Most of my frustration comes from either the checkout or customer service. Most of my trips to Lowe's don't require help of any kind other than paying at the register. I really don't like the self checkout being the only option at the main checkouts. I usually checkout at garden for that reason. If I have a problem I go to customer service. Sometimes customer service will have multiple employees and ignore the customer or seem put out to help. They could do better. I wouldn't have reviewed this store if I didn't think they had gone down hill and could do better.

Harbor Freight: The Dollar Store of Tools…read more Walking into Harbor Freight is like walking into a bad comedy sketch. I was ready to spend real money. Framing nailer, nails, the whole deal. Instead I got met with a rainbow haired employee with the personality of a traffic cone and the tone of a middle school bully. She told me the nails I was buying were "wrong." Funny thing, those nails are the only 30 degree nails they even carry. And they do not fit the nailer they sell. Think about that. Harbor Freight sells tools and then sells nails that do not even fit those tools. That is not just incompetence. That is clown school logic. So I did the only logical thing. I put that junk back on the shelf and walked out. Harbor Freight did not just lose a sale, they lost every dollar I was about to drop in their store. And where did it go? To Ace Hardware. You know, the place where employees actually have a clue, do not talk to you like you are an idiot, and sell products that work together like they are supposed to. Harbor Freight loves to put on their little theater performance. Every employee yelling "WELCOME TO HARBOR FREIGHT" like Stepford robots. It is fake. It is hollow. It is the kind of customer service you would expect at a carnival booth, not a tool store. Drop the Broadway act and maybe stock products that are not a punchline. If Harbor Freight were a tool it would be a bent tape measure. Cheap, useless, and frustrating. If it were a fastener it would be a stripped screw. Sloppy and impossible to rely on. If it were an employee it would be the rainbow haired Walmart reject that drove me straight into the arms of Ace Hardware. Bottom line, Harbor Freight is not a store. It is a landfill with price tags.
