I…read morepurchased my first car here a year ago, they quickly and blindly took me through paperwork and I was scammed. They marked the price of my vehicle up 200+ percent of the value. I had to put $1000 worth of work into it in a year of having it. It was $15,000 (value $4,000). The car was sold to me with rusted brakes, a DISGUSTING DIRTY interior that they wouldn't clean, and they tricked me into a HORRIBLE LOAN! I'm stuck in this car loan. Paying $30,000 for a vehicle worth $4,000! I'M A SINGLE MOTHER OF THREE CHILDREN AND THEY WILL NOT HELP ME. They put me into a loan with a 22% APR. I pay $8,000+ in interest. They shoved me into a terrible car quickly so I wouldn't notice what they were doing to me. I am having transmission problems now, the vehicle is DANGEROUS. It's a constant circle of "we're three+ weeks out on transmission work" from services and "we won't loan you a vehicle for that amount of time" from sales. This company needs to void the contract but they continually avoid me. They will not give the owner my information, or the owner won't call me back. I'm contacting an attorney. This place is not a good choice to buy vehicles. DO NOT DO IT FOR YOUR SAKE!!

Having purchased a vehicle from this dealership, and having entrusted their service department to…read moreservice four different vehicles I have owned, I thought I had a feel for who the people of this dealership are and what they are about. I recently learned, however, that my assumptions were wrong, and that this a dealership one should avoid at all costs, whether to purchase a vehicle or have one serviced. I have had my work car inspected for the state inspection sticker at Greenbrier Motors the three last years. The two previous years the car passed inspection with no issues other than a rear bulb needing replaced, despite the fact that a slight electronic issue existed on the interior. For five years now my 2007 Jeep Patriot has had a dashboard malfunction that is the result of a grounding problem. It's not a major issue in that it causes any crucial electronics like the lights or other parts to fail. The grounding problem causes the dashboard lights to randomly flash and for the annoying "ding, ding, ding" sound to go off, usually when accelerating around a sharp curve. It isn't a constant problem, but as a result of this problem the check engine light has remained on constantly for more than five years. I have had the vehicle to four different service departments for that problem alone. Shelor Motors of Christiansburg, VA actually had the vehicle for three days but was never able to locate the source of the problem. Nonetheless, the car passed VA state inspection at Shelor even with the electronic hiccup, and it passed inspection at Greenbrier Motors two previous years, despite their knowledge of the "problem" as well, which isn't really a problem but more of an annoyance that I have learned to deal with. Mind you as well that this dealership worked on the car several other times too, like when it corrected a transmission issue covered by the powertrain warranty, and when it recently replaced the back brakes, rotors, and calipers. During such visits, the electronic gaffe wasn't a problem ever mentioned. However, this year the electronic issue suddenly became a giant problem for this dealership, and it was cited, along with tire-depth issues, as a reason to fail the car for inspection. They suddenly wanted to "fix" this problem, which would likely justify several hours of labor charges, and they wanted to sell me new tires, the estimate calling for tires that cost $156 each, which would make them top of the line for the 205 70r 16 size. When I demanded they show me why the tires needed to be replaced, the service associate took me out to the car and pointed to a worn patch on the front tire. I recognized that the tire was close to meeting the minimum tread depth, but I needed actual proof by way of a depth gauge. Of course, he didn't have one on him. I was supposed to simply take his word for it. So finally a mechanic came out and tried to feed me a line of bull about the state requirements, which he was incorrect about. Conceding the front tires could be a loss, I then mentioned that the back tires were still within passing depth range, and that I could simply replace the two front tires to pass inspection, at which the associate snickered and said that isn't how tire replacement works for an AWD vehicle. Well, the Jeep Patriot isn't an AWD vehicle, it is a 4WD vehicle, and all four tires aren't working simultaneously. I then reminded him that I wasn't a naïve little old lady who was going to agree with anything I was told and pull out a credit card for their dealership to pillage. In the end, they wouldn't budge, and neither would I as I clearly saw through their guise to stick it to me, a person who has been a VERY loyal customer. The problem for this dealership is the fact that West Virginia is hurting economically due to the death of coal. They aren't selling their highly overpriced cars (they are always four to five grand over on any vehicle according to carguru.com) like they once did, and now they are resorting to the type of techniques that larger, scummy dealerships pull on a regular basis. How disappointing. It was like getting punched by a family member, receiving this news. No gratitude on their end for the business I have provided them the last two years. They are relying too heavily on business from the elderly population that is the bulk of people in this region, hoping they are too uneducated to research them. The fact that there are no other reviews for this dealership on this site speaks volumes for the point I am making. However, these older people are quickly fading away, and the younger generation is more in tune with their tricks and shenanigans. Owning three different dealerships in a small town doesn't make you king of the car hill. Beckley and Princeton are short drives away. I have no problem driving out of town to avoid these crooks. Greenbrier Motors will NEVER see another dollar from me!

As we headed down the mountain the truck was acting like it had bad fuel in it so we stopped and looked at the receipt to confirm my error. I knew this was a HUGE issue and so we called the nearest Chevrolet dealership which was Mitchell Chevrolet in Marlinton, WV. One of the owners, two brothers, brought a flat bed tow truck with a rental car for my family to follow him and my truck for the hour drive back to his location. His staff immediately asked if we needed anything to drink and offered options near by if we were hungry. The waiting room was very comfortable and warm, wood burning stove kept us all cozy! What we were thinking was going to be an overnight stay turned into only a two hour job overseen by the other brother. I was very fortunate there. The owners both stayed late to see that we were able to get back on the road or to help locate accommodations if we needed to stay the night. Bottom line here is their customer service was ABOVE and BEYOND our expectations. There should be more people in today's world like everyone at Mitchell's Chevrolet!! Thank you all for the help and hospitality. Phil Ralph.

DON'T LET THEM WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE! I bought a 3.5"…read moresuspension lift and levelling kit for my 2014 Silverado from Alleghany Motors. They used Lemons Automotive to install it. I was apprehensive the the dealership didn't do it but was assured that Lemons had installed a lot of suspension lif kits for them. Danny at Lemons was supposed to do the work and was supposed to be the only mechanic that installed the levelling kits for Alleghany Motors. I ended up having to drop it off to them directly. I left my cell phone for a call when it was finished. I was leaving town the next morning at 6am and ran some last minute errands. I didn't receive a call and a few minutes before 5pm, I stooped by the shop. My truck was out front and looked like it was ready to go. I went in and asked why I didn't get a call since they close at 5pm. They said the called the GM for Alleghany Motors to pick it up. Lucky I stopped by. After a few minutes and them remembering that I had dropped the truck off that morning, they gave me the keys. As soon as I started my truck the nightmare began. On the outside, the truck looked great. However, the multiple error messages..."Stabilitrak Service alert" , "Action Required - Steering Assist is Reduced Drive with Care", "Information alert - Park Assist Off" and the fact that my backup camera assist lines looked like the letter C instead of being straight told me something was not right. At this point, it was after 5pm. I was able to get a message to the GM at Alleghany Motors. He said that I would need an all-wheel alignment. Also, that it had a lifetime warranty and the dealership in Florida should take care of any problems. I have had a few other kits installed on trucks and the made sense. So I drove off and headed to Florida the next day. The error message constantly came in so it was a long drive. The ride of the truck had changed dramatically and was really rough. Set up an appointment to get the alignment. My local dealership couldn't get it aligned. They tried several resets on the control modules and the alarms would clear then return. They advised that during the install of the kit, parts of the frame had been cut off and they couldnt get it aligned. Also, the suspension was so tight because of the kit, that there was nothing they could do. This also voided my extended warranty on suspension parts. I researched the kit and found that it should have come with new longer upper control arms. The installation manual also notes that use of the new control arms does not require any cutting on the frame. Also, it states in the manual that the kit they put on was for steel upper control arms not aluminum control arms like the ones on my truck. It says to remove all electronic sensor connections as well. I let the GM at Alleghany Motors know what was happening. He said that he would take care of it and call the lift kit company and refund my money if necessary. I didn't hear anything for a few days. I ended up calling Lemons also. It turns out that Bobby, not Danny, at Lemons had installed my kit. After talking to him, I can understand why I had so many problems. He ended up telling me that the kit didn't have longer upper control arms, so he re-installed the originals with great difficulty. I could never get anywhere with either part after that. At this point, I took the truck to the local dealership's lift kit installer. I ended up having them put my truck back like it was before Lemons installed the lift. They were able to get the alignment just in specs. The error messages were still coming in. I took the truck back to the dealership and they reset the control modules. Still no luck. I'm now $2,000 in the hole. The dealership ended up calling GM. They advised to replace a couple of parts in the steering column. Estimate was another $2,000+. I tried to get the GM at Alleghany Motors to work with me. He apparently talked to Lemons and they refused to do anything. At this point, I will be taking legal action. I ended up trading the truck and the fix was either the angle sensor or tilt spring in the steering column. It appears that Lemons didn't look at the installation instructions at all. The sensor connections must not have been removed. I forgot mention that there were a page and a half of errors codes when they pulled them at the dealership. Still trying to get this resolved.

I made my purchase on or about 3/20/26, and George even worked with me on getting set up with a shipper they'd planned to have come out towards my neck of the woods that following week, but unfortunately that fell through. I received the car as advertised on 4/18/26 after using Montway auto shipping via UShip and it is a beauty. All in all, the staff at ECAS was great, very patient with me because I'd called NUMEROUS times during the month after purchase for updates and such. I would just recommend that there be a little bit more explanation of what to expect when dealing with shipping companies and how long that process can take.
