I'm so glad to have Greenhawk in the area. They have a super selection of tack, equipment and apparel at different price points to suit different budgets and level of experience. They are often more pricey than other places, but they are one the of few shops in the area, so whaddya gonna do? :)
The location is easily accessed just off the 404 and has lots of parking. The store is always very clean, nicely merchandised and has a Bark & Fitz doggie boutique as well as a consignment shop.
The service is inconsistent. The ladies at the check-out tend to act a bit put out when approached for help, and often ignore other customers if they're chatting with regulars/people they know. I find that most of the customer service staff on the floor are very eager to help and most of the time someone will approach immediately to see if I need help. However, I was improperly fitted for a helmet that two different employees insisted was the right fit. I showed it to my trainer and he told me to return it immediately as it was so big it flopped over my face even when tightened. I brought him with me to pick a new helmet so I now know what to look for.
Bad online shopping. The site has limited inventory, limited pictures/description of merchandise and a poor return policy: no online returns in-store. Shipping is by UPS only with no option for a less expensive alternative (e.g. Canada Post).
Overall, glad Greenhawk is at this location. I'll continue to go since it's close to my riding school, but will comparison shop online with other stores prior to purchasing. read more
