I always purchase the Malibu perfume because I've been using it for years and absolutely love it. It is exactly what you think of when you're thinking beach vacay and the most glorious coconut scent. After I got back home back east I noticed that they sold me the wrong perfume. The front says Malibu but the back said something else with a terrible rose scent. When I noticed this I spoke with one of the owners and she was very kind saying she was very sorry and she would mail me the correct perfume. I was so happy she was able to go above and beyond for me since I've recently moved back east. I was emailing her and after a few months she basically said not to email her and that she would eventually mail the perfume when she got it in stock. I spoke with someone in the store and they said they had Malibu in stock but never heard from the owner again. I'm so bummed. It wouldn't be so bad but the perfume is quite expensive and it looks like I won't be getting it.

In the midst of a million wine tasting rooms, weird souvenir shops, and danish restaurants - there…read morewas an actual store that I could shop in! I was really surprised to see such cute clothes in a town that is more for an older "wine" crowd... but this place had such great stuff! I wanted to try on just about everything there, but I was on a budget and some of their shirts can be quite pricey (over $120+). I did find a couple shirts that I really liked in my price range - one was $60 the other was $39. I wanted to buy them both, but the owner said one of the shirts (the $60 one) didn't fit my shoulders correctly. I would have bought it anyways because it was damn cute - but she's the expert. I appreciated that she wasn't just trying to get me to buy anything. I ended up taking home the $39 shirt. The clothing selection covers a wide range of price points (from $30 shirts to over $120 shirts) and is for a younger crowd. I would describe it as somewhere between Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters. The owner (I think it was Kim?) was by far the nicest person (and the most helpful) person we met in Solvang.

In addition to setting up a fitting room as you choose options, they ask about your preferences and if you're attending an event that requires something specific. This allows them to also make suggestions (which I always appreciate). Anything I've purchased there feels like a piece that will last due to its quality and timeless styles. While they sell trendy clothes, it's far from "fast fashion" type stores that don't last or go out of style. I also value how much they personalize your experience from beginning to end and even after. I've received notices when they are having upcoming deals or events.

Rolled it up, put it in the bag and went to the Orcutt location to exchange for something else. I was surprised when the saleswoman said there was a stain on it. It wasn't that there was a small stain, it was the fact that she implied I put the stain there and should have noticed because it was "big" and started questioning me. She took a picture and commented how wrinkled it was and I should have noticed the stain. She was directed to not exchange it. Which, would have been fine except for the rude implication and questioning. I had two tops in my hand to buy whether she was going to accept the exchange or not. I've never been treated so rudely in my life. I will never shop here again, and will tell my husband and friends to never get me gift cards or clothes from here again.
