts she was able to hardly make it. The training is not up to mark and the feedback on the testing is inadequate and unjustifiable. They have lot of issues with the training course. 1. Driving Schedules are not open. They open the driving schedules on Monday night and there are only limited slots and they booked within 5 minutes. 2. The Driving Test instructions are pretty poor and they don't teach everything they will be testing on the road. Kids will be challenged with these surprises in the test. 3. Class room makeup times are not flexible. If the kid misses a class it is very difficult to make up for that class. 4. Everything costs - Every time you take test and any additional help you need from them costs money. 5. Unfriendly Staff- I raised my concerns with them during the test and they are supposed to reach me to sort out but no one reached me till date. I had to spend ton of time to drive with my kid to bring her up to speed. In one way I won't recommend this school. I would recommend explore different alternatives before considering this school. read more

We did not have a good experience with this school and will not send our younger son here. They have a very interesting upsell business by failing an unusually high number of students during the driver's test so they can charge you for a re-test. I seriously watched 4 kids fail while my son was testing. I suggest to their ownership that if your student fails, that you should be accountable as well and allow the retest for free. How about a money back guarantee for a failed driver's test? That would demonstrate confidence in your instruction rather than profiting off failure. read more

I Highly DO NOT recommend this company they are very horrible to work with. Long story short we signed up on May 11th for the 14 hour course (7hours driving & 7 Hours observation). First I want to start off by warning you that it's almost impossible to schedule driving times as they have grossly oversold the program. It took over a week for them to even get us a log in after taking my $412. When I finally got a log in of course they are booked up for 2 weeks so our first lesson was not until 5/30 and that had to be scheduled on a "cancellation". I quickly realized they were horrible to deal with and asked for a refund which they would NOT honor. Honestly you need to set an alarm on Monday evenings at 8pm to log in to a session that is "more than 7 days from your last lesson". This is so they can scam more people by over selling the program. So for instance if you have a lesson at 9am Monday you cannot schedule your next session until after 9am the following week on Tuesday. (That's if you log in at 8pm Monday evening to schedule as they ONLY release the following week on Monday immediately forcing you to be a week behind scheudling once you sign up. Don't forget the Monday evening as by all the slots are will be booked by Tuesday morning! If you are out of luck and had a conflict Monday evening you are forced to wait on a cancellation list to get a slot. Now lets discuss our first lesson. Well guess what the other student driver no showed which inconvenience due because we planned for a 2 hour lesson that was only one hour of driving and we had to then reschedule another time to do a 1 hour observation because he couldn't just sit and watch the instructor drive around? Why were we inconvenienced for someone else not showing up? They kept referencing some instruction email that was NEVER sent to us. After all the hassle we finally got the 14 hours completed and then had to drive to Roanoke (we live in Colleyville and signed up in Grapevine) to sign a drivers education certificate in person? Not sure why It couldn't be compelled via docusign considering they electronically signed the document. Why are they forcing a client who signed up in Grapevine to drive to Roanoke for a wet signature? Upon arriving I only received more poor customer service when the woman didn't like the way our Aceable drivers ed completed certificate was printed. Claiming "the instruction was again in my email" and the "log needs to be transferred to them" Long story, but again I DO NOT recommend this company until they improve customer service and stop over selling the program. Anyone should be able to schedule a service after paying without jumping through hoops. read more

Do NOT send your kids to this school!!! It is impossible to get drive times, you have to sit on your computer and wait for them to post times because it gets full in minutes. They change the rules on you. They charge for everything. They LIE, one person will tell you the rules is this and put you on hold and the next person will tell you the exact opposite! The people are rude and will not let you talk. I called to ask a simple question and was told that my son could not do his Impact Texas until he was done with all his driving. I understood that, what they would not let me say was that it was for his motorcycle license. When I tried to tell her what it was for, she kept interrupting me and hung up on me before I had a chance to say anything. Then they called my wife the next day and try to make me out as the bad guy. Well she was right next to me and heard what was said. If you like bad customer service then Greenlight is the place for you. I want a formal apology and bet I will not get one. read more

Terrible! When scheduling drive times the location is not always listed. The assumption is to go to the location where the actual classroom instruction was given, however this is not correct which results in a no show fee for the customer. Again, the location to which you are booking the drive time is not listed on the schedule2drive website!! I believe this is a scam to collect more money from their customers. Also, if you need to cancel your scheduled drive time there is also a fee. I was told this was due to them still needing to pay their drivers, however even when another customer books your cancelled slot, you still need to pay cancel fee, which results in green light driving getting paid double! Get here before 8 am today Took advantage of the $40 discount for Black Friday Web site says you get $15 off for paying cash and that it can be combined with the Black Friday special. They would not give it to me. They gave me some long explanation about an alcohol and tobacco program that is automatically added to the Trophy club program so they couldn't give me the discount. Too early and too tired to argue while I was there. I do know they offered to charge an extra $15 for an alcohol certificate so I'm confused. Called them back after I arrived home and they gave me a similar explanation. The web site doesn't indicate anything about any alcohol and tobacco program providing the discount. It only indicates that the discount is activated by paying cash or check. I think they are either confused or they did not print it correctly on their web site. Either way it's not cool to mislead the public. I hope they get it corrected on their web site soon. A few hours later: .... They emailed me back and apologized. Turns out there is a different agreement with Byron Nelson High School so the $15 cash discount can't apply. Kudos to them because they made it up to me in another way since they graciously mentioned the confusion existed. I like companies that make it up to you. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I called to get some information about getting my driver's license, the lady that answer the phone was so helpful. I asked her if I can come by to talk to her, she told they were open until 8pm. I drove there an explain that I have been out of the country, so my old driver's license was expired, she was awesome on explaining the steps I need to take, totally friendly. I used another Southlake driving school for my first child and Green Light (Grapevine) for the second child so he could attend with a friend. I would highly discourage anyone from using Green Light. The classroom sessions were fine. The issue is that it is highly difficult to schedule the 7 driving lessons that are required to complete the course. They open up drive times at 8 pm on Monday nights. By 8:01 pm this Monday, an entire week's worth of drive times were booked. It feels like Black Friday when they open the doors at Walmart and the crowd stampedes. There are not enough teachers or drive times to meet the needs of all of their students. If you don't complete the 7 drive times before the 1 year anniversary date of your first in-class course, you have to extend your contract for a fee. We never had these issues at the other school - there were plenty of options for drive times and never a scramble on Monday nights to get a drive time. Based on other reviews, this has been an ongoing issue for years. I wish I had read the other reviews before we enrolled! read more

On my daughter's first driving time with instructor, he humiliated her by making her get out of car & hug a stop sign. The same instructor on her last lesson was extremely negative to both kids in his car & later same instructor went as far to make fun of my child by using her by name as example, saying to students in his car, "you don't want to fail your 7th & 8th lesson like her." This was completely inappropriate & unprofessional, definitely not the type of guy you want teaching your child. read more

Warning: This is the worst place to send your kids to learn to drive. Listen to the other reviews. They charge for every little things. To schedule a drive time you have to be online at an exact time every week and hope to get a slot. We made the mistake of not reading the reviews. Their dmv testing people are absolutely stupid and look for every way to make you take the test again and charge you another fee to retake. Go somewhere else. It's super hard to get drive times and also their classes don't always make, so it is tricky to get make-up classes if you have to miss a class time. Wishing we would have done a more flexible option since we won't finish this easily. Please add more drive times and allow makeup class times to be completed online. This is the school if you want to waste your money. They really dont teach your kids how to drive or the rules of the road. They sit in a classroom and read a book, the same one at the DMV, and expect the students to learn everything they need to know. Then they sit in a car with an instructor that marks a little card with things the PARENTS are supposed to teach and correct. During the driving the instructors do not give any feed back or advice to the new driver. I paid my money to have the school teach my kids and not put it back on me to teach them. My daughter came home crying because one of the instructors yelled at her and told her to "shut up". I think the instructors are all sub-par and should all be dismissed from the position they hold as "instructor". I am also disgusted that the High schools pretty much endorse these bozos. Where to even begin... We went there for a road test and the staff there was abysmal. The rude and condescending instructors who work there should be fired. Let me explain why. I was doing my road test with an older, bearded man as my instructor. I do not remember his name, however. After we drove around and completed the road test, we parked in the "Road Test Parking Only" spots and this is what he told me: "So you think you can just drive however you want? You think since you are driving, you can just freestyle and drive however you feel like?" It may not sound so bad in text, but his tone and attitude really set how much of a terrible instructor he truly was. Also, he would mark me off for the completely wrong things. For example, he claimed that I never check intersections or my mirrors, however, I clearly did do that during the test. I made it as much of a dramatic turn of the head as I could to make it clear that I was looking. Yet he still said I didn't. Also, he said my parallel parking was completely wrong, however, I made it perfectly between the two poles without hitting them, and I did it in 3 wheel movements or less. He also said I didn't look around when I did the parking, but again, I made it OBVIOUS to him that I was. When we got back into the building, he told my parents how awful I was and he attempted to humiliate me in front of everybody. Even my mother was infuriated with this man, and I plan on sending as many complaints as we can to this man and this horrid "school". I want them to truly know how disgusting their staff is. If the "school" is reading this, you make me sick. I will make sure to advise everyone I can to not go to your wretched establishment. You should be ashamed, and if you really did care about driving and the outcome of your students, you should either create strict staff guidelines or start firing because this is unacceptable. And if the man who graded me is reading this, you should be ashamed. You need to clean up your rude act and start doing your job instead of harassing children and humiliating them. After reading some of the negative reviews on this Yelp page, I would not be surprised in the slightest if those are about you. Disgusting. I can't speak to the driving lessons, but my son took his state road test here and it was a wonderful experience! He did not have to wait in a crowded waiting area full of people was out on the road within about 15 minutes and had a wonderful encounter all the way around. Of course you still have to go to the DMV to get the license issued but at least you don't have to deal with road testing there. Thanks Greenlight! read more

I regret signing my son up with Greenlight and want to warn other parents to stay away. I agree with the other reviewers that the instructors are extremely negative to the kids. My son has a speech impediment and the instructor repeatedly asked him if he was learning disabled. My son told him no, and the guy actually said "Are you sure?" What a jerk. I had two older kids who went through the program a few years ago and it was fine, but things have gone downhill in my opinion. They seem more interested in wringing out cash from the parents that really helping the students. We had to pay extra to extend the contract because it was so hard to schedule drive times (you have to be ready online when they open the next week's driving times on Monday nights or forget it!). Then my son was failed in his final drive even though he'd been fine to that point. Now they want me to pay $65 for an "extra lesson." I get that kids need to ready to drive, but this smells like a scam to me. Please save yourself the money, time and aggravation by going somewhere else. If I had it to do over again, I would simply do the parent-taught program. The state has made it more difficult than it used to be, but anything is better than this place. read more

Don't waste your money here. Trying to schedule drive time is an exercise in futility. This is my forth daughter to attend drivers education and we have never had such a frustrating time as we've had with green light driving academy. We signed our daughter up with them because they operate out of her school, but good luck getting any drive times from Trophy Club. If you don't cancel your drive 24 hours in advance for any reason, you will be billed $25, payable before your student will be allowed to drive again. We were told this $25 fine was required because the instructor was going to get paid regardless of having both students. What they don't tell you is that the slot will be opened and all subscribers notified so that they can book another student and double their profit. I believe this to be illegal as billing should only take place if the slot cannot be filled. If you care to be nickeled and dimmed to death and have drivers education drag on for six months then by all means sign on with Green Light driving academy of Grapevine/trophy club. read more

They have some very nice staff who are a pleasure to talk to. However the process for scheduling drives (Which your son or daughter needs 7 of to complete the course) is rat race between you and the 500 other parents that are trying to schedule their children up for drives on an online program that is slightly less than easy to use. Whats wrong with it? Well, for starters you have to sit around all day on your computer every Friday between the hours of 10am and 7pm and wait for them to post the new schedule for the week. If you have something that day and can not sit at an actual computer (because no, it does not work on any form of phone/Tablet) than you can bet your lucky stars that there will be few spots left in a couple of hours. And even fewer that fit your schedule That's not all, you are only allowed to schedule one drive per week which sounds like no problem, however as I have found out it becomes a scheduling night mare. When school backs up (and it will) and you find you only have time for drives during summer and the few school breaks. Thirdly, there is a 25$ dollar fee for any missed drives, and if you have to cancel there likely is no possible way that you will be able to go a different time that week because aforementioned , it will all be completely booked. It is important that you finish the entire program in a year, if you do not they start charging you 50$ a month if you want to continue to finish. The 2 week class that is required to get your permit is state required and not that bad. Aside from a gruesome video they make you watch of a teenager who basically goes to the trauma center; and the program does not spare one detail. To make it even better, if for some reason you think the video is to much for your stomach and you need to "excuse yourself" , you can, but then you get to go right back in to the video and continue with the nightmare. I would recommend that you find out comfortable your child is behind the wheel first. Go to a parking lot and see what they know, and try to teach them the basics. If they look like they have an OK feel, and you have the time to teach them on weekends using the state's home drivers/online education program than please save your self a couple hundred bucks, hours of time consuming phone calls, and hours at a computer with scheduling and do it at home! If I was to make a recommendation I would say that this program is for people who: - Are very incompetent drivers and need 1 on 1 with a professional just to get out of park (nothing bad, some people just need a little more help) - Have parents who work or are busy often and do not have time to fiddle with the paper work of home drivers ed. - Have a perfectly linear schedule (So scheduling is actually possible-- preferably void of conflicts like Athletics or Band which make getting work done in the school year nearly impossible forcing you to attempt it all in the summer) Pros: -You will drive (they are good at what they do) -You will learn all the legality that is likely missed at home -The staff is like I have said, very kind. Cons: -Scheduling is a nightmare -No refunds or compensation for anything, regardless of most circumstances (An exception might be along the lines death inside the family) - Lots of fees if you screw up your scheduling - If you want a to start class book months ahead, I can almost promise you that if you want your son or daughter to start next week than you will likely find that there is no space for a month down the road. Sum it all up: You will be prepared for the driving test and to drive-- after a year of constant scheduling. The staff is nice however everything is run like a navy ship and there are little exceptions to the rules, screw up scheduling you will likely have to pay some fee. read more

A well organized school with a good program, but they severely overbook their drive times. That means it will take 6-12 months after you've completed your coursework before you will finish your driving instruction. For the parent of a teen already 16, this is frustrating. They open up drive times randomly "sometime between 10:30am and 7:30pm" each Friday on a first-come, first-serve basis. And they usually "sell out" within thirty minutes. What? You didn't get a slot? Wait another week and HOPE you are checking the web site during their 9-hour window when slots become available. If you have 6-12 months to get a license, this isn't that painful. But if you are wanting the shortest path forward, Green Light is just too random and unstructured. In short: they don't have enough driving instructors to meet the demand from their students, and little incentive to provide better service. read more

I have a child with ADHD learning to drive. They were patient and were willing to extend my year out a bit further so he could gradually progress; he needed more time. We never had a difficult time scheduling drive time. You do have to take some time to wait for times to open, but with one local driving school, it is going to take a little patience to get a slot. You have to do your job and monitor the openings after 7pm on Monday evening. It was not a big deal and I am not sure the reason for one star. We go to the Coppell location. They are excellent. The only thing I could recommend is a quick remedial program where the kid can get some tutoring in between drives. They do not offer tutoring. read more

Listen to the negative reviews. They take your money and then hold you hostage. You have no recourse for any issues. I've checked Google reviews and they are similarly poor. I can't speak to quality of instruction as my teen didn't say much about it . Based on his comments one or two of the driving instructors instructors may be iffy. But their two biggest faults are the frustrating, nerve-wracking scheduling system- for which they will provide no help - and the awful customer service. I've had 3 or more separate occasions necessitating contact in various forms. Email responses are snide and useless, phone call and in-person they are snippy and not at all helpful. I'm deeply disappointed and wish we could be finished but we can't. You invest too much money to go elsewhere or not finish. read more

This is an excellent school and staff. I had no issues with signing up, friendly staff, and educational. They walk you through the process of what is to come for the next few months for the classes and scheduling of driving times. Everything is automated and it's a simple click on the schedule to sign up for the drive times. Instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. Class content seems to be top notch and prepares young drivers for any test that they take. I highly recommend this Driving School. read more

EXTREME LACK OF COMPETENCE! Instructors not taking attendance and indicating your student has missed 4 nights they were actually there and rode their bus, Instructors showing up late for drive times and unprepared with NO KEYS to the building.... Management that WILL NOT return phone calls or emails.... They are quick to take your money in the beginning, but that is where their care ends! Very incompetent and unprofessional. Horrible experience! The instructors and staff are rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. They insult rather than instruct your child.

The instructors take students on roads where they should not be driving. My husband and I were stuck behind one of their cars on 1171 in Flower Mound where the road is under construction and can be confusing for even a seasoned driver. The speed limit on this road is 50 and the instructor never had the student go over 40 and most of the time they were going under 30. Also it was raining. In addition this a road with no passing so us and everyone else behind us was stuck. The instructors shouldn't be taking students on roads they aren't ready for and others don't have the option to go around. read more

Greenlight Driving Academy was very perfessional with their dealings with the parents and students. Communication was open between the teacher, admin staff, and parents. My son is a better driver for going through the academy. I have two more children who will definiately be going to the academy for there lessons. read more

This driving school does a great job with the classroom part of the education program but their actual drive practices a rediculously overbooked. Furthermore, each drive time is done with a different instructor so it is difficult to moniter how well the student is driving from each drive time to the next. Several of The instructors are also overly brash and hypercritical. If you want to give your child a driving education in timely manner worth your money, I recommend that you send hime/her to the Metro Driving School in Hurst where I have had a much better experience. read more

The overall school is Ok, but there is a teacher there named Terry and was terrible to my son. He was scared of him because he would yell for the least little thing. He humiliated him to where he could not drive well and then Terry yelled even more, slamming on the brakes and grabbing the wheel when it was really not necessary. If I could do it again, I would not let my child every drive with Terry again. read more
