I can't really say why I had this hangup. I just envisioned some cocky, lackluster computer geek who thinks he knows everything; would overcharge and not know what he's doing having had his IT education limited to self taught HTML programming . But I didn't want to drive to Twin Falls and I hate the idea of really overpaying for a service like Geek Squad. I took my chances with the guy at Computer Machine Whisperer and was very impressed and a little upset with myself for having prejudice against small town computer geeks. He fixed it within an hour and didn't charge me a bogus "diagnosing fee" and I had really expected to pay at least 3x the amount. It turns out, I had gotten it backwards and the Geek Squad is actually the overchargers with lackluster, uneducated non-geeks. Poor guy at CMW might feel a little slighted at this review, but I assure you, this is a compliment to his establishment. Carry on!

Two days later drove for 1 1/2 hours to the store. He said he didn't know if they had the screen I needed and if not the OEM Apple screen would be $250. I left the store angry and disappointed. After years of…read morestruggling with outages and spotty internet with Sparklight we finally bit the bullet and switched over to PMT in Burley ID. Osiris (I'm sure I spelled that incorrectly) has been nothing but polite and patient with numerous stupid calls from me. Super friendly and answered even the dumbest of questions with nothing but professionalism. Hands down an asset to the company. Every single person that's been to our home through the entire set up process has been fantastic. I wish I would've gotten names but they know who they are :). We have 5 annoying rottweilers that like to bark at strangers and none of them looked even the least bit annoyed. The tech that came to do the final hookup into our home was amazing as well. They obviously choose the best and vet their employees well. He was in and out in no time and assured everything looked and worked great before he left. Even my super picky husband was impressed. Best of all my husband ran a speed test when he got home that night and both upload and download speeds hovered at about 980. He's the tech guy in our family and said that's actually unheard of. It is a little pricey but hands down worth it. Should've made the switch few years ago and saved myself a lot of irritation.
